A Clean Slate

An abrupt meeting with a myth may completely alter, or end, Katherine’s life. Her reactions to a seemingly peaceful interrogation about several coincidences and, oddly enough, her art could cut her reputation as a potential art legend in the bud. Her beautiful paintings have pushed her into the spotlight and attracted unwanted attention. The artist might need to gather up the pieces of her apparently serene life in order to survive in the altered aftermath.

Lounging on her very comfortable looking velvet sofa, Katherine Morris determinedly reminded herself of what she believed to be her best traits. “You are not denying my existence? Unexpected.” Monet thought out loud.

“Other life was bound to interact with us eventually,” clarified Katherine, breaking the brief silence.
“Oh yes. But back to the current topic. I am here to discuss one of your artworks from multiple years ago.” Monet lifted her index fingers, touched them together, and pulled them apart again to reveal a hologram depicting the painting in question. It illustrated an overwhelmingly happy scene in an iridescent stone courtyard surrounded by wavy gravity-defying fountains flowing with sparkling liquid. When she was satisfied that Katherine recognized it, she tapped her fingers again and the illusion vanished.
“After closer inspection, this art was the piece that made your name recognizable in the artist community on the primitive internet,” she continued, “no offense meant. The leader Counsel of my planet worries because the Shimmering Court shown in the painting is my home’s most identifiable
