A tall Muslim teacher in a burka.

When I first chose it I did it for a purpose. At my job I had taken a sick day for EID because my boyfriend is Muslim and we wanted to celebrate while I used it as a learning experience. The discrimination I have endured ever since is sickening. There were people calling him a terrorist and telling my supervisor that He and I were part of Isis. It is sad that people are so brain washed by the T.V. What makes me even sadder is that there are teachers, children, and families who have dealt with this ignorance their entire life in America. Donald Trump is promoting this racism and it’s like America is going in reverse to the time where there were slaves. What’s even sicker is that more than half of the population is supporting this disturbing behavior and inequalities throughout the nation!
To make it easy, I will use my boyfriend’s background is being from Morocco. I come from a family that’s mother stayed at home and the father worked on a College Institute as a security guard. The family lived in a government owned property provided through his job. The pay there is low and schools are unfunded. People think of Morocco being one of the luckier countries being so close to Europe , but it is still a third world country. There is no plumbing, hot water, and other things in the homes that we American’s take for granted.
My boyfriend deals with the ignorance by either ignoring, explaining the real view (not isis view), and also by cutting out newspaper articles about Muslims that both depict the religion in a negative way and a positive way. This assignment gave me a creative idea for when I am in the classroom. I will do a section on each religion and for Muslims the topic will be the media. I will sue the articles to create assignments and at the end have them collage the titles to add some fun to it.

I learn three ways to capture someone username and password. You can do that by eavesdropping, dumpster diving, and social engineering. People are also hacking into users’ networks. Sidejacking is a way where hijackers capture a user cookie. I learned in details more about malware. Malware consists of virus, worm, and spyware. Viruses are a code that has been added or embedded into another application. Worm is a self-contaminated program which can spread throughout the network. Spyware is a program that communicates over the internet without user’s consent. I learned the difference between phishing and spear-phishing. Phishing is when a large scale of information is capture from various computer users. Spear-phishing is when they go through email address to select a particular group of recipients to target. I learned that you can still make money even when you are a cyber-criminal. However, it is kind of a good choice to make to give to companies that are looking for a protection shield. I had already learned about online voting which could be a quicker way to save time on manual counting. In conclusion, I have learned a variety of information that could carry me forward with my education of learning something new every time. Knowing that you can become a hacker and not charge for a crime...

Week 4 Journal

...Week 4 Journal Introduction to Literature Joshua Mills March 2, 2015 A literary analysis is very different from most writings, as its interpretive. What I may take away or pick up on is different than what you might interpret from it. To successfully analyze literature, you’ll need to remember that authors make specific choices for particular reasons. We have to remain objective to why the author added that detail or why they used that literary trick in that story. That’s exactly what I did to break down Things They Carried and A Rock Trying to Be A Stone. Both stories have many literary techniques like, being told in first person, imagery, simile, and a similar conflict. First I made sure to read the short stories silent, once I read it silently I reread this article, but this time out loud and I focused on particular points that stood at to me. Nothing in particular, just points that stood out to me and aroused a conflict to the story. In the Things They Carried it was Lavender’s death. That made this short story go from a very descriptive story with a lot of imaginary to deeper personally story about a boy having to become a man. Lt. Cross had a infatuation with Martha and used that to clear his mind from the war. After Lavender’s death he saw the failure in eyes of this squad. They all had failed Lavender. Kiowa say’s it was fate, but Lt. Cross, sees his death his fault as he didn’t lead his men as he should have. Lt Cross’s conflict made him realize that he needs...

...improvement and future success of this company moving into the public market. In order to properly perform an assessment of the LBJ Company, there first had to be some set of standards or regulations that outline the internal controls and proper procedures for companies and businesses to adhere to for financial reporting. As it turns out internal control is a key component of Foreign Corrupt Practices Act(FCPA) of 1977 and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act(SOX) of 2002 which required companies to follow this set of internal controls. This list of internal controls is as follows: 1). Conduct its business in an orderly and efficient manner, 2). Safeguard its assets and resources, 3). Deter and defect errors, theft, and fraud, 4). In Basket

...such as someone’s vacation hours and stocking merchandise for the store, those tasks should be delegated out to the assistant manager and to the store clerks. Being a supervisor means being in a role of leadership, logic, common sense, and decision making for yourself, the employees, and for the company. The “in Basket” debate and discussion gives us and our fellow classmates the opportunity to see if we can successfully delegate out certain tasks as a supervisor at a fictitious company. The discussion between me and fellow classmates was a great one and it appeared as though everyone agreed on everything accept for different incidents. The only two incidents where I came across disagreement were in regards to task number 3, and task number 4. These are the examples in which I will be using in this paper as far as disagreeing is concerned. Task number 3 is in regards to the mall hours changing for an upcoming holiday and that there is a request for store plans. In my own opinion and the opinion of all of my fellow classmates accept for one that I could find agreed that this task needed to be done by the Supervisor. Orson Welles Justice = mid-12c., "the exercise of authority in vindication of right by assigning reward or punishment;" also "quality of being fair and just," from Old French justice "justice, legal rights, jurisdiction" (11c.), from Latin iustitia "righteousness, equity," from iustus "upright, just" . ...How to Find Specific Journal Articles: (by Mark James) This is a step-by-step guide to finding specific research articles that you have been given the complete reference for (e.g. for seminar readings listed on Moodle, or for articles cited in lectures). To find articles when you do not have a full reference for (e.g. when you’re looking for research on a topic/theory/model generally) please refer to the slide “Finding Sources” of the Study Skills slides provided on Moodle. All seminar readings are available to download via the University of Kent library website using the following steps. Example - how to find: Poropat, A.E. (2009). Profile of Working Students and It' S Implication on Academic Standing

...CHAPTER I INTRODUCTION Not all people are given the chance to have a quality education especially in the Philippines because it is now complicated. That’s why having the chance to study and choosing the course should not be compared to some thing like for an example buying a dress for a special occasion and when realization comes into your mind that you don’t want it, you’ll return it or maybe get your money back. No, this isn’t right, because in college life, you have to treat every second as an important detail of your life. You should not waste every moment in it. So choosing the course which you think fits your capabilities is very important. Studying a specific course in college is not only about paying the fees rather the most important things here are the time and effort spent. Money, time and effort are the most precious things in one’s life and once it is used or spent, it’s hard to gain again or worst you may never have it at all. So the time these are wasted for nothing, for sure the blame for this mistake will be felt truly. When looking at the profile of those students who are working and at the same time is studying, you would notice that they never dare wasting their time. For them, every second counts. Make an observation and you will find out that almost all of the working students are working too hard to finish their studies. For them, wasting their effort, time and money is such a big mistake. OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY The objective of studying...

Teacher Assessments

...As a teacher it is your responsibility to not only present new material to the student but to teach them and to verify and monitor what information they are actually obtaining and processing. There are many forms of assessments that teachers can use to evaluate students understanding of lesson material. I will suggest a few methods that I will use in my secondary education mathematics classroom. The first strategy of monitoring I will discuss will be quizzes. There are multiple advantages for this form of testing. First, is that it easily produces recorded data. I can quickly grade multiple choice questions and record the students’ grade. Being able to record this grade will allow me to present scores to the parents when I am asked for a student’s progress. Another advantage to a quiz is the ability to assess both the entire class and each individual’s understanding on a topic. I will be able to look at the overall measurement and decide whether there is a need to review the topic or lesson, or if the class is ready to advance in the given studies. Also, by presenting multiple quizzes through the term the students and I can create a set format, which can help ease classroom anxiety. Another form of monitoring students’ progression through a lesson is homework. Homework can be one of the most effective methods for tracking mathematical progress. Assigning, collecting and grading homework can be a very timely way to gather information on how each student is progressing through...

Journals and Scientific Docs

...Journals and Scientific Documents The purpose of journals and professional papers is to inform the public on a specific subject matter. These writings relate directly to a broad spectrum dependent on the edition or publication specifics. Of professional papers, several types can provide a scope of information and credibility toward a purveyance of technical or detailed information. The structure is usually even flowing and organized with particular information segments set out about the constituency of the writing. These papers, intended for publication in special interest journals, enhance the writers research, writing, and documentation capabilities as some of the information, not being his/her own will need to be accredited as if it is not, than plagiarism will be extrapolated. Journals, usually published by or for a particular subject matter or client, are detailed and accurate. There may be a UCLA journal, National Geographic Journal, or even a mechanic’s journal. The particulars of this, geared toward a particular audience and each entry, will usually comprise two titles sharing a general viewpoint for the nonprofessional and an entry specific title for the professional. The purpose of journals is to inform a group or individual of the credible elements related to a curriculum or scientific, professional, or academic scope. The writings or information in a journal may be composed of professional papers but the opposite is not the same. ...

Guess Your Card

...explain to me that in this game each of us in turn will blindly draw three cards from a partial deck of cards. This deck has had all cards above 9 removed, and for this game’s purposes aces are only equal to 1. Without looking at my cards I am to place them facing out on my forehead so the other players can clearly see the cards. Each of the other players is to do the same. The object of the game is to guess which cards you have on your own head using logic to solve the problem. Players draw question cards that reveal information about player cards, and the first to guess their cards based on the information revealed wins the game. My brother Andy has the cards 1, 5, and 7 showing on his forehead. His wife Belle has 5, 4, and 7. My girlfriend Carol has the cards 2, 4, and 6. Andy is selected to draw the first question card, and it asks if he sees two or more players who’s cards sum to the same value. Andy answers affirmatively. With this information I know that I must have cards that equal either 12 or 16. I know this because Belle’s cards sum to 16 and Carol’s cards sum to 12. Since Andy sees two of us with cars of the same value I am able to confirm that my sum must match either Belle’s or Carol’s. At this point none of us are able to conclude anything else about our cards, so Belle draws the next question card. Belle’s question reads “Of the five odd numbers [1, 3, 5, 7, and 9] how many different odd numbers do you see?” Belle answers that she sees all five the odd numbers. I...
