The site labeled me as “ the giver” and its opening line broadly defines my sore as, “As an ENFJ, you're primary mode of living is focused externally, where you deal with things according to how you feel about them, or how they fit into your personal value system. Your secondary mode is internal, where you take things in primarily via your intuition.” According to this website my primary focus is a people pleaser, I focus on my strong people skills, also I let people know I care and understand them which allows me to bring out the best in people. I get personal satisfaction from helping others feel accomplished and satisfied, but in return for my people pleasing abilities I have the ability to make people do exactly what I want them to do, in positive ways only of course. ...Humanmetrics Jung Typology Test. After careful dissection of the results I found that even though some of the findings were similar, the two tests painted different pictures of my personality. I will contrast and attempt to compare both examinations, showing why I believe the Keiser test is a more accurate description of my personality and character. I took both tests within one day of each other, to avoid an influence from one test on the other. After completion of the Keirsey test, I found the results to be surprisingly accurate, especially its description of the way my type makes decisions and view important choices. As for the Jung Typology test, I found it to be only accurate in generalities; the same way a daily horoscope found in the back of a newspaper would be. Both tests consisted of more than 60 questions with only two possible answers, all of which I answered with an open mind and honesty. The Keirsey test described my personality as a Rational Inventor or (ENTP), in it I found deep connection with its key characteristics, specially the first paragraph where it describes how this type of personality “is always trying to build a better mouse trap”(Keirsey, n.d., para1). However approximately seven years later Jung ended the collaboration, as he had started to move away from Feud’s theories and disagreed with some vital areas, including the nature of libidinal energy, which Freud saw as mostly sexual and Jung saw as mostly spiritual and infantile sexuality as a cause of neurosis. There was also disagreement as to the importance of the libidinal energy, as Freud saw it as pivotal and the primary motivating force, while Jung saw it as one of several forces with equal importance. ...My first reaction was oh no another test that won’t be accurate. I had no problem answering the questions. This was a surprise I thought it would be more difficult to decide on which answer was best. I wanted the test to be accurate. I would think that the answer could be skewed if my answers weren’t thought out. The Human- metrics Jung typology test scored my types as a 22% extravert, 41%intuitive, (5 feeling and 6% judging. After initially reading that, I really had no idea what to expect from the type description. I can say I was pleasantly surprised at the description of my personality type. The first thing that caught my attention was that I have “tremendous charisma by which many are drawn into their nurturant tutelage of or grand schemes. Oh my, does that appeal to my sense of shenanigans. It stated that we believe in our dreams and see myself as a helper. We see the big picture and can juggle a number of responsibilities simultaneously. I’m also apt to neglect myself to attend to the needs of others. Colleagues are always welcome in my space.
