Not only did the Jews gain something from the black market, but also the non-Jews. In both accounts, it was mentioned how other non-Jews would also participate in the market and sometime even take advantage of the Jews and their position. In Tec, they would steal or sometimes unfairly pay/bargain Jewish vendors for their products. Some non-Jews just participated in the black market by also selling and buying from other Jews. In Levi, the civilians, or “outsiders”, took advantage of the prisoners inside the camp for their own gain. They would offer misleading trades and give less food than what the objects were worth.
