I chose to do this essay on job satisfaction, since I have had a very tough time over the years finding a job I like, I thought it would be a good topic to discuss. Since I went right to work after high school, I basically took a job paying decent money to make ends meet. I ended up taking several years off before returning to school due to financial issues, but not am realizing I should have pursued my degree earlier so I would have had better chances at a satisfying job. Job satisfaction is defined as a pleasurable or positive emotional state resulting from the appraisal of one’s job or job experiences. Job satisfaction is important in any business that wants to be successful. I worked for a company in the past that didn’t care about job satisfaction, the owner just wanted to make money. He did not care about his employees or keeping customers he just wanted to make a quick buck. Due to these conditions, employees were not happy and did not stay around very long. I feel that if employees are satisfied with their jobs they will be more likely to stay with one company.

There are a lot of things that can cause employees to become discourages with their jobs. Things such as high stress, lack of compensation increases or no opportunity for growth and some major issues. If these issues are not improved or even looked at, the result could be the employees looking to leave the organization. I have found that all of these factors have led to me leaving companies. My last job I was there for just about five years, we were treated very poorly. We had no compensation increases in that time, and they nothing to help move into another role.
I think a lot of job satisfaction issues comes from people not doing what they really want too for work. I think the job market now a days limits a lot of people in what they can do. If a person has no interest in
