Some Essential Tips On How To Write An Essay About Yourself
No matter what’s the purpose of your essay, there is a preset number of points that you will be expected to address.
The main line should be that you are not a robot, and that it is your feelings and emotions that define you as a personality. Do not get stuck with material possessions and what you have achieved in life. That has to do only with a small portion of who you are. * Avoid overly simplified ideas. You are a human being after all, and your life is not as simple as it may seem after years of school. You wouldn’t want to seem or sound...

Love Letter

...sleeping the whole day and I got so many thoughts playing on my mind so I choose to rise get the laptop and type. 1. Second to my final destination ( … Well this is not a horror film; this destination I’m talking about is the force or factor that makes me go and face every life’s circumstances I am facing. My ultimate dream is to become a flight attendant, cabin crew, flight crew or whatever they call this. Yes, I’ve been dreaming to become one someday and I am trying to give my very best for this not to become an unclear vision. I want this to manifest, I want this to happen in my life in every good ways or means I can. As I’ve said on my recent posts, I love to go somewhere, I love to experience different culture, and I want to meet new and different people. There are some times in my life when I face mirror, stand classically and gracefully and try to imitate flight attendants posture and speaking. I used to act like there are passengers and I am orienting them with safety procedures inside the plane. To train to become a flight attendant costs so much, that’s why my parents wasn’t able to send me to those schools practicing this course. But I’ve got this what they called life’s principle. I believe with all my heart that nothing is definitely impossible that my future has been planned and decided. I just love the thought that God is faithful, with His words, His promises and plans. I trust Him with this. This is my heart’s very secret petition to heaven and to......

...“the day I lost Louise, a day I prayed I would never see,” he continued, “I did my normal morning routine. On my way out, I kissed Louise goodbye. There’s no doubt that I loved her. I had no idea that would be the last time I saw her wonderful smile. Such an amazing woman, inside and out. Sometimes I felt like giving up on her because of the heart trouble, but I quickly fell back under her spell − so kind-hearted and loving. I learned to deal with such…oppression, that is, knowing that it was something she had absolutely no control over. She was genuinely the woman I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. At times, I wish I had been the one to go that day. Then I imagine how she would have felt if I would have been the one to die. She sure wouldn’t have been any better off than I was in that moment. She sure wouldn’t be any more depressed than I am now…sure wouldn’t be any more uncertain about the future than I am,” he explained. “It was such an unfortunate loss, Brent. I just can’t even imagine how you could live and move on from that,” Richards said. “Well, Rich, it’s certainly not as easy as I thought it would be,” Brently explained, “and, not to mention, I still feel somewhat responsible for her death.” Brently felt guilty for sure, but not so much as relieved, after the passing of Louise. It was almost as if he had been suffocating in his marriage, and now that Louise was out of his life, he could finally breathe after so many years of not being able to. Brently......

A Happy Meal for a Happy Mind

...girl I always thought it was a treat to visit McDonalds. This magical place had a giant play-place, ice cream, French fries and of course that special surprise toy contained inside the happy meal. What else could I have wanted? This world lost all of its glamour however, when I became a teen who experienced the inner workings of this land from the side of employment. I will never forget the place that was to be my first experience of the working world. My Fifteenth birthday had just passed and this meant I was finally old enough to enter the work force. So I went to the only place in the area that would hire a kid without experience or a driver’s license, McDonalds. Now, I wasn't entirely thrilled about the idea of working in this environment but if I wanted to get a car in the next year it was off to work for me. Somewhat sullenly, I donned my uniformed baseball cap and made my way behind the service counter. Feeling a little nervous, I fumbled as I attempted to tie my apron behind my back. I began to wonder what I might be assigned to do first. "Well, as long as I can work behind the scenes and avoid talking to people I should be okay." I thought. Standing motionless, I observed the fast-food frenzied scene. Employees were running here and there yelling to one another, order screens were flashing, various machines were buzzing incessantly and a mass of customers waited to be attended...

What Do You Expect

...“actually good”. I feel that what I need to be successful is hands on learning. At ITT I plan to achieve a career, not just to float through life one “job” after another. A goal that I started to attain before leaving high school is developing the ability to see the value in maintaining a positive attitude, regardless of the circumstances. When I include my goal in the curriculum, I have a better understanding on how positive words, positive character traits and positive thinking can impact life immediately now and in the future. Another goal of mine is to be happy. To be happy is the most important thing there is because you only have one life and if you go through it fighting, competing and struggling you have wasted your one life. Being a human on this planet is like winning the lotto and if people would act that way we could all help each other and try to make the time we have not be a waste. I think that's my ultimate goal... I don't know that it's everyone's, if it's THE ultimate goal or even if there is a THE ultimate goal. Also I was thinking that there is a difference between being happy and being gratified. To me being gratified is having enough food, money, air, friends, love, support, a car, a vacation every couple of months, and maybe chocolate brownies... Basically to me being gratified is about having enough good stuff come my way. Whereas being happy seems to me to be the effect of having good stuff come out of me, like kindness,...

Lifes Lessons

...September 9, 2014 Life Lessons Life is full of obstacles that you have to figure out how to maneuver around. It is full of challenges that you have to overcome. When you lose a loved one, you feel like it’s the end for you as well. Hopefully you can overcome the sadness and learn how to deal with not only the pain but also putting your life in order as well. I grew up with an older sister and a younger brother. Our parents were constantly gone. Busy working or out with friends. That left my siblings and I alone a lot. We taught ourselves to take care of each other. Mentally, physically and emotionally we were all each other had. That made the relationship we had with each other stronger than it could ever be. A promise was made between the three of us that we would always be there for one another. We would always help each other no matter what the circumstances were, and we would always protect each other. On January 7, 2009 my world changed forever. My brother was in a severe single vehicle accident that killed him. Alcohol and speed were both factors in the accident. Neither my brother nor his passenger was wearing their seat belts. Both were ejected from the vehicle. My brother lived long enough for me and my sister to get to the hospital and say our final goodbyes. His passenger lived, but sustained a broken neck that has healed. My brother left behind a one year old daughter and a daughter on the way. He had life insurance but did not have a...

Wheel of Life Strategies

...Wheel of Life Strategies and How They Will Be Applied In My Life I am beginning my applied wheel of life strategy with Les Brown’s “You Gotta Be Hungry” video. I was very skeptical about listening to any motivational speaker over the years of my life because I did not feel anyone could tell me how to improve myself. I have always been a hard worker striving to reach the high pillars of any job I worked. Went to work early, stayed late and did whatever was asked of me by my supervisors until I learned to do things without asking or being asked to do them. This was what I thought living was. As I listened to Les Brown, I began to realize I don’t know jack. Even though my work ethic is stronger than most, I haven’t even scratched the surface of reaching my full potential in life. The first thing that hit me hard was hearing Les tell me to overcome negative conversations and stop listening to the critics and myself and just say ‘NO!’ to them all, including myself. That hit me hard because when I go to an interview I have second thoughts and psych myself out and then I’m all nervous and the interview isn’t as smooth and solid as it should be. Takes me about 10 to 15 minutes into the interview to begin to relax. I know I have what it takes to rock interviews and ensure I am the best candidate for the position I applied for. I have to learn to replace the negative conversations with positive ones. While I am in school, I have been looking for a job until I finish my schooling and......

...TO MY FIRST LOVE I can’t say that I loved you from the moment that we met. I can’t say that we were meant to be or that after years of separation we’ll finally break the walls that separate us and be one once more. I can’t say that in the time we’ve been apart I’ve become a better person, better for you….better for us. If I said anything along these lines it would have been a lie. There’s much I want to tell you and a lot that I know I shouldn’t. Let’s start at the beginning: I remember when we met. You were one of the popular people. I was not. Everyday prior to our meeting I was nothing more than a background image on a less-than-boring wall. But for some reason on this day you chose to acknowledge me. On this day you chose to talk to me. I’ll probably never know why, or care why for that matter, but you did and since then my life has never been the same. As if you pulled me into light from the dark, or as though you created something out of nothing I had existence. I had meaning in my life. And that meaning was you. I would wake up every morning just to see you smile. I would miss my bus on purpose just to spend a few extra moments in your presence. I would shed the few nickels and dimes I had to give you whatever happiness money could buy. I would have given you the earth, the moon and even the sun if it so pleased you. I would have done it all. When you’re young everyone tells you to shoot for the stars, but no one tells you how dangerous ambition can be. No......

Media Worldview

...Brandy Cain March 2, 2013 CVW 101 G. Malloy Media Worldview The movie I chose was It’s A Wonderful Life. It is one of my favorite movies. I think it’s a classic and everyone should watch it at least once. The movie is based on the life of George Bailey. You know from the beginning that the worldview is Christian because it starts with everyone praying for George. George is a troubled man going thru a hard time and an angel named Clarence Odbody comes down to show him how different his life would be if he had never been born. Clarence has to save George so he can obtain his wings. The head angels Franklin and Joseph show Clarence Georges life up till now. George lives in New Bedford, NY. It’s a small town where everyone knows everyone. George’s father owns the Bailey Building and Loan Association. From when George was a child to his adult life the Bailey Building and Loan Association is in danger of going out of business. George Bailey is the type of person who sacrifices his own dreams for those of others. When George was 12 he saved his baby brother Harry after he falls into a frozen pond. He ended up losing his earring after getting a cold from being in the freezing water. George worked at the local pharmacy. He realized that the druggist, Mr. Gower, has just received a telegram saying that his son had died. He was so distraught that he put poison in a pill supposed to be given to a child. George notices this and doesn’t deliver the medicine. The......

A Word from R Gopalakrishnan -Tata Sons

...A word from R Gopalakrishnan -Tata Sons There is a Thai saying that experience is a comb, which Nature gives to man after he is bald. As I grow bald, I would like to share my comb with your people, about their career ahead. 1. Seek out grassroots level experience: I studied Physics and Engineering at University. A few months before graduation, I appeared for an HLL interview for Computer Traineeship. When asked whether I would consider Marketing instead of Computers, I responded negatively: an engineer to visit grocery shops to sell Dalda or Lifebuoy? Gosh, no way. After I joined the Company and a couple of comfortable weeks in the swanky Head Office, I was given a train ticket to go to Nasik. Would I please meet Mr. Kelkar to whom I would be attached for the next two months? He would teach me to work as a salesman in his territory, which included staying in Kopargaon and Pimpalgaon among other small towns. I was most upset. In a town called Ozhar, I was moving around from shop to shop with a bullock cart full of products and a salesman's folder in my hand. Imagine my embarrassment when an IIT friend appeared in front of me in Ozhar, believe it or not! and exclaimed, "Gopal, I thought you joined as a Management Trainee in Computers". I could have died a thousand deaths. After this leveling experience, I was less embarrassed to work as a Dispatch Clerk in the Company Depot and an Invoice Clerk in the Accounts Department. Several years later, I realized the value of......

Why Do We Love It's a Wonderful Life?

...Why Do We Love It’s a Wonderful Life? Fantasy is defined as anything that has no solid foundation in reality. Elements of fantasy are used in It’s a Wonderful Life to convey themes and create an interesting structure which amplifies these themes, ultimately winning the hearts of the American people. The genre of fantasy allows you to escape reality and lets your imagination ignite a world in which you have not seen before. In the film there are elements such as a parallel world, flashbacks, an overall fight of good versus evil, control the playback of reality, guardian angels, an attempt to complete a goal, and later an effort to ‘save a community’. In It’s a Wonderful Life director Frank Capra illustrates many elements of fantasy, in which is pulls you into a new world, constructed by imagination. The opening credits, which are illustrated on a story book, are where the ‘fairy-tale’ and fantasy mixture begins. As the first scene opens the town sign is covered in snow, as well as the ground, indicting a Wintery Wonderland, as the camera scans to the town of Bedford Falls. Capra demonstrates the typical small town, the snow covered ground, lights stung in the trees lining the sidewalks, and specialty shops. Even though it looks and seems completely normal you will still have the feeling of an imaginary or fantasy land. The film begins in the present time; the year is 1945 on Christmas Eve. Voiceovers occur, praying for George Bailey. After hearing such prayers,...

...We all have our own way of thinking when it comes to life and death affirmations. The thoughts and opinions on this subject vary and have a variety of beliefs. They have been instilled in us by a combination of things, some being our up bringing and religious beliefs. Life affirmation is how we let our attitudes and or thoughts affect our lives. It is our mind frame on whether or not we have a positive or negative attitude towards it.. Life I believe is the time that a person is given to live on this earth and the meaning of life is what we make it out to be. Death affirmation is the view that we have on mortality and what happens to us when we die. There are many opinions about whether life continues on after death or not (Janaro,Altshuler,517). There is a religious view that is expressed through the writings in Bibles and can be seen through the artistry of the words that are used to describe many different aspects of life. Life and death affirmation is something that all of us should face willingly or we might be forced to face at some point in time throughout our lives. Throughout this discovery search about life and death affirmations I have chosen to discuss what the King James Prophesy Bible and the movie It's A Wonderful Life is able to show about their views on life and death. In my opinion these two affirmations tie in together. Literature: When describing death in literature the writings enable the readers to expand their thoughts in many ways, for......

Three Things I Value Most

...When I was asked to write this, I was a bit overwhelmed because as I started reflecting on my life. And I was even more overwhelmed when I realized that, in the perspective of a full life. Nevertheless, I’ve adopted a few simple philosophies that have helped me get through life. Trust your instincts: Your instincts are there for a reason. So LISTEN TO YOURSELF!!! Recognize that feeling in your gut when something is off. Or let your instincts lead you to the right decision in an extremely difficult situation. It’s not always easy to trust them, and I’ve always found that, for some reason, the voice in your head called “logic” will try to hush those instincts. Logic will talk you into playing it safe and may rob you of opportunities. If I had listened to myself saying I lacked experience required to tackle the leadership positions. I would have lost the chance to positively impact myself and others, and I’d be a very different person right now. I’m not suggesting you dismiss your brain altogether. Just consider going with your instincts first, then incorporate logic second. “But what if my instincts are wrong?” Well, they will be sometimes, but you must possess the belief in yourself to allow those instincts to shine through and the confidence to act upon them. Which leads me to point #2… Live confidently: We all know someone that lives life with confidence. Can you picture him or her? In the most trying situations they can be calm, cool and collected. And their......
