What does the word education mean to you? Education has many definitions, education is the act or process of educating or being educated from a school at any level. Many are asking is a college education worth it any more. Some are questioning if the value of education worth the time. Unfortunately this situation is a growing problem in our society, which needs a positive solution put in place so we won't be forced to make these difficult decisions later in life. Managing money should be a big focus in our school system. The benefit of college education, does outweigh the cost, though the cost of college is at an all-time high, it’s still beneficial.

As a society we have been conditioned to accept the pursuit of a higher education as a primordial part of our development into professionals and ultimately breadwinners in our homes. The salary of a high school graduate is seventy-three percent lower than that of a college graduate in any given field of study(Abel.Jaison, 2014) The disparity in job opportunities for that same high school graduate versus that same college graduate can vary just as greatly. A degree, even when unrelated to the job applied for, demonstrates reliability and perseverance to a potential employer. We are therefore expected, often as young adults, to at least consider some college education before heading into the work force. Speaking from a realistic experience and standpoint there are many things to consider before deciding how much a college education is worth to you; before all else, you must consider whether or not you can afford it. A person must consider whether they can afford the tuition, time, and effort, but most important of all people must consider whether at the end there will be a return for their investment.
