Onet

...Personally, I found the O*Net to be a great tool. The online database served as a useful starting point for developing the job description because it is so rich in data that is well organized. Among other data, each occupation is provided with a list of tasks, knowledge, skills, abilities, work activities, work context, education, and work styles. However, although it is great that it provides a lot of data, too much data can also be overwhelming. Thus, the person creating a job description should take the data and analyze it in order to create a job description tailored to a specific company context because the data is too generic. Aside for being a tool for gathering data, what I liked the most about the O*NET is that the site could be utilized a career exploration tool. The site can be a career exploration and assessment tools that help individuals (workers and students) identify their work-related interests and abilities and what they consider important on the job, so that they can explore occupations that match their interests, abilities, and preferences. Also, it has a section that provides outlooks for the occupation so that people can monitor occupations and be able to see where there are career opportunities in the market. The advent of managed care, a variety of medical practice arrangements, and a multitude of healthcare specialty areas have resulted in the continual need to understand healthcare law. Unfortunately, due to the rise of malpractice suits, many physicians are protecting themselves by ordering multiple testing procedures, some of which might not be needed. In addition, many patients no longer want older, more conservative approaches to testing and diagnosis – and these newer tests are more expensive. All healthcare professionals need to pay attention to the wishes of their patients. And in the circumstances where the patients has given family members or others authority to make a healthcare decision on their behalf, healthcare professionals must respect the patient’s wishes. ...Erik Ortega BUS 670 Legal Environment Professor David MacKusick August 20, 2015 Many employers are facing the difficult challenge of bringing and recruiting employees that are excellent performers. Most of the companies of today still continue to post vague, bland, and uninteresting job descriptions in the hopes that they will land them a candidate who is the ideal fit for the position and the company as a whole. Having a full recruitment strategy in place eliminates any potential risk when deciding who to employ and bring into your professional life (Caan, 2015). Companies want to hire top performing employees, but most are not aware of strategic and effective ways to help avoid violating any anti-discrimination and other employment law. As (Caan, 2015) states “After shortlisting the final candidates, I like them to carry out a practical task, such as doing a presentation or preparing a report. This is a great way to show whether their bark is bigger than their bite, or if they really do have the goods to deliver on their interviews.” These are some significant tasks that need to be understood and used in a strategic manner to help ensure that the hiring process will attract the best candidate to fill the position. In this paper, I will be preparing an advertisement for the position that my hiring manager is hiring for. In this advertisement, I will be providing the job description, description of duties, and a description of minimum qualifications. I will......

Multi-Tasking

...Assignment 2 – Case Study 12.1 Professor R. Torres June 9, 2012 Justine Charvat Chapter 12 – Case Study 12.1 How does multitasking confuse the resource availability of project team personnel? Multitasking confuses resource availability for project team personnel because the resource availability must be divvied up over many different tasks involving functional duties, as well as project duties. It is usually not possible to say that Team Member A is allotted for x amount of time on this project from Point A to Point B. The x amount of time may go from Point A on a specific project over to Point D on a functional task and then back over to Point A on the specific project. The Team Member may be able to complete the tasks up to Point B, but then is pulled away to work on a task on another project at the beginning of that one. In this way, multitasking does not allow for a continuous and unbroken specified time period to work exclusively on one project or its attendant tasks and this needs to be taken into consideration when scheduling a project’s baseline calendar. “In modern organizations, it is impossible to eliminate multitasking for the average employee.” Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Why? As of the date that I write this, I agree with the above-statement mainly because businesses have found that it is profitable to have employees multitask (Isidore, 2010, para. 13). Employees are afraid of losing their jobs so they tolerate being......

She worked from 1991 – 1993 at a surgical group practice clinic in Cypress, and was responsible for the back room.
