Jack Kate And Hurley's Role In A Short Story

Jack, Kate, and Hurley play a phenomenon role in the development of Lost’s story line. Even though Jack Shepherd was able to escape the highland with the two survivors among others, their escape was short lived and they had to go back. Jack, Kate, and Hurley must return to the island for several crucial reasons and roles they play. To begin with, Jack’s role in maintaining law and order is very crucial for the survival of the entire lot in the island (Danwahn). He is the only hope and center of authority and the people in the island had built their trust in him. Jack showed great strength and resilience and he was also very effectively in giving the rest of the people hope.
As a result, he is the only one who can controlled the confused lot of survivors in the jungle. Kate on the other had to go back to the island because she also played a major role in creating a sense of authority. She was very crucial in the leadership structure that had already been established by Jack and it was important for her to go back and help the rest of the survivors (Danwahn). Besides, her life was not any better on the outside than it was in the island. Out of the island she had murder charges to answer for and lots of law suits. Jack also needed Kate’s support in leading the people so she was in a great way very influential. …show more content…
Hurley’s fate was the same and his life was hectic outside the island. He was seeing vision of dead people and this worsened till he was admitted in a mental institution. It became worse when he was taken to a safe house where he was eventually not safe after been mistaken for a murderer (Danwahn). After he was released having been found not guilty, he met a man who convinced him to go back to the island to avoid the harsh life outside it.
