Responsibilities of Success

...Responsibilities of Success GEN/200 Responsibilities of Success While life happens and we sometimes have no idea on the direction in which it takes us, personal responsibility takes maturity and it is not a privilege to take lightly. It is being accountable for the decisions we make in our lives whether it has a positive or negative outcome. By taking responsibility in the decisions we make, it allows people to see big part of who we are as an individual. It also can truly highlight our accomplishments and hard work. Being responsible also allows you to be in control of your daily life and the environment that surrounds you like family, employment, and education. Responsibilities take many forms and can be applied in diverse situations in our daily lives. From being the head of the family and taking accountability of providing, loving, teaching, and guiding your children to a positive future. Being the provider is definitely not an easy job and small mistakes can be detrimental to a household.“Mistakes happen, so occasionally what appears to be a lack of responsibility is really nothing more than poor planning and/or time management. Being responsible takes planning and meaningful communication, which in some instances may require us to say “no” even when we might want to say “yes” (Zavod, 2011, p. 77). We have to consider all the things that are liable to go wrong if we fail to be organized with finances, schedules, and communicating important information with your significant...

The MPI index is armed with a wide variety of dimensions and weighted measurements that it uses to come up with ratings. Some of those are Market Size, Market Intensity, Market Consumption Capacity, Market Growth Rate, Commercial Infrastructure, Market Receptivity, Economic Freedom, and Country Risk. Measurements draw upon Urban Population, Real GDP (gross domestic product) Growth Rate, Electrical Consumption, technology use ( IT, smartphones, PCs, TVs), etc. Sharing the boon of modernization, privatization, and fast industrialization, these emerging markets comprise almost fifty percent of the world’s population and account for a large portion of the world’s output. Sensory and Nervous System

...only a few thousand cells, and generally only 2 mm across, this species does not even seem as though it should be considered part of the animal kingdom at all (Campbell, 2005, p. 639). This “flat organism creeps on algae” and has been found in warm waters from all over the world (Nielson, 2001, p. 48). The placozoans are thought to be a sister group to the eumetazoans because they have similar features, however, “the complete lack of a nervous system sets Trichoplax aside from eumetazoans” (Nielson, 2001, p. 50). Due to the fact that this animal “exhibits limited specialization and organization of cells,” placozoans do not have any sensory or nervous system (Sumich, 2004, p. 132). [pic] Phylum Porifera is more commonly known as sponges. “Sponges are simple, sessile animals that lack true tissues” (Campbell, 2005, p. 639). Sponges do not have a specific system or group of organs and cells that make up a nervous system. Although sponges lack a nervous system, epithelial cells play an important role in the conduction of stimuli (Floreano, 1999, p. 237). “There is no system of coordination, so the responses to stimuli are very simple” (Puranik, 2007, p. 108). The way the sponge’s body is arranged, as a loose arrangement of cells, makes the body “devoid of power of conductivity” (Puranik, 2007, p. 108). When a sponge undergoes a very strong stimulus, such as a cut, there is no transmission sent through the sponge for more than 3 to 4mm over the surface of the sponge....

There is a lot of reading – I strongly recommend you take notes. Attendance is absolutely essential (and is 25% of your grade). We have a lot to cover and a short time to cover it. While the textbook is the primary source, there are supplemental readings and topics that will come up in class, including current events, which may well find their way into an exam. If you cannot attend, it is your obligation to ensure that you borrow someone’s notes so that you do not miss anything. Blackboard, e-mail and Lexis/Nexis Supplemental readings will usually be posted on Blackboard and I will also e-mail if there are new postings. Some cases will be accessible through Lexis/Nexis which is available through the Babson Library website. I will navigate you through that website during the class. Executive Summary Group work and team work have especially become indispensible to the achievement of success in the world. Group work and team work have been used since the beginning of humanity. So what has changed? Competitiveness has forced a substantially, reduced cycle time requirement to turnaround capabilities and products in a much shorter period of time. An individual’s effort to achieve the required cycle time would not meet requirements on a number of levels: the requirement for various knowledge and skills, enhanced decision making by leveraging the strengths of diversity and assurance that the required quality would be met. However, group and team work has challenges. The strengths...
