The internet is like an electronic drug that we just cannot give up. We seem to always find ourselves glued to our phones or to our screens. However, the addiction of social media not only affects our socializing skills as humans but it can also effect on how it is taking 20 somethings to transition into an adult. In Robin Marantz Henig most recent studies, she explores the ascending question of why are so many people in their 20s taking so long to grow up. With the different theories such as Jeffrey Arnett’s “emerging adulthood” theory, she was able to better understand the ascending question. Nevertheless, social media also plays a role on why it is taking 20 somethings so long to grow up. 20 somethings in today’s society is so engrossed to their phones that they are not really focused on what is going around them in the world and they do not engage in face- to- face interactions. ...
