The first reason J.J.'s life should be emulated is because he has won numerous awards. He won the Defensive Player of the Year award 3 times in his first 5 seasons (Rosenthal, Gregg). J.J. is a complete monster on the field. He is very deserving of all the awards he has gotten. The Defensive Player of the Year award goes to the player who gets the most votes. J.J. was the obvious favorite because he hands down had the most votes. He has become known as J.J. Swatt (Merrill, Elizabeth). Justin has become able to time the passes coming off the quarterback's hands and use his athletic skills to jump and knock the ball off its course. It is called the Justin J. Watt foundation. Their goal is to encourage middle school aged children to become involved in athletics, so they can learn the traits of accountability, teamwork, leadership, work ethic, and perseverance (Justin J. Watt Foundation). They host a softball game to raise money for his organization. The game is played at Minute Maid Park in Houston. The offence of the Texans plays the defense in a softball game. Lots of people come out to watch the athletes play a different sport. “The J.J. Watt foundation has raised more than $1,870,000 for 6th to 8th grade students in after school athletic programs”(Justin J. Watt Foundation). This money has been donated to school and sports teams to help purchase equipment and uniforms. Their goal is to raise 2 million dollars. The motto of his organization is “Dream Big, Work Hard” (Justin J. Watt Foundation). This describes J.J.'s life. He has always worked hard at everything he does. When he was little he played hockey and succeeded at that. In high school, he also was a state champion and record setter at his high school in Wisconsin. He was naturally gifted at sports, but also pushed himself to become the best he can be. This foundation has a great leader and will continue to be successful just like how J.J. has been successful in life so
