Enders Game Isolation is the feeling of being alone. That’s all Ender felt while he was in battle school and that’s how the I.F. wanted him to feel. In Enders Game, Ender is brought to battle school because the I.F. believes he will be the commander to stop the buggers from attacking again. Through battle school Ender realized he was alone, but being isolated helped Ender to focus on winning, a trait that helped him beat the bugger army. The book Enders Game was better that the movie because it was more detailed, it didn’t skip over a long period of time and it gave a better idea of who the characters are.

The whole idea of battle school in the book is more detailed of Ender and his journey through battle school and how he got promoted. They details is what makes the book better. Ender started out as a launchie, and you watched Ender get promoted to salamander army and then he became a toon leader, and a commander of his own army. In the movie Ender started as a launchie and quickly improved to salamander army, but from there he only had one battle and then he was a commander, one battle as a commander and then he was leading entire fleets of soldiers against the bugger armies. The movie left out so many details and it skipped ahead in the book so fast that the movie was horrible. Another difference that could be seen between the book and the movie is the relationships that Ender has with others. In the book Ender has a better relationship with Alai, one difference I noticed while watching the movie is when they said good bye and good luck to each other Alai never kissed Ender. Dink and Enders relationship in the book was that Dink was training Ender in his toon. Dink was in rat army and he was the one who told Ender that the enemies are the adults. In the movie Dink was in rat army and soon entered Enders army. The movie was so different from the book it made it

...world until I find a time and a place where you can come awake in safety. And I’ll tell your story to my people, so that perhaps in time, they can forgive you, too. The way that you’ve forgiven me’” (Card 321). Ender’s words encompass the themes that are shown throughout Ender’s Game. Ender's Game Winning at the Cost of Morality

...Winning at the Cost of Morality Winning always comes at a cost. Sometimes the damages come in the form of materialistic objects. Other times the cost is one’s own soul. In the book Ender’s Game, by Orson Scott Card, the main character, Andrew “Ender” Wiggin learns very quickly the detriments of his decisions. The choices he makes affect not only his own life, but the lives of his family, his friends, his adversaries, and the countless lives of the buggers. Winston Churchill once said that “A man does what he must – in spite of personal consequences, in spite of obstacles and dangers and pressures – and that is the basis of all human morality.” Ender Wiggin is the epitome of this quote. Ender Wiggin was born to win. He was created in a lab by the government to have the ultimate genetic capacity—to have extreme intelligence, with just enough compassion and fury to save humanity. Being a third, which is a derogatory term used for a third child, implied that Ender was an ignominy to his family and to society. This title forced Ender to prove that he was better, that he could win when no one else could, including his own brother and sister. The first evidence of Ender’s intense need to win happened as soon as he had the monitor removed from his head. Upon his return from the infirmary, Ender’s nemesis, Stilson, approached him to torment him once again. Ender, who had received many beatings from this boy in the past, thought, “I have to win this now, and for all time, or I'll...

Ender's Game Movie Vs Book Essay

...Compassion is what makes us human. It is a main theme in Ender’s Game and what separates Ender from his psychotic, power hungry brother Peter. Ender Wiggin’s purpose in life as determined by the controlling government is to become the ultimate military commander who will destroy the Buggers, an alien race that the humans have engaged in war with two times before. The movie Ender's Game excludes crucial details from the novel by Orson Scott Card making the book a more thrilling work of science fiction. The plot of Ender's Game keeps the reader interested with important details and subplots. One of the most crucial details in the book are the internet personas that Peter and Valentine take on to capture the eye of the world. “Demosthenes and Locke” write political articles from two different perspectives that are read worldwide by everyone from the Wiggin children’s father to the President of the United States. This angle is incredibly important to the story as Peter uses his global power gained through Locke to take over Earth at the end of the book. Just as important is the intentional isolation of Ender in Battle School by the controlling adults of the...

Dragon Battle From The Hero's Journey Compare And Contrast

...One major similarity would have to be that both the book and movie displayed the final bugger battle beautifully. This is one of Ender’s most significant battles, specifically, this could be considered Ender’s Dragon Battle from the Hero’s Journey. It was an extremely important part of the movie and book that could not have been left out. Also, the isolation aspect from the story was included into both the movie and the book. Colonel Graff pointed out Ender’s intelligence to all of the people on the shuttle on their way to Battle School in both movie and book in order to purposefully make people dislike him and isolate Ender. This theme was particularly important because it set up Ender to be able to rely on himself and his peers instead of waiting for an adult to help him, just like how he will have to in the bugger battle, which is emphasized in both the book and movie. Finally, Ender finding the bugger pupa was an important part of the overall story and shows how Ender felt obligated to travel the universe searching for a new home for the pupa, and how he felt that he had to after destroying the whole race and their planet. This is Ender’s Ultimate Boon, basically his end goal, to find a home for the buggers and atone for what he had done to them. Now there are not only similarities between the book and movie, but there are also...

Change In Ender's Game

...better. In Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card, the Earth is under attack. Ender, a brilliant young boy, qualifies for battle school, where, over a course of many years, he strives to be the best student at his age. Throughout Ender’s journey through battle school, he becomes an outcast from being the the smartest kid in his class who gives up on the game of battle school all because of his (kid) role-models opening Enders eyes to the real issues. Being the smartest kid among a group of smart kids in battle school is like a call for isolation. Ender being an outcast was caused by the constant envy of other lanches (other kids in his class). Only one kid ever had the nerve to even say, “I noticed you eating all alone” (42) to Ender and try to be a friend. Teachers never made it any easier for him. Colonel Graff spoke highly of Ender, which only made other kids resent him more. To stop the mistreatment Ender used the reason why they didn’t like him, his brain, by hacking into Bernard's, the meanest kid’s, message system and...

Ender's Game Movie Vs Book

...Imagine a world where the only salvation for the human race is a six year old boy. Ender’s Game is a book, written by Orson Scott Card, about that six year old boy named Andrew (Ender) Wiggin. When he was six years old, he left his family to join the International Fleet’s Battle School so he can learn to command or even fight against the buggers, an alien race that invaded earth 50 years prior. He defeats them by putting everything on the line and destroying their planet. The book portrayed the story much better than the movie had and was a more enjoyable experience because it had many suspenseful moments that were taken out of the movie. Ender’s Game had many key elements that would not have made the story as great if they were not included....

Comparing Ender's Game 'And The Bugger'

...“I think it's impossible to really understand somebody, what they want, what they believe, and not love them the way they love themselves.” -Orson Scott card, Enders game. Ender's Game is a book about a boy’s struggle in the future to take down humanity's biggest enemy, The Buggers. Ender struggles throughout the entire book learning what the enemy does, and their weaknesses. However, Ender has a challenging time destroying his enemy because at the point where he understands them enough to destroy them, he loves his enemy and has no desire to. There are two ways you can experience The Enders Game: you can either read the book or view the movie. The book is far superior to the movie because it includes more detail. Ender Wiggin Character Analysis

...Is Ender Wiggin their last chance at saving humanity? Maybe one of the many questions one can ask himself while reading Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card. In the book, Andrew “Ender” Wiggin is placed in a difficult situation. Although he overcomes the situation, it did not affect his identity. Ender had to learn to cope with the things that have happened to him. At the age of six, Ender was taken and placed in battle school. Unlike most of his peers, Ender is isolated from almost everyone else and advances more quickly. This causes a majority of his peers and commanders to develop an animosity towards him. However, Ender does begin to make friends who genuinely care for him. While Ender thinks everything is going well, the administrators decide to make him a commander...

Andrew Wiggin In Ender's Game By Orson Scott Card

...Andrew(Ender) Wiggin is the main character in the well known Ender’s Game book written by Orson Scott Card. He is first introduced as a kind, sweet Kindergartener who seems to be perfectly fine. A few pages later, he is said to had killed a little kid in what seems to be an act of self-defense. The author portrays the death to be accidental and makes it seems like it was necessary for Ender’s well being. Later on, we are introduced to Ender’s family, whom seem to be lovely with the exception of his brother Peter, who seems to be very violent and frequently scares Ender and his sister Valentine. Soon thereafter, Ender is forced to leave his house immediately and go to an army base in space where he is told to have work to do. Ender begins...

Ender's Shadow Rhetorical Analysis

...Reflection Paragraph Ender’s Shadow : 1 In the novel Ender’s Shadow, by Orson Scott Card I can reflect in the beginning that Bean is a tough kid that has learned quite quickly. He picked things up from the streets and learned how to not get bullied a lot and to stay away from certain people. He learned the essentials of living on the streets in a cruel world where nothing is nice and everyone is competitive. In the start he was about to die of starvation. He had mentally strengthened himself to survive. He chose to help Poke, because she looked stupid enough to believe whatever he said. But Poke came out to be even dumber than that and chose Achilles as the bully. This was her biggest mistake. Bean warned her, “"Kill him," said Bean. "If you don't kill him now, he's going to kill you." (10). Bean knew he was trouble because he looked smart, even with his gimp leg. Achilles was a cruel killer from heart and would do anything to win. Achilles was a thinker and knew what steps he should take to take control of Poke’s crew. He slowly persuaded everyone...
