People dealing with obesity have to face with humiliation, depression, and sometimes even discrimination. Who is there to blame for this issue? It isn’t likely to find kids exercising like children used to be. Instead, kids are inside playing their video games, on the computer using a social network, simply not being active. Thirty eight percent of public school children in were overweight or obese in 2010 (Allday 2011). Fingers can be pointed in a different number of places, fast food restaurants, soda companies, schools, and sometimes parents in their own homes can be at fault as well. It was an enlightening experience for me as a kid because I began thinking about how big the world is, and how small each individual is in comparison. After sitting through the short connecting flight, we arrived at St. Thomas. It was like a whole other world. The mountains all around casted a majestic light, and the people and their clothing were so different and unique. After I admired this new land I was in our family boarded the ferry to make the final leg of our trip to St. John. Upon arriving we had to rent cars in order to get around and check in at the house we were staying in. Even as a young kid I could appreciate the house we stayed at. It was truly magnificent. The house sat on the side of one of the mountains in St. John and overlooked a bay below. To this day it still rivals many great overlooks including the ones here in Boone.
