The film depicts how cultures, hatred and the fight over territory lead to the hardship of interracial relationships. The “natural” relationship between Jack and Cora, causes it not to be destroyed. While, the “abomination” relationship between Alice and Unca ultimately leads to the downfall of both characters. As the relationship between Alice and Unca develop, it was unavoidable that they would not end with a happy, cookie-cutter ending. The death of Unca and the suicide of Alice is reminiscent to the death of Romeo and Juliet. Unca and Alice were willing to do anything to save one another, but society’s rules and standards inevitably killed both of them. Another interracial relationship in the film was, Jack and Chingachgook. No matter what
