Issues and Solution Medicare should cost a little bit more for the rich. In doing so, they will be catering for a fair share. By fair, I mean the rich are fortunate enough; they can afford because they are wealthy and therefore, should pay more for Medicare. In fact, raising premiums for the higher-income Medicare beneficiaries is the best strategy that will help raise more premium revenue. By doing this, the Medicare’s finances will greatly improve. This will bring more premium revenues with fewer burdens on low income beneficiaries. The basic idea in this plan is based on the fact that the beneficiaries will be paying the premiums which go up in accordance to their income. This has a lot of sense. Initially, the idea of the Medicare was to ensure that health benefit received by the beneficiaries were adequate for all alike. Things have changed due to rising costs of Medicare. Therefore, this plan comes, based on the principle that the better placed beneficiaries should pay more. Ideally, the higher-income beneficiaries are healthier and younger. These are highly needed in the plan to help create a balance in the costs resulting from the less wealthy and sicker members in the program. This will create an equitable platform for all.

Bgp Securiy Issues and Solutions

...A REPORT ON CURRENT BGP PROBLEMS AND SUGGESTED SOLUTIONS CS526- Assignment# 4 Amit Jhamb & Bhavani Prasad University of Missouri- Kansas City BGP Overview The Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) is an exterior gateway protocol (EGP) also known as inter-Autonomous System routing protocol. The primary function of a BGP speaking system is to exchange network reachability information with other BGP systems. This network reachability information includes information on the list of Autonomous Systems (ASs) that reachability information traverses. This information is sufficient to construct a graph of AS connectivity from which routing loops may be pruned and some policy decisions at the AS level may be enforced. BGP-4 provides a new set of mechanisms for supporting classless interdomain routing. These mechanisms include support for advertising an IP prefix and eliminate the concept of network "class" within BGP. BGP-4 also introduces mechanisms, which allow aggregation of routes, including aggregation of AS paths. BGP also performs interdomain routing in TCP/IP networks. Problems in BGP I-BGP Scaling Problem: All BGP speakers within a single AS must be fully meshed so that any external routing information must be re-distributed to all other routers within that AS. This "full mesh" requirement clearly does not scale when there are a large number of IBGP speakers as is common in many of todays internet networks. For n BGP speakers within an...

Underbalanced Drilling as an Effective Solution for Drilling Issues

...Effective Solution for Drilling Issues Rodrigo H. Ruschel Bridging Course Centre for English Language Teaching, University of Western Australia Semester 1, 2013 Introduction The Oil and Gas industry is looking for new methods of exploration and production. Currently, the oil and gas reservoirs are becoming more difficult to access because the operators are required to deal with complex and depleted reservoirs, such as low pressure zones, sub salt formations and tar zones. This is a challenge for both the on onshore and the offshore environment. These complications are directly related to drilling engineering because these professionals have to deal with complex situations involved in risks and pressure in order to keep operations under control. In order to avoid problems during drilling operations might causing financial and environmental issues, underbalanced drilling (UBD) methods have been implemented. These methods are based in which both hydrostatic and dynamic pressures in the circulating down-hole fluid system are intentionally kept below or the same as the pressure of the formation being drilled UBD methods have been used in order to defeat issues such as avoid formation damage, lost circulation, differential sticking and reduction of non-productive time. Also, it might improve productivity, reduce drilling time, bit life and also indicate reservoir zone productivity. UBD methods are appearing as an effective solution for drilling issues. However, this...

The Kashmir Issue: Some Options Towards Solution

...The Kashmir Issue: Some options towards solution By Dr. Misbah Islam As we all know the Kashmir issue has been has been a perennial problem ever since the birth of Pakistan. Kashmir is one of the two most intractable problems that have stymied the world for so long resulting in horrendous loss of life and negative impact on the development of the belligerants. Nature of the Problem: The origins of the Kashmir issue lie in the illegal instrument of accession to India signed on October 26, 1947 by Raja Hari Singh that violated the rights and hopes of 77% Muslim population of Kashmiris to join Pakistan. It has resulted in or associated with at least four major wars: 1948, 1965, 1971 and 1999. Besides loss of liberty for 10 million people it has entailed loss of lives (more than 102,000), in the form of executions, bombardment and disappearances, horrendous tortures, injuries, crimes against women, destruction of property, businesses and the list goes on [Ref 1]. No value can ever be assigned to the psychological losses. So far India has refused visits by Amnesty International to investigate and report impartially. We have also to take into account other costs. The purpose of this exercise is to highlight the seriousness of the issue and to prove Pakistan’s commitment to the cause. The Kashmir issue has involved direct expenditure in terms of resources: military, diplomatic, journalistic and so on. Resources, that could have been better spent for mitigating and solving...

Major Issues Concernig Saarc Countries & Its Solutions

...• The biggest problem faced by any SAARC country is poverty. Poverty has a wide spectrum of causes which vary from country to country. Issues like Naxalism in India, Civil wars in Sri Lanka, Terrorism in Pakistan have a direct link to poverty. Illiteracy and ignorance have resulted in an unbridled rise in population in many under developed nations. This is one of the alarming problems faced by the world considering its impact on global food and commodity market. The impact is so severe that, India which once was an exporter of food grains became an importer. The literacy rate of a country is dependent on socio-economic status of the people. This problem can be viewed from the other side in a different way. Though the land under cultivation in India is more than that of China, Indian agriculture can't feed its own people, while the Chinese could feed themselves. 60% people in India rely on agriculture directly, but its contribution towards GDP is just around 20% to 30% .Lack of implementation of modern technology in the field of agriculture, fragmented land holdings, low irrigation potential, unviable returns etc can be shown as the causes here. Considering the GDP as the bench mark for development of a country, India registered a growth rate around 9% only after globalization in 1991. This clearly indicates that market based economy with minimum regulations encourage entrepreneurship. Survival of small scale and micro level industries is one of the key aspects in the success...

Iphone Issues

...EXECUTIVE SUMMARY This paper analyses what were the effects of the antenna issues with IPhone that was launched on June 25th, 2010 and how it impacted the users and its service providers. This paper focuses on the impact of this issue on the demand, reliability of that product and the stakeholders. ISSUES INVOLVED The two issues that were related to the antenna of IPhone were: • If the user would touch the antenna located on the outside of phone in two places, the phone’s reception would drop, while in use. This was a major issue as the consumers were not free to handle the iPhone the way they like. This issue set restrictions on the way of holding the handset. • Another issue was that the phone would drop 4 or 5 signal bars if it was held tightly in a particular manner. The tight grip on the covering of the back strip in the lower left corner of metal band would lead to this problem. Again, this was a problem for the owners to handle the iPhone in any particular manner. These issues were big problems for the users as they did not expect such kind of hardware issues from a smartphone, that too from the designers of Apple. IMPACT OF THE ISSUES ON STAKEHOLDERS 1. Consumers The issue of hardware failure due to antenna problem led to distress in customers. The customers planned on suing Apple and AT&T. The legal challenge was initiated by California law firm Kershaw, Cutter & Ratinoff. They set up a website to recruit the unsatisfied IPhone 4 buyers for a lawsuit against...
