I am very grateful for the opportunity to speak to you today. When we moved out of this area, last year, I they didn’t ask us to speak, and I was surprised. Maybe the bishop knew that we would be back. When we moved back, the bishop did mention that it was time that we should speak, but we did not hear from him. I thought that we were home free. I know that I am always a little bit nervous to speak up here, but I am always grateful for the opportunity to grow and learn, I like to challenge myself to come out of my comfort zone and this is definitely one aspect in my life that I need to learn and grow. Maybe some day I will learn not to be so nervous, but speaking to my husband with him being in the Bishopric a while back, he said that he never got used to it.

They asked us to speak on Gratitude centered around Discipleship and Kindness. The first thing that comes to my mind when I think of Discipleship and Kindness is Brigg. He is always thinking of others. He is always doing one project or another to help someone in our ward, family, friends. He gets that from his father who set an example for him. I am so grateful to be married to someone who sets an example for my kids by helping others.
I was listening to Mary N. Cook (first counselor in the young womens presidency). Her talk was centered around kindness. Just like in the primary song Kindness begins with me.
I want to be kind to everyone, for that is right you see. So I say to my-self, Remember this: Kindness begins with me.
There are so many opportunities around us to be kind to others. We just have to be aware of them. That is the one thing that I have to tell myself every day. I am so much in a hurry, and too worried that I am going to miss out on something, that I forget to slow down and focus on what is important, (others, and what they may need). I have been tested a
