Jeffrey Arnett’s Theory of Emerging Adulthood

Jeffrey Jensen Arnett: He first introduced the term “Emerging Adulthood” in 1994. His theory describes how individuals emerge into adulthood between the ages 18 – 25. He looks into how the media/society effects the way an individual reacts.

What is Emerging Adulthood Theory?
Emerging Adulthood is a new developmental stage between adolescence and young adulthood (18-25). Many adults in their mid-twenties are choosing to get marry and have children later on in their life. At this age they are focused on themselves and their job, schooling, or partner.
