Crowds awe and reporters talk excitedly. Everywhere, expensive diamonds and brand names slapped on her body costing more than 10,000 dollars apiece. This glamorous life is usually what society perceives as success. But what is success? Is it money, is it fame, or is it hard work? Success is not determined by who you are, what you are, or what you have; it is a journey, a movement of one place to another. Once, a long time ago, I remembered my mother and I always point out random women walking down the street and commenting on her clothes, personal appearances, and just basically what she was wearing. If that woman happened to wear a Gucci bag and had a Jaguar, my mom would say she was a successful woman because she had money. There was always this connection of success as having material things. After all, it's not only my mom who saw material wealth as success, often it's us all, as human beings. Another example would be famous celebrities such as Paris Hilton who had the easy life filled with shortcuts and influence. Often people refer that lifestyle a success. However, success is a movement from starting from scratch with no shortcuts and ending with improvement of one self and mistakes. Story of Success

...Someone once told me "I know you'll be successful." But what is success? I think the definition of success cannot be pinned down to one single thing. Aspects of life must intermingle and converge, resulting in a fusion of moments and a synthesis of ideas. Because one man's idea of a successful and fruitful life may not be the same as another man's hope for a brighter future. How one defines success is therefore integral to that person's experience of life in and around him. As we are creatures of habit, we can proceed through life with preconceived notions of what is and what should be, convinced that what has worked in the past must also work in the future. In that way we deny ourselves the virtue of malleability. We are often our own worst enemies. The Chinese philosopher and military tactician Sun Tzu likened the successful soldier to water. "Water shapes its course according to the nature of the ground over which it flows; the soldier works out his victory in relation to the foe whom he is facing." The brilliance of this idea is not in the likening of life to war, rather in revealing the simple truth that we are a product of our experiences and how we adapt determines our success, along with what path we take. Each hill and valley we encounter provides us with an opportunity to adapt and change, gives us the chance to use our talents within the realms of our potential to evolve our life in new and sometimes unexpected ways. God's plan may be unknown and unfathomable...

Success

...Zia Ficocelli Mr. Frank ENC1101 5/27/2015 Success is Happiness If the destination isn’t worth the road that is paved, then why walk the road? Success is about accomplishing things in life, and being happy through out all the adventures. While many people define success by the end result success is more about the journey, and being happy along that journey. No matter how the world turns it will never fall out of orbit. A goal can be small or big. Accomplishing a goal is a great thing; it is a part of being successful. Hard work is the key. The more effort put into a task, the more that will come out of completing the task. For instance, working out. More sweat, less weight. Success is happiness in accomplishments. Therefore you would be happy because of the pride you feel that comes with setting and reaching a goal. Finding happiness in a sense of fulfillment. While completing any goal though, it is important to be happy along the way. Completing long-term goals can absorb all energy inside and out. However, excitement and cheer is something to keep in hand throughout the adventure. Why would anyone spend years of their life trying to become something and hate themselves the whole time? At the end of the road, dissatisfaction and bad memories will be all the brain has to remind itself of why they’re there in the first place. It’s a waste of time to be unhappy. Following dreams cannot be that way. Remember to stay positive. Learn how to cope with the bad and...
