Kids and Outdoors
I believe that kids should have a good solid foundation and this starts at home with their parents. There should be a balance in their lives, “Too much of one this is really good for nothing.” Only when this happens, a solid, cultured, well rounded, discipline child of today will be the leader, model citizen and inspiration for tomorrow. With such advancements in technology in the past decade, kids are not getting enough exposure to outdoors. They are glued to television, computers, smart phones and other electronic smart devices. In most families, both parents work, leaving the kids to become their own entertainers or Mom and Dads are too tired or simply don’t have a second to spend with their kids. The kids may become withdrawn or anti social which will have a long-term effect of their ability to grow into well rounded adults. The social impact of too much exposure to electronic media can be seen as huge disadvantage for children and family relationships.
I will attempt, using online articles and data bases from a variety of sources, to highlight the negative impact of over exposure to electronic media. I will show the effects this is having on children and families within the past two decades. This time frame is a good starting point to compare how traditional family values and togetherness from two decades ago have changed, as technology advanced to new heights just within the last ten years. I will explain how family relations, priorities, communication, togetherness and core values have slowly been degrading. I will show how children have become victims of technology, and as a result, are missing a very vital life lessons.
A comparison of family values between the modern US families that indulges in technology or, in other words one that is technologically advanced, to families or societies in

Benefits of Outdoor Play for Young Children

...Benefits of Outdoor Play for Young Children Joanna Chiang Capilano University Abstract Play is a vital part of a child’s life. In specific the outdoor play is essential for both physical growth and motor development. Outdoor play foster opportunities for creativity, imagination, social interactions, and learned behaviours. The playgrounds and the outdoors are places where children’s play can take off and flourish. Good outdoor areas are large enough and designed in such a way that children’s play can come to full expression, where children can make a mess, run, jump and hide, where they can shout, whistle and explore the natural world with endless possibilities. The outdoor area not only provides an environment to develop their physical strengths but also enables children to learn about the surrounding area, it provides an opportunity for exploration and develop an understanding of the world, where they live in. Purpose of Outdoor Play There are various different reasons as to why outdoor play is crucial for young children and one of the reasons is that “children learn about their world and there own physical capabilities through play and exploration of their environment, importantly, as children practice and attain skills, they will look for new challenges. Playgrounds that provide the opportunities for children tend to build physical strength and improve their balance and coordination help to reduce fall-related injuries.” (Connecting Our Kids with Nature By Kerry...

It all forms when man and women become one and from there a family is born. Talker 2: Family bonding does not happen overnight. It forms with every second, every minute that you spend with your loved ones. Talker 3: A close family bond is like a safe harbour, where we feel secure and where we trust that we have someone always there to whom we could turn to when we need them the most. Chairman : So what is the main challenge to build a strong family bonding in this globalised world? Talker 1: Families face new challenges in later life. In family bonding, divorce permanently weakens the relationship between children and parents.
