Brief Bio: Jaynie Schultz (early fifties), is President and co-founder of Retreat Central, a “matchmaker” created to serve event planners looking for facilities outside the traditional hotel market. Retreat Central works with children’s summer camps which function as retreat centers during the school year. These retreat centers are affordable, accessible and dedicated to group events, while providing the camps with an additional source of revenue during their off-seasons.

In 1986 Jaynie and her mother, Leslie V. Schultz created the now-closed Garrett Creek Ranch retreat center and was its founding director of sales and marketing.

Family: Jaynie is married to Ron Romaner, owner of The Yiddishe Kup, a bakery housed on the Schultz Rosenberg campus and a Stay-At-Home-Dad to his and Jaynie’s five children

Her father is Howard Schultz, the founder and former Chairman of Howard Schultz & Associates, a provider of accounts-payable and auditing services that was acquired by Profit Recovery Group in 2002. Howard and Leslie Schultz have also been generous philanthropists in the Dallas Jewish community, most notably co-founding the Schultz-Rosenberg Campus, the home of the Akiba Academy and the Yavneh Academy-Jewish Day Schools.

Schultz Fanily Foundation: Jaynie is the President of the Schultz Family Foundation (formerly the Howard and Leslie Schultz family Foundation. Since 2011 foundation, which maintains assets of about $3 million, has awarded approximately $350,000-$750,000 a year, most of which have been to Dallas-based Jewish non-profits.

The majority of these were in the $20,000 to $75,000 range, although each of these years, the foundation also made one larger gift in the low six-figures ($119,999-$304,000) to the Jewish Federation Greater Dallas.
