Is Abortion Murder? people have debated whether or not abortion is murder. People from both sides have very valid points to back up their side. So who is truly right? I believe that how you were raised as well as your religious beliefs, ways a lot on your side of the ongoing debate. As for me, I believe that abortion is in fact murder. If you kill a newborn baby or a young baby you will be charged with murder and sentenced to serve time in jail. If a pregnant woman is killed, the murderer will be charged with two counts of murder (both the mother and the unborn baby). Yet, if that same pregnant woman chooses that she, for whatever reason, does not want to carry and give birth to the baby, she has the choice to kill that baby according to the laws passed in 1973.
One should know before engaging into sexual intercourse, the many things that can be the outcome of sex. Even if you don’t know about every disease that you could catch, you definitely know that babies are made by having unprotected sex. Moreover, many doctors and anti-abortion advocates as well as I believe that life begins at conception; therefore terminating the pregnancy is in fact murder. Furthermore, there are an unlimited supply if contraceptives and condoms to prevent a pregnancy. Also there are always other options like adoption. There are thousands of people who would love to have a baby yet they’re unable to have a child of their…...

Abortion Is Murder

...Abortion is Murder Abortions, we all know what they are and we all have our own opinions on the matter. The laws regarding abortion have been debated, fought over, petitioned, and discussed, whether calmly or very heated, for years. It is a never ending war. You are either for or against this issue. For some it is a personal rights issue. For others it is a moral issue. Some see this as the woman’s right to take charge of her own body and make the decision as to what happens inside it, while others look upon abortion as an abomination and murder. Which side do you take? There is no middle ground on this. One cannot be against it for themselves, but ok with it for everyone else. What is an abortion? Abortion is defined as the deliberate induction of delivery during pregnancy before the infant has reached full term. Normally this is done within the first 8 weeks of pregnancy, but can be done throughout the entire pregnancy. When did abortions truly begin? Well, a definite time frame has not been found, however there are abortions dating back as far as 1550 BC and records in China dating back to 500 BC when royal concubines were made to get them. The fight for and against abortion has been raging since about the 18th century. Christian churches allowed a woman to get an abortion as long as it was before she could feel movement. Once the 18th and 19th centuries hit the war began. In the 1800s abortions were done mainly in “back alley” practices which caused deaths and......

Abortion Controversy

...Universidad de las Américas. Mayor in R.R.I.I. EN361-22 Hills Peter Matthew Gálvez Manuel 76251 Abortion Controversy September 22, 2014 Abortion Controversy. Abortion is a very sensitive issue. Many people are constantly debating whether abortion should be allowed or not. Some people think abortion is very bad and that it should not be allowed at all. They think abortion is like committing murder as it is killing the human fetus. Others feel that the parents should have the right to choose and it is not murder until the baby is born. People who think it is bad say that the fetus is something alive, a human being who is partly formed and to do abortion is to kill it and commit murder. The people who think it is ok say that it is not murder until and unless the child is born. I think that abortion has to be seen about which stage the fetus is in. If it is in the very early stage, then it is not murder. But if it has already developed into a larger fetus, it can be considered as murder. There are other times when abortion is also fine. For example if there is a complication in pregnancy and the mother can suffer because of the child, it is ok to do abortion. It is important to understand the various ideas that go behind abortion. The right of an abortion for a mother should be left on her own decision as the mother knows best about her condition. She is going to be the 'host body' for the baby, even though her own, for nine months and according to Thompson, the......

Abortion

...ILLEGALIZE ABORTION By: Abirna Senthilkaruniyan “I feel the greatest destroyer of peace today is 'Abortion', because it is a war against the child... A direct killing of the innocent child, 'Murder' by the mother herself...”― Mother Teresa. In the twenty first century, laws have changed to establish equality to both men and women in developed nations. The act of abortion, ‘is the removal of an embryo or fetus from the uterus in order to end a pregnancy.’ This act became legal in the United States of America in 1973 after the Supreme Court case of Roe vs. Wade. In North America, it is legal to abort a child twenty weeks after conception. The government will permit a woman to have a late-abortion for the following reasons: “(1) if the woman has a serious disease, (2) the pregnancy could endanger her physical/mental health, (3) the continuation of pregnancy could lead to substantial risk to the newborn, (4) if the pregnancy was the result of rape (5) if the socio-economic status of the mother hampers the progress of a healthy pregnancy, (6) if the contraceptive device irrespective of the method used failed.” However, other than the respectable mediums listed above abortion should be abolished. Due to the law, abortion is now a risk to the economy and its future, it also increases the rates of murder and can negatively impact a woman psychologically. If North American countries want to sustain humanity and to continue being economical contributors, influencers and......

Abortion

...therefore, that would make abortion murder. The baby that is growing inside of the woman is depending on her, so when she makes the choice to end that baby's life; they are making the choice to murder another person. Someone that believes in the pro-choice theory would say that the decision is up to the woman, but the person with the pro-life theory would say that it is murder no matter what the situation. Most people consider it murder to kill a baby the day after it is born. Then why would it not be murder to kill it before it is born? There are many abortions performed each year in the United States. Seventy-five percent of all abortions in the U.S. are performed on women over twenty years of age, but the lawmakers try to concentrate on the 186,000 teens that have an abortion each year. In 1990, there were nearly 400 abortion bills were that were introduced to forty-one legislatures. So far, as many as twenty states have passed a law that requires a teenager to have parents consent before having an abortion. This may help reduce the number of abortions each year. The people that passed these bills feel that maybe the parents will feel differently about the situation and be able to talk their child out of it. Twenty percent of teens that are sexually active do not use any form of birth control. These are the teens that end up getting pregnant and getting an abortion. If these girls would use some kind of contraceptive it could stop a lot of the abortions performed......

...Should Abortion be legal? Nearly half of pregnancies among American women are unintended, and about four in ten of these are terminated by abortion. In 1973 Roe V. Wade decision, the supreme Court ruled that women, in consultation with their physician, have a constitutionally protected right to have an abortion in the early stages of pregnancy. Abortion is a very serious and dangerous thing to decide 50% of women who have had abortions report experiencing emotion and psychological problems lasting for months or years. Only 12% women reported having a physical problem with their health among having an abortion like an infection called hemorrhage and uterine perforation. My personal experience having an abortion is when my mom had one in 2000. She said that she was not ready to raise other child at this moment in her life, because she just moved to North Carolina and was looking for a job. She felt no guilt about what she has done she thought it was the right thing to do at this point in her life. Most people would argue that abortion is not only wrong, but it is murder to an innocent child with no fault of its own. The first reason that abortion should be illegal because it is murder! For example, the fetus is a distinct individual therefore its DNA is completely its own while the baby is in the womb the baby will show definite signs of emotion. I think that when a human egg and a human sperm meet, the resulting individual is simply human. The number of American babies......

Pro Life

...Pro-Life How would you feel if someone took away your ability to live? Many women across the United States are having the procedure of abortion done, which is the termination of a pregnancy. To kill an unborn using horrible procedures is not only wrong for the doctors to perform, but morally wrong too. I believe abortion should only be legal if it is done in the first trimester of pregnancy or if a pregnancy will physically effect the mother. Besides those reasons, abortion should be outlawed because abortion is considered murder, unwanted babies can be adopted, and abortion can harm the mother’s body. Abortion is simply murder because you are killing a living being for your own interests or reasons. Firstly, pro-choice activists believe that aborting a fetus is not murder because it isn’t a human being yet. According to an article from sexinfo.edu on arguments for and against abortion, “The fetus is a human being from the moment of conception, this means abortion is murder.” Secondly, pro-choice activists also say that the baby will not feel any pain which is not only untrue but it also is painful for the mother. According to an article called Do Unborn Children Feel pain, “Many pro-life doctors maintain that fetuses can feel pain by 8 weeks after fertilization (about the time most surgical abortions take place).” Lastly, it is unfair to the baby who has no say in anything to be aborted. “The child who is in the womb of the mother has not done anything wrong to......

Why Abortion Is Wrong

... Name: Glennder Rooplal Topic: Abortion Claim: Abortion is not the best solution. Thesis Statement: Abortion is not the best solution because abortion is murder, it is an unsafe procedure which endangers the lives of women and it disallows for safer options such as adoption. Points It contributes to mass murder It endangers the lives of women It disallows for options such as adoption Introduction The dictionary defines Abortion as: The termination of pregnancy and expulsion of an embryo or of a fetus that is incapable of survival. This simply means, inducing birth to kill the fetus, or baby before it is carried to full term. However, I would define abortion as morally and spiritually wrong. How would you feel if you were denied the right to live? Imagine being held against your will, gagged, and your hands bounded as you are placed in front of a firing squad about to be killed for absolutely no reason. Your right to live depends solely on someone else’s decision, hoping and praying that their decision is one that will be one of moral and ethical consciousness and would allow you your right. This is exactly what abortion entails, denying you your right to live. There are many women who might have gotten pregnant and thought that they were not ready to have a child. For most of them, they turn to abortion and see it as their only way out. I am certain many of these women have not fully understood the consequences behind abortion or does not realise that there are many......

Abortion causes stress and psychological pain, abortion is murder and abortion can relate to medical problems later in a woman’s life. Abortion causes stress and psychological pain in many women. Many women regret having the abortion and it causes them to stress completely out to where they lose their jobs and friends. Topic of Abortion

...There are many different viewpoints on the topic of abortion. Some individuals see it as murder while other individuals believe that everyone can make their own choices regarding their bodies. An abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy. In certain circumstances, an abortion is seen as acceptable and others believe there is no excuse for anyone to commit what is believed to be murder. Pro-life individuals believe in giving every unborn child a chance at life while pro-choice individuals believe that every woman has the right to make their own decisions regarding their body. Much of the country is split in the decision to keep abortion legal or illegal which is why a desired outcome is difficult to point out for the future of the country. The Main Issues Regarding Abortion There are two different viewpoints when discussing the topic of abortion. You have individuals that are “pro-life”, meaning that they believe intentionally caused abortions are wrong and considered murder because a human is taking away the life of another. Then there are pro-choice groups who believe that a woman should have access to whatever health care she needs and that she has control over her own body. Murder is the unlawful premeditated killing of one human being by another. But people debate whether a fetus is considered a human being at such an early state. On the other side, the pro-life individuals believe no matter how small, that a fetus is still a human. There are many......

Abortion: the Wrong Choice

...Abortion: The Wrong Choice Tammy Edwards COM/172 September 15, 2010 Sunny Rowland Abortion: The Wrong Choice Nearly half of all pregnancies among American women are unintended, and four in 10 of these are terminated by abortion (Guttmacher Institute, Incidence of Abortion, May 2010). Abortion should be made illegal, because a fetus is a baby, no person has a right to take another's life, and an unborn baby cannot make the decision to live or die. A Fetus is a Baby While some view abortion as something people should be able to choose, others say abortion is a great evil, which is destroying the moral fabric of society Cline (2010). Many of the arguments turn on the status of the fetus: Is a fetus a person? A fetus is indeed a baby. From the moment of conception, a fetus is alive and growing inside the mother’s womb. For this reason, the fetus is a baby and considered a living, breathing being. If this were not so, then why is there a law in the state of California that if a person murders a pregnant female, that person is then charged with two counts of murder instead of just one Simon (2004)? This is true no matter how far along the mother is, one day or nine months. Therefore, this makes the fetus a real person. No Person Has a Right to Take a Life No person has the right to take another person’s life. Many skeptics say that the Bible does not say anything specifically about abortion. That there are no references to women seeking to end pregnancies,......

Abortion

...ABORTION: There are many reasons or scenarios that a woman can put her self in to result in having an abortion. The first one that comes to mind is being too young. There is nothing worse than seeing or hearing about a girl who is 14-16 years old being pregnant. That is too young and the girls decision should be clear, have the procedure or end up with a child when in fact she is still a child. Another reason why women who are pregnant unexpectedly to get an abortion is that babies are expensive. If the bills aren’t being paid and there is only food on the table for the two of you now, how is it going to be when there is a baby who is always hungry. Even if the partners both work, for at least three months their income is going to be cut in half so the mother can give birth an be with the child, and not all people can survive with that kind of financial burden. Abortion should be made illegal, because a fetus is a baby, no person has a right to take another's life, and an unborn baby cannot make the decision to live or die. Abortion

...The argument over whether abortion should be legal is an ongoing debate. Although abortion has been legalized over the majority of the U.S., many people are still against it. Abortion should be legal because it gives the woman the right to choose. At times there may be several factors that affect the woman’s decision. Women that are pregnant due to rape may prefer to have an abortion. A woman may not be financially stable, or may be pregnant with a malformed fetus, or the pregnancy could cause them health issues and they may want to have an abortion. Making abortion illegal cannot stop illegal abortions which are very unsafe. Abortion should remain the decision of the mother. Women that are pregnant because they were raped should have the right to terminate their pregnancy. Rape victims may experience many mental problems which can interfere with their parenting. The baby will always be a reminder of what they went through. Some women may be able to handle this, while it could be too much for others. The victim may be exposed to harmful germs and diseases from the predator. The baby could possibly be born with diseases. The baby will also have to be raised without their real father, and one day possibly learns the truth. Women who have been diagnosed with a malformed fetus should have the right to choose abortion. The child could be born with a birth defect. This could cause the child to never have a normal life. The birth defect could possibly cause......
