There are many things that one can expect from going to a different place, not just for getting an academic degree, but also to begin a new life, far more different of what you are used to. I believe that everyone has a purpose in his life, very few already know it, but the majority is still looking for it. Based on that, I realized that my purpose in life doesn’t belong here in home country, but somewhere else, and that somewhere maybe it can be found in Miami. There are many expectations that I can think of in going to study at MU; first of all I expect a very high quality education that is going to be the very foundation of my professional education. Apart from all the academic education I can get, I also expect to have a new way to look at things in a different perspective, that means to become a more independent and mature person, with stronger values and principles, and I am very confident, that if the doors would open, without a doubt, I will achieve all of that and even more. Last but not least, a very important aspect to consider when studying abroad is the notion of starting over, maybe not academically because you are continuing your college education, but there’s a whole new life ahead, and a whole new beginning, and because of that a whole new set of chances or doors, as I like to call them, will be open. And speaking of chances and opportunities, a very remarkable person for me that it’s name is Bob Dylan, once said: “Keep your eyes wide, ‘cause chance won’t come again.” In a few years maybe this opportunity won’t knock on the door again, so intend to welcome it before it runs aways.

...Baseball Swinging Drill Have you ever told a youth baseball player to keep his eye on the ball? How about don't pull your head out out!  As coaches and parents e hear and or say  these statements at almost every youth baseball game. First we have to realize what causes a baseball player to not watch the ball. We all know you can't hit what you can not see. And yes there is a baseball hitting drill to help keep your eye on the ball. baseball hitting drills There is basically one of two reasons a baseball player is not watching the ball or keeping his eye on the ball..  1. Trying to hard pull the ball… stepping away from the plate, not hitting the pitch where it is thrown  2. Attempting to hit the ball too hard… swinging for the fences! Don't get me wrong, I am a fan of home runs and deep hits but we need hard contact first. Here's what a youth baseball coach can do to help players be better hitters. Baseball Hitting Drill to help keep your eye on the ball Place a piece of brightly colored masking tape or paint a stripe about  4 inches wide around the sweet spot on the barrel of the baseball bat. The sweet spot is about 4 inches from the end of the bat, varies slightly according to the size of the bat. During batting practice the hitter uses the striped baseball bat and attempts to hit the baseball on the striped portion of the bat. The hitter is now  trying to correct his own problem. This is a very good way to teach younger and more experienced players to...

To Stay Safe Walking, Follow These Rules of the Road:

...facing oncoming traffic. In North America, this is the left side of the road. This gives you the best chance to see traffic approaching closest to you and take evasive action when needed. • Cross Safely: Mom was right: look both ways before crossing any street. At controlled intersections, it is wise to cross only when you have the pedestrian crossing light, but even then, drivers and bikers may have a green light to turn and won't be expecting you to be in the crosswalk. Make eye contact with any drivers who may be turning. Give them a wave. Make sure they see you. In a car-walker interaction, you can only lose. • Walk Single File: Unless you are on a sidewalk separated from the road or a wide bike lane, you should walk in single file. This is especially important on a road with lots curves, where traffic has only a split second chance of seeing you before hitting you. While it can be enjoyable to walk down the road two to three abreast chatting merrily, drivers don't expect it and you may lose your best walking buddies. • Stay Aware of Bikes and Runners: Share the road and path with bikes and runners. Bike riders should alert you when approaching from behind with a bike bell or a "passing on the left/right." Listen for them, and move to walk single file, allowing them to pass safely. Runners should also call out for passing. Bike-walker collisions can result in broken bones or head injury for either — and you aren't wearing a helmet. • Be Visible: Wear bright colors when...

Philosophy

...privileged place in the analysis of film, film theory has tended to ignore some of Lacan’s most important ideas. As a result, Lacanian film theory has never properly integrated the disruptive and troubling aspects of the filmic experience that result from the encounter with the Real that this experience makes possible. Many contemporary theorists emphasize the importance of the encounter with the Real in Lacan’s thought, but rarely in discussions of film. By bringing the encounter with the Real into the dialogue of film theory, the contributors to this volume present a new version of Lacan to the world of film studies. These essays bring this rediscovered Lacan to bear on contemporary cinema through analysis of a wide variety of films, including Memento, Eyes Wide Shut, Breaking the Waves, and Fight Club. The films discussed here demand a turn to Lacanian theory because they emphasize the disruptive role of the Real and of jouissance in the experience of the human subject. There is a growing number of films in contemporary cinema that speak to film’s power to challenge and disturb the complacency of spectators, and the essays in Lacan and Contemporary Film analyze some of these films and bring their power to light. Because of its dual focus on developments in Lacanian theory and in contemporary film, this collection serves as both an accessible introduction to current Lacanian film theory and an introduction to the study of contemporary cinema. Each essay provides an accessible...

Communication P1 P2

...information to the other person. * Group communication works the same way as one to one but it has different principles. Everyone has there own group of friends and they all have different ways of speaking to each other in other ways people wouldn’t understand. Informal is something you would most probably use with your family and friends. Communication between collegues is something that all professional business's uses for example; hospital or doctors. When they are speaking to each other about a certain thing in their job then most people wouldn’t know what they are saying as they have their own terminology. Also, it shows respect to other people. When in a health and social care setting if respect isn't given from each colleague then that could impact on the care given to the residents by staff. All colleagues in the health and social care sector must have trust in each other to build a good environment for all the residents they are looking after this will also make the residents have trust in all there staff who is looking after them.
