A team meeting was held at Lutz on 8/2/17 to review the information that was gathered during Shawn's participation in the JVS Pathway's Discovery process. In attendance was this counselor, Shawn, his mother Trina, transition coordinator Joe Delegato, his teacher Caleb Smith, and the JVS Pathway's team.

During the meeting the following categories were reviewed: interests, contributions/skills, ideal working conditions vs. preferences, tasks, and possible employers to contact for employment.

When discussing interests, Shawn had many so he narrowed them down to 2. His top 2 were, being outside/cutting grass and building wood objects from old pallets.

His contributions and skills were observed during the Discovery process and there are several that would make him marketable in the above areas. A few include knowledge of lawn equipment, the ability to use several lawn/outdoor tools (snow blower, leaf blower, tree trimmer, edger, etc.), the ability to use building materials (electric sander, screwdriver, hand saw, etc.), and overall his dedication to working and …show more content…
This counselor explained that an IPE would need to be developed to support these goals and the services that JVS will provide. It was agreed upon that his goal would be all other hand workers as he likes to work with his hands. The plan would have a customized goal of landscaping, maintenance, wood work, and janitorial. This counselor explained the service that would be included in his plan. Shawn and Trina stated they understood and agreed to the service that would be in the plan. This counselor explained that she would draft the plan and send it in the mail for them to review, sign, and send back. Once again they stated they understood and would send it back as soon as possible. They had no other questions or concerns at this
