Introduction:
I. Before the age of four a girl named Bailey had to undergone two open heart surgeries. At the age of 12 the doctors realized that her heart was falling behind as her body grew and the only promising option they had was to do a transplant, in order to do this they had to put her on a mechanical pump that would allow for her body to become strong enough for the procedure. Many hospitals did not have the qualifications for this necessary exemption, but Riley hospital did, after a few months the doctors told her that her lungs and heart had strengthened enough to take her off the transplant list. For about 4 years she lived a normal teenage life until her heart suddenly stopped on her and she was rushed to Riley to undergo an emergency surgery. They fixed two valves, replaced a third and created a path that will allow for better blood flow. After this procedure in 2007 she has lived a happy a normal life ever since. Put your little brother, sister, or cousin in Bailey’s shoes, you would be extremely thankful that there is a hospital such a Riley to keep them healthy and happy.
B. This is just one of many stories that makes up the success of riley hospital, in order for the hospital to run properly they need volunteers, participants and donors to help carry on their work throughout Indiana, in order to reach ever child they can to help them.
II. We will be presenting you necessities to be able to help this outstanding hospital starting with its history, the mission, about proceeds, before finally presenting you information of current events that you can get involved in for Riley
