. When i went to the cantor museum there were so many good artwork there but there was just one piece that just captured my attention and even as i looked at another piece I just came back to that one. So I decided to do the artwork Kurish Brides by Max Pechien. Max pechien is a painter and printmaker and he was the leading member of german expressionist group Die Burcke. He was actually the first one in the group to come to fame first because of his more conservative work. What i can interpret it a piece about a a young bride in Gremany since that where he was from. When I tried looking up information about this one art piece i did not found much information. But I did see thing about the work that he has done . He use vigorous brush strokes and jarring combinations of unmixed color and we can see that in most of his piece. When I saw this in the museum it really struck out to me because i love the use of non local color to create the piece. It rare to see a painting with a woman with green skin. Like doing the background i saw that it was mixture of reds, orange, and white to create it. soi it took me a lot if mixing color to get it. I really just winged it so i was kind of scared that i was going to mess up, but as i kept on going and it worked out. There is alot of texture in this piece that i found hard to replicate but i realize that if i color in a certain way that it can look like it had texture to it. Working with the oil pastel crayon i thought was very useful because it helped me to create a similar style to what was going on in the portrait is not to clean the line are not to perfect and i wanted to reflect that in my piece.
