As we have read in “Krupat” and seen in “The Talking Stone” video, learning by elder and oral traditions was a common way for Native Americans to pass down history and teach the next generation. She went out and found her way to her American culture. It was not easy for her and I was fascinated by her courage,bravery and her passion to learn about her root. At such young age, she knew what she wanted and she did what she wanted. I never know what I want till this day and to be honest, I am afraid to go out and live my life. Mary Crow Dog has inspired me to stand up for what I believe in. I am glad I got to read this book because if I had not, then Mary would have been an anonymous person to me.
