When thinking about why I want to be a Kairos leader, I cannot come up with a definitive answer. There are an infinite amount of reasons why I want to lead Kairos, and I will do my best to list as many as I can. My Kairos experience was the best experience of my life. I had the best small group and leaders I could have imagined, and I would be honored to provide the same experience for other people in my class. I developed strong, lasting bonds with my group, and I’d love develop the same type of bond with as many people as possible. Kairos is a life-changing experience, and I want to be the person that introduces God and love to other people. I believe that I have the skills necessary to be an exceptional Kairos leader. ...directly relate to his main claim which aid in getting the audience to understand his point of view. Coates’ pathos and kairos are both strong elements that make his claim effective. However, he lacks to provide a substantial amount of ethos and logos. Nevertheless, since Coates’ argument contains these critical elements, his argument proves to be effective in persuading his audience. In order to have a solid argument, one must focus on the values and beliefs of the intended audience. Coates’ use of pathos in his argument appears extensive which leaves the audience more likely to empathize and agree with him. For example, Coates describes the events of recent shootings that have happened in a way that will appeal to the audience’s emotions. Coates offers a few rhetorical questions for the audience to answer for themselves when he asks “Should the state repeatedly incarcerate Walter Scott for not paying child support? Does the presence of a gun really improve the chance of peacefully resolving a drug episode?” (Coates, 2). He...

...there was a hole in ozone layer. Thirdly, it was “Kairos”, that girl mention that much kind of animals and plants were rarely seen and vanishing gradually. At last, it was “Pathos”, she declared that she was now fighting for her future and yet human is the one to determine their next generation’s future. Her presentation is convincingly indeed, as she had pointed out those serious problems which will be appeared in the hereafter but most of people ignore this tangible. (112 Words) Title: The girl who silenced the world for 5 minutes (1992) Retrieved on 15/10/2011, YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQmz6Rbpnu0 Question 2 “Is it true that taking public transport in Singapore can save much cost on us?” I will prove this statement in my essay. Firstly, we can save much money by taking public transport since it is more economize. As if we are driving in Singapore, it is very costly because we need to buy a “COE”. Let me give an example, Jacqueline drive a Toyota vios to work (from Pending Lrt station to bugis junction), It costs her approximately $1500 each month (refer chart 1). In second example, we assume if her taking a taxi, it costs about $650 each month merely. Lastly, she either takes public bus (SMRT NO.960) or (LRT transit to MRT) to work, it just only $80 each month merely. In contrast within these three examples, I assure that taking public transport is the most economical way instead of driving a personal car. We are living in a country which is providing...

The percentage has declined from 47% to 29% and PEMC has suffered losses of 3%, 7%, and 11% in the last three years. Team B analyzes the current operations and activities of PEMC to determine the best way to achieve profitability. Business Process Recommendations Recovering losses and achieving increased profitability requires PEMC to implement several operations management principles. Beginning with redefining the organization’s vision and mission statement; internal stakeholders such as management and employees should acknowledge and work toward the organization’s objectives together. Managers can work collaboratively on creating a work breakdown structure, further clarifying primary tasks, and creating strategies for each business unit. A balanced scorecard can highlight each department’s key performance indicators, goals, and results. Implementing a work environment based on the Kaizen model for continual improvement encourages employees and managers to work on solutions rather than conflicts. Employees can help establish where and when production interruptions...

Facebook

...Using Facebook to Teach Rhetorical Analysis Jane Mathison Fife The attraction of Facebook is a puzzle to many people over the age of thirtyfive, and that includes most college faculty. Yet students confess to spending significant amounts of time on Facebook, sometimes hours a day. If you teach in a computer classroom, you have probably observed students using Facebook when you walk in the room. Literacy practices that fall outside the realm of traditional academic writing, like Facebook, can easily be seen as a threat to print literacy by teachers, especially when they sneak into the classroom uninvited as students check their Facebook profiles instead of participating in class discussions and activities. This common reaction reflects James King and David O’Brien’s (2002: 42) characterization of the dichotomy teachers often perceive between school and nonschool literacy activities (although they are not referring to Facebook specifically): “From teachers’ perspectives, all of these presumably pleasurable experiences with multimedia detract from students’ engagement with their real work. Within the classroom economy technology work is time off task; it is classified as a sort of leisure recreational activity.” This dichotomy can be broken down, though; students’ enthusiasm for and immersion in these nonacademic literacies can be used to complement their learning of critical inquiry and traditional academic concepts like rhetorical analysis. Although they read these texts daily...

...brought by Spain partly responsible for the failure of the country to become another economic "tiger" of Asia? The questions have not been answered with finality, although short-term and medium-term responses have been proposed and realized. Many seem to agree, however, that the root of the crisis facing the Filipinos in the past two or three decades is moral in nature. This calls for a long process of social transformation, of value recovery, formation, or transformation as the case may be. Education plays a crucial part in this process, and indeed teachers in both the private and public sectors , since the People Power Revolution of 1986, have responded to this call by introducing reforms in curriculum, content, style, and even mission statements. Such groups and institutions as The Association of Philippine Colleges of Arts and Sciences (APCAS), The Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP), not to mention The Department of Education, Culture and Sports (DECS), have produced various programs for value education. The Senate passed a resolution, calling for a task force that would inquire into the "strengths and weaknesses of the Filipino with a view to solving the social ills and strengthening the nation's moral fiber". The task force was composed of academics and its results are included here. Teachers with low salaries and academic institutions of meager budget responded magnanimously. Sometime in 1988, a need was felt by Filipino philosophers belonging to...

Inventory Management System

...CHAPTER I PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND Introduction Nowadays new technologies have brought a lot advantage to us, especially to those who involve in business. One of those technologies is using a computerized system in their business, but not all business is using computerized system, some of them are using manual in their transaction. Classical inventory theory usually assumes that the inventory on record is accurate and thus reflects the actual inventory level. However, in practice the inventory on record is not always accurate. The exact inventory level is not known to managers, and can deviate from the actual inventory level. There are many possible reasons for such discrepancies between the inventory on record and the actual inventory level, including transaction errors, misplaced inventory, spoilage, defective product quality. As technology increasing and handling the business world, there are still businesses that are still attached in traditional or manual system because they are afraid to change the way of their existing system. One of those businesses is the Dory’s Restaurant that until now is using a manual in their Sales and Inventory System. Inventory system is used to track information of a particular goods or product it monitors the product left and the product that need to restock. Sales is important in the business, because it involves the money that goes in for the company, sales is the business asset and the customer business deals. Dory’s...

...Chapter 1 SIGMUND FREUD AN INTRODUCTION Sigmund Freud, pioneer of Psychoanalysis, was born on 6th May 1856 in Freiberg to a middle class family. He was born as the eldest child to his father’s second wife. When Freud was four years old, his family shifted and settled in Vienna. Although Freud’s ambition from childhood was a career in law, he decided to enter the field of medicine. In 1873, at the age of seventeen, Freud enrolled in the university as a medical student. During his days in the university, he did his research on the Central Nervous System under the guidance of German physician `Ernst Wilhelm Von Brucke’. Freud received his medical degree in 1881and later in 1883 he began to work in Vienna General Hospital. Freud spent three years working in various departments of the hospital and in 1885 he left his post at the hospital to join the University of Vienna as a lecturer in Neuropathology. Following his appointment as a lecturer, he got the opportunity to work under French neurologist Jean Charcot at Salpetriere, the famous Paris hospital for nervous diseases. So far Freud’s work had been entirely concentrated on physical sciences but Charcot’s work, at that time, concentrated more on hysteria and hypnotism. Freud’s studies under Charcot, which centered largely on hysteria, influenced him greatly in channelising his interests to psychopathology. In 1886, Freud established his private practice in Vienna specializing in nervous diseases...

Weir Allison

...A STUDY OF FULVIA by Allison Jean Weir A thesis submitted to the Department of Classics In conformity with the requirements for The degree of Master of Arts Queen’s University Kingston, Ontario, Canada December 2007 copyright © Allison Jean Weir 2007 Abstract Who was Fulvia? Was she the politically aggressive and dominating wife of Mark Antony as Cicero and Plutarch describe her? Or was she a loyal mother and wife, as Asconius and Appian suggest? These contrasting accounts in the ancient sources warrant further investigation. This thesis seeks to explore the nature of Fulvia’s role in history to the extent that the evidence permits. Fulvia is most famous for her activities during Antony’s consulship (44 BC) and his brother Lucius Antonius’ struggle against C. Octavian in the Perusine War (41-40 BC). But there is a discrepancy among the authors as to what extent she was actually involved. Cicero, Octavian and Antony, who were all key players in events, provide their own particular versions of what occurred. Later authors, such as Appian and Dio, may have been influenced by these earlier, hostile accounts of Fulvia. This is the first study in English to make use of all the available evidence, both literary and material, pertaining to Fulvia. Modern scholarship has a tendency to concentrate almost exclusively on events towards the end of Fulvia’s life, in particular the Perusine War, about which the evidence is much more abundant in later sources such as Appian and...
