The Notion of Civics The subject field of civics originates from the nature of human being itself i.e. from the natural behavior and level of interaction of human beings it self. One basic nature of human beings related with this statement is the fact that “man is a social animal” whose life is closely related to each other. Almost all instincts, demands and progresses of human beings are fulfilled in society. The superiority that human beings try to achieve over nature and other living things is the result of the social bond among human beings. If such bond is a requirement for the survival of human beings, then what should be the pattern of social interaction that exist among human beings is closely related with the subject matter of civics. In this regard civics is considered as a subject field which is mainly concerned with teaching citizens as to how they can live harmonious and peaceful life with other citizens and as to how they can resolve conflicts peacefully among them selves. The other basic nature of human being is the political view of philosophy by Plato that, “Man is a political animal”, which means no human being can escape from the deeds of politics and its dayto-day life is either directly or indirectly affected by it. For this reason human beings have to know the workings of politics, institutions that affect their day to day life, norms, principles and laws which are set in motion by politicians to govern their societies and above all the duties and rights that they have in the political community in which they are leading their life. So, civics tries to make them familiar with such and other concepts that make them active and awarded citizens. Civics as a branch of social science deals with the right and responsibilities of…...

But as time passes compensation occurs as in other forms of brain injury. the subject is often oblivious to the residual deficit. Unless specific memories essential to daily living are discovered to be unavailable the victim may never know for sure the extent of memory loss. Unless sensitive tests for spontaneous recall of personal preshock data are employed no one else will know either. Some are beginning to give the client a truly informed choice, although state laws still allow ECT to be imposed if the doctor feels that ''good cause'' exists. Assuming free and fully informed Consent, it is well to reaffirm the individual's right to pursue happiness through brain damage if he or she so chooses. Very Good Dude processes—as a driver and a dependency on those processes for root cause and consequence management. A common misconception, and program office practice, concerning risk management is to identify and track issues (vice risks), and then manage the consequences (vice the root causes). This practice tends to mask true risks, and it serves to track rather than resolve or mitigate risks. This guide focuses on risk mitigation planning and implementation rather on risk avoidance, transfer or assumption. Note: Risks should not be confused with issues. If a root cause is described in the past tense, the root cause has already occurred, and hence, it is an issue that needs to be resolved, but it is not a risk. While issue management is one of the main functions of PMs, an important difference between issue management and risk management is that issue management applies resources to address and resolve current issues or problems, while risk management applies resources to mitigate future potential root causes and their consequences. To illustrate the difference between a risk and an issue, consider, for example, a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) sourcing decision process. Questions such as the following should be asked and answered prior to the COTS decision: • “Is there any assurance the sole source provider of critical COTS components will not discontinue the product during government acquisition and usage?” • “Does the government have a......

The One of the Very Best Descriptive Titile

...2AC domestic surveillance The plan limits the surveillance of domestic communication which the NSA has been collecting “incidentally” via Section 702. Tushnet, Professor of Law at Harvard Law School, 15, (Mark, "The Presidential Empire," Dissent Magazine, Spring 2015,, accessed September 11, 2015) JCP-BL Edward Snowden’s revelations brought home the fact that one of the main tasks of the National Surveillance State is indeed surveillance. Much of what Snowden brought to public attention were modernized versions of classical espionage conducted by U.S. spies outside the United States. That sort of espionage was completely consistent with U.S. law. Technology meant, though, that surveillance outside the United States inevitably included information about activities by U.S. citizens both outside the nation’s borders and within them. The statutes creating the framework for this surveillance have provisions aimed at limiting its domestic use to cases with a substantial connection to international terrorism. But, Snowden showed us, those provisions were not fully effective, and the scale of modern surveillance meant that even reasonably effective protections against domestic surveillance still left large numbers of innocent people subject to it. Counter-Interpretation – Domestic surveillance deals with information transmitted within a country HRC 14 (Human Rights Council 2014 IMUNC2014......

...C A.$£~ 3 Jack Brandon's initial idea has not panned out, and the cash is nearly gone. But he's got a new plan. Will you back him a second time? HBR CASE STUDY Good Money After Bad? by John W. Mullins From a rocky perch overlooking the sparkling lights of San Francisco, Christian Harbinson gazed across the bay to the hills above Sausalito. "There's nothing like a vigorous hike;' he thought, "to clear the mind before a crucial meeting:' It was a mild March evening, and the 35-year-old venture capitalist was reflecting on the recommendation he would have to make to his firm's investment committee the next morning about Jack Brandon's young company, Seven Peaks Technologies. Seven Peaks had developed an innovative device for cauterizing blood vessels during electrosurgery, and although the feedback from surgeons had been excellent, sales had been slow. The Palo Alto-based venture capital firm where Harbinson worked, Scharfstein Weekes, had invested $600,000 in Seven Peaks from its newly raised second fund of $100 million. SW's current investment strategy focused on early-stage medical technology companies, and Seven Peaks was a typical investment for the firm, which liked to get in on promising ideas modestly and then follow with additional rounds of capital after technological and market milestones had been met. The $600,000 was nearly gone; Harbinson and his colleagues had to decide whether to put more into the......
