Jeremiah 1 Research Paper

As a Christian, I know that I came from Jesus. In Jeremiah 1:5, Jeremiah describes an encounter with the Lord. Jeremiah writes, "Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I set you apart for my holy purpose. I appointed you to be a prophet to the nations." God formed me and created me because He has a specific purpose for my life. Genesis 2:7 says, “Then the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man's nostrils, and the man became a living person.” God created Adam, and from him He created Eve. I am a descendent of Adam and Eve, the very first creation of man by God. I am a child of God, created to work for His purpose. I am a sinner, because I am a descendent of the imperfect Adam and Eve who at first lacked the Holy Spirit. My purpose is to glorify God, and share His word with others. He has given me talents …show more content…
When a non-Christian dies, I think they go straight to hell. The idea of Heaven is always thought of as waiting in line at pearly gates until you hear your name called, as if there is a chance that your name will not be called. I think that if you are a Christian who has accepted Jesus as your savior, there is no waiting or holding place that you go to before you “get in” to Heaven. Once you die, you will meet your savior face to face. If Jesus comes back before I die on earth, I believe the scripture of Matthew 7:21-23 to be true. It says, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ “ Those who believe in Jesus will have no fear of that

...first time writing papers since I attended graduate school in 1996. Like the students in the article, I did not receive direct instruction on how to prevent plagiarism. As a graduate level student, I was advised by a professor to not copy information when writing, handed a plagiarism policy and warned of the consequences. That was the extent of it. As a Christian, I am called to live my life in such a way that reflects Jesus in all I do. The Holy Spirit within me helps me do this. While I would not purposely copy someone else’s ideas and present them as my own, I do find myself worrying about unintentional plagiarism in my writing. Do I paraphrase or summarize correctly? Do I cite properly? Are those supposed to be page numbers in parentheses or just the author’s last name and...

Babylon and the Old Empire

...Research Paper The Babylonian Empire and the Old Testament Submitted to Dr. Curtis Fitzgerald, Ph.D, In partial fulfillment of the requirements for the completion of the course OBST 520 LUO (Summer 2014) Old Testament Orientation II Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary Marcus Banks-Bey_L2444950 June 29, 2014 Thesis Statement This research paper will discuss, and review the history of the Babylion Empire, its rulers, and the Empire’s influential relationship upon some of the major events which developed within Old Testament literature. Introduction Through my research, it is my intent to identify significant points within the history of the Babylion Empire, including its origins, development, expansion, eventual decline, and why it became a focal point of many of the major events of the Old Testament. From the Great Empire of Akkad, Babylon became a major seat of learning, culture, and technology. More than simply a city-state of defiance, and sinful practices, Babylon’s influence, very often viewed through a negative scholarly lens, shaped the history of Asia Minor, Northern Africa, and the world when approached from a biblical standpoint. As such, Babylon remains a critical, powerful nation in relation to its nation-state of Israel, and Old Testament history. Nimrod The Cushite The first nation-state identified within contemporary Biblical literature is the land that is “Ethiopia”, as mentioned...

...day He was born until the day He died, Jesus was without sin to be a perfect sacrifice. Since, we are born into the world as sinners, a miraculous entrance into the world was required, and that’s why the virgin birth occurred. “For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do: by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and to deal with sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, so that the just requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.” (Romans 8:3-4) It was said that if Jesus had be the son of Joseph, he wouldn’t have been able to claim the throne of David. Reflection

...INTRODUCTION This paper was written based on the faith of Christians. Furthermore, the research referenced the Holy Bible as it is the sole basis of Christians for their doctrines and faith. The progression of the essays was written in accordance on how I think the doctrines of Christians were regarded. Section one: Did Jesus claim to be God?, discloses the dissimilar stand for Christians on the true state of Jesus Christ whether His is God or is He a man or is He God and a man at the Same time. Section two: Does the Bible Have Authority, discusses how the Christians were made to accept as true that the Bible is the sole basis for the words of God. Section three: How can we be confident that Jesus is returning?, opens the notion on where we are heading after our journey in this world. DID JESUS CLAIM TO BE GOD? The confusion on the true state of Jesus Christ often disrupts the mind of the believers on choosing their stand. However, the Holy Scriptures have the apparent stand on the issue on how to recognize Jesus Christ. Believers were divided to three groups on their belief on Christ’s true status such as: Jesus Christ is God, Jesus Christ is a man and last of all, Jesus Christ is God and a man at the same time. According to Apostle Paul, Jesus Christ is a man however a man that serves as the lone mediator of man to God (I Timothy 2:5). According to Apostle Peter, Jesus Christ is man approved of God by miracles and wonders and signs (Acts 2:22). Moreover, Apostle...

Spiritual Gifts

...Sherri L Hull CHMN 201-D05 04/07/2014 Spiritual Gifts Paper Part One: What are my top 2 spiritual gift? Do I agree with the results? Why or Why not? The top two spiritual gifts from my assessment were Administration and Teaching, with Pastor/Shepherd receiving the same assessment score. Based on my background in Purchasing and Job Costing, I would have to agree with the Administration score; however, Teaching and Pastor/Shepherd has me somewhat confused. The descriptions of each of these, and how they appear to go hand-in-hand does; however, make sense. According to the assessment descriptions, if a person scores high in Teaching but not in Pastor/Shepherding they probably would not make a good Sunday school teacher; therefore, receiving the same score arouses my curiosity what does God see something in me, that I do not. My position as a job costing supervisor has taught me to account for each material being used in the manufacturing industry. Along with my former purchasing responsibilities, both positions back up the assessment score in Administration. The assessment further defines my score in Teaching/Shepherding, as a person who enjoys research. At times this person can be technical. This would represent the details of any given work or research being done, everything needs an explanation. It also defines the person as one who needs to be accommodating when deadlines near and pressure increases. This skillset may become beneficial to the calling I believe...

Social Marketing

...FRAMEWORK FOR MEASURING RESULTS IN SOCIAL MEDIA JOHN LOVETT AND JEREMIAH OWYANG WITH ERIC T. PETERSON, CHARLENE LI AND CHRISTINE TRAN EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Business Must Adopt A Measurement Framework For Success. The rapid evolution of the web and digital media over the past decade illustrates that we operate in an environment that is constantly in flux. Technologies emerge, communication channels open and consumer behaviors adapt. These changes are apparent in the ways in which consumers interact with marketers and their brands as well as the ways in which consumers empower one another. Yet, as consumer connections, networks and relationships spider to the edges of the globe, marketers take their messages to social media channels with reckless abandon. Organizations that view social marketing as experimental forays jeopardize the relationships they have with their customers because consumers do not regard their actions as frivolous endeavors. They’re making decisions based on the new information they learn from their networks and using that knowledge to take actions and influence others. These actions leave indelible impressions upon brands and the consumers that interact with them. In an effort to help clients better understand the value of these emerging channels on their business, Web Analytics Demystified and Altimeter Group interviewed dozens of companies who are active participants in social media. ...SHOULD ABORTION BE LEGAL? By MARY W. DOUGLAS FINAL PAPER PHL-103INFORMAL LOGIC ANTHONY BIDUCK-INSTRUCTOR SEPTEMBER 8, 2013 Final Paper DouglasM1 Thesis The definition of abortion is the induced termination of a pregnancy followed by the death of the embryo or fetus. The paper is presented on the moral issues of Abortion. Should abortion be legal? As today’s society becomes more open-minded to an issue normally handled behind closed doors being performed by persons with no medical degree whatsoever, the choice should be left to the individual whether or not to have an abortion. Abortion is an eight letter word that has become a label that society applies to the procedure in which a pregnancy is purposely ended for many reasons. Let us examine the subject of legalizing abortion. Argument Abortion has been a very controversial topic for many years. With women’s rights to vote, the right to burn their bras if they wanted to, and the right to eliminate a developing fetus from a woman’s body has become a great debate. Abortion is a subject that questions the morals of an individual and their decision as to whether to have one or not. Moral philosophy has always investigated the rules and principles...
