In today’s modern age and time, many people has the belief that a good education was the key to success in life, and that only through education and education alone will they achieve such ‘success’. Indeed, I must agree with the majority that by having good education, which is in terms of getting Aces in your studies and topping in your classes, they may be ways to help you in achieving success in life. As to many people, success may be symbolized as getting a highly paid job, earning a high salary, driving in a big flashy car and living in a posh house. All of these are materials, which can be easily attained when you are very well educated as jobs will then came knocking to your door instead.

However, this might not be true all the time as there may also be other exceptional cases when sometimes even if you have received good education while studying overseas, you might not get a well-paid job. This is for the reason that, the skills you have picked up overseas may not be applicable and useful in getting you the job you want in Singapore. Thus, in this case, a good education may not definitely be the way to success in life.

Other than this, a good education is also not the only path to success. You will also need a spank of luck and chances to strike occasionally to make it to success. That explains why there are successful people with low academic results being published on newspaper, as they are the ones who believe in their own efforts and know how to grab hold of rare opportunities which will help them to success even though they may only have little knowledge.

In my own opinion, I think that instead of using wealth to measure a person’s achievements and successes in life, we should use happiness. A person may be a very successful man when he had all the money in the world, but his life would be empty and meaningless if he feels sad and dejected. On contrary, an ordinary man can feel contented and happy when he has a happy family or when he had many great friends. These will not be exchangeable for all the money in the world. Thus, to be successful in this case, you do not need to have a good education, other than gaining care and concern from your family and friends.

In conclusion, I think that there was no exact ruler to measure a person’s achievement because each individual has his or her own definition about success in life. Well, thus to see whether you have achieved anything in your whole life is see whether you have reach any goals based on your aims. We each have a lanyard in measuring successes in our own heart.

Personal Responsibility

...person in life is your own personal responsibility. What you say, think, or do is a part of being a human, but you are accountable it’s your responsibility. Getting an education is my personal responsibility to become a better person. Having a preliminary plan is the key to success in education and everyday life. Our mind is like a sponge it observes everything and it’s our personal responsibility to choose the right path of life. Taking responsibility for ones actions and the consequences behind is personal responsibility in my opinion. It is all about you and the choices you choose in life, even if it’s good or bad. In life we all go through that stage where we want to fit in with the cool crowd. We have to go through things to find out that being a follower is not all that it seems. The time comes when being ourselves is all that matters; it’s a part of personal responsibility. Continuing my education is my personal responsibility and not putting it on hold anymore is a responsibility. Having to go to college and not get a job in that field can be so discouraging. It made me not even want to try again at the college world. Having to work jobs that only paid bills, and barely did open my eyes up to going back to college. I told myself that maybe that wasn’t my career path it was my responsibility to see what was. Setting a good example for my three boys that education is the key to success. Having a preliminary plan for my education is my personal responsibility in my......

...2018… What does this year mean for you personally? For football lovers, 2018 means Russia… With the world cup being held there.  For Ski lovers… 2018 means Pyeongchang, with the winter Olympics being held in South Korea. For others, 2018 is just another number, another year bearing no remarkable importance. For me… 2018 is a year of utter importance, it is the year I’ll realize my dreams. What dreams? Some of you may wonder… While growing up, I never dreamt to become an astronaut, never dreamt to become an actor, nor become the president. I had one dream, and that is to become a millionaire. Thus 2018 for me is the year I will make my first million. Oscar Wilde once said “There is only one class in the community that thinks more about money than the rich, and that is the poor.” Today, we will be discussing the one thought that possesses every man, the one thing that every man and woman covet, and that is money. It was once said by Henry Wadsworth, an American poet that “Music is the universal language of mankind”. Today however, music has ceased to be the universal language of mankind, and money arose to become the prominent language that connects all people across the globe. Rupees, Pound, Yen, Lira, Dinar, Euro, and Dollars; languages that every single one among you speaks, languages that all men speak. And to master that language; to become a fluent speaker capable of communicating and influencing others, one ought to become a millionaire.  Thus, as a student studying......

...Road to Success Kyi Brown Sociology 185 Mr. Joe Smith DeVry University June 12, 2011 Road to Success Leaving home at eighteen to go out on my own and start my own life, there were many things I wasn’t prepared for. In today’s society people are to concern with living by the second, not by the minute, the hour, nor by the day. The second I receive my high school diploma I felt gratified. The next minute I was off the stage, tossing up my cap towards the sky, and then off to hugs and kisses. A quaint celebration and said goodbyes to fellow classmates. The following hour becomes your Hollywood moment, a benefit in your honor with family and friends, with flash burst from all the cameras. Congratulations! The next day you awake with something poking you in your side, finding you slept with your diploma all night. I rose up from a good sleep wiping the cold from your eye’s gazing at the accredited sheet of paper completely appeased. I was supposed to be satisfied with high school diploma, but I feel shallow as if it was all for none. Back to reality, my socioautobiography given my young age, I do not yet have a long life history to look back upon, which is why I have all the more reasons to thoroughly explore the 38 years of my conscious life to find solutions to the current situations. Most of my adult experience belongs to my children and my school era, an era indeed since my life could have ended a couple of times in the time when hustling was the most......

...responsibility can go a long way, not only in education, but in everyday life as well. When you are responsible, you get things done in a timely manner. You make sure everything is done correctly, and you do not need to be reminded on a daily basis to do your work. Personal responsibility gets you the education you need, and you do not have to rely on others for the rest of your life. “The willingness to both accept the importance of standards that society establishes for individual behavior and to make strenuous personal efforts to live by those standards” (Haskins, 2009). Even though not doing your homework or being responsible means you will rely on others, doing your homework and having a curriculum will help lead to college success. When you do your homework, that is taking responsibility to furthering your college education and personal responsibility also means you can be a leader in life because you can handle things. Homework When you do your homework, and you have a curriculum set, this will help lead to college success. ...disabilities. Instead of hiding or ignoring the disability, models of advocacy and early intervention are espoused as being key to helping disabled children have academic success and also learn the social and life skills needed to transition in their adult lives. Introduction: Many years ago, when a child exhibited a potential developmental disability parents were advised to let a child ‘grow-out of it’. As the field of special education has evolved and grown, it readily acknowledged that catching issues early, not ignoring them, is the most effective way to help the child. “Early childhood experts agree that the earlier intervention begins, the better. Child development expert Burton White, who has conducted years of research with typically developing infants and preschoolers at Harvard University’s Preschool Project, believes that the period between 8 months and 3 years is critical to cognitive and social development:“to begin to look at a child’s educational development when he is 2 years of age is already much too late”(Heward, 2009, p. 535). The consensus, however seems to be that the earlier a deficiency or disability is discovered the better chances for helping a child learn to navigate the world to come. So now that the mode of thinking has changed, what does it mean for the field of education and the assistance it provides to...

...responsibility to your country. Obeying the laws of the land like taking care of Mother Nature by not littering or polluting are just some examples. There are other lawful responsibilities as American citizens that we have to abide like “no drinking and driving”. The way society is today most young generations just don’t care about their responsibility and just want to do their own thing. As parents it is our responsibility to raise our kids to follow the right path of life but in reality they need to learn the hard way. What Causes Students to Drop Out of College?

...Topic: What causes students to drop out of college? With a competitive job market like these days, employers ask for not only real experiences but also a certain degree in university when you apply for a job. The higher your degree is, the more decent the salary is going to be. Knowing this fact, however, some students still fail to finish their degree before graduating. There are many reasons, subjective and objective ones, why people cannot follow the higher education path till the end. The following three are the most popular causes among the uni-droppers. The first and main cause is financial burden. University fee is a nightmare for most students who just receive little or no support from their parents because it normally accounts for over one third of their income. Besides, they have to cover not only tuition fees but also textbooks which are not cheap for tertiary education. This is not to mention about the students who go to university in another region.
