Offering Higher Post to the Fresh Graduates Towards Employee Satisfaction: an Empirical Study on Private Commercial Banks of Bangladesh

...specialized development banks, thirty eight private commercial Banks and nine foreign commercial banks. Hence we can easily say that the private commercial banks (PCBs) comprise for the largest portion of the banking sector. The banking sector has attracted a lot of fresh graduates for a very long time because of their work environment and other facilities that they provide. Moreover, the work environment and culture of the private commercial banks are such that the employees are motivated to work and prove themselves to their employers. One such approach made by PCBs was to offer a higher post to the young, newly hired graduates as they believed that this would help to increase employee satisfaction. This strategy has by many means been successful as well as a little unsuccessful for the banks. The overall study shows that simply hiring employees in higher posts cannot increase their overall job satisfaction; rather, a lot of other factors also need to be considered in order to ensure the satisfaction of the employees. 2.0 OBJECTIVE The main objective of this paper is to show how much effective the attempt was made by the owners of the PCBs to increase employee satisfaction by recruiting the fresh graduates in higher posts. For this reason, we have worked with six such commercial banks and interviewed their employees to find out the present scenario. With the vast array of PCBs that are operating in Bangladesh, it is by every means the most sought job sector by the......

7 Eleven

... He couldn’t help wondering: What’s wrong with the company’s strategy that was so successful in such overseas markets as Japan, Taiwan, and US, but failed the competition in Shanghai? What contributes to the competitor’s success? Is it because the voluntary chain style that FmailyMart adopts is superior than the regular chain style that 7-eleven adopts in Shanghai? If 7-eleven were to open its market by changing the regular chain style to voluntary chain style, would it turn the situation around or would it evoke new problems? Obsessed with all of these questions, Allen realized that it is time for some changes for the company to achieve its initial goals and as the big market share as possible in this promising market. CONTEXT THE CVS (CONVENIENT STORE) INDUSTRY The prosperity of the convenient stores is because supermarkets are almost all of large scales and in the suburbs. The changes of supermarkets are reflected on the aspects like distance, time, goods, and services etc. e.g. people who live far away from the supermarkets have to drive to do shopping which takes a long time and energy for buyers if the supermarket is very large and there are varieties of goods in it. And people have to wait for a long time at the cashier. All of these make people who...

The Mumbai Job - a Strategy Negotiation & Conflict Management Case Study

...SNCM Case: The Mumbai Job It was a cloudy day in Bangalore when I got the email. The weather was cool and pleasant and I had just finished my lunch. The email changed the complacence and deep satisfaction in my mind. The mail was sent via the most popular online professional network which had become the most used website by headhunters and job hunters. September 2010 was not exactly the peak hiring season as the global economy was still showing no signs of recovery from the recession; and I was not actively looking for a job. So, I was pleasantly surprised to see an email from a big firm in India which sought to talk to me about an open position they had in Mumbai. Little did I know how much that one email would change the next few years of my life! I thought for a while about the invite and decided to “give it a try”. After all, I had nothing to lose if I didn’t make it through the first round of interviews. But secretly, I knew I would go all the way to the final round because I was an expert in a proprietary technology which was used in just 3 companies across India and I was the best trainer in that field. This was cemented by a line in the job description which required “training experience is a must”. So, at the back of the mind, I was just curious to know “what am I worth in the market today?” Thus, began my story which ended with the first salary negotiation of my life. About the Company L&T Infotech is a subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro (L&T), which is the largest...
