(hurtigt). Glid derefter ind I næste punkt. (1 min.) (Lasse)

Gammel tid: Fortæl om “Survival of the fittest”/overlevelse og formering, vigtigheden af fællesskabet -“den eneste sanhed”, mangelen på forskellige menninger i samfundet, og Kristendommens store indflydelse og magt. (3 min.)

(3,5 min.)

(3 min.) (Lasse Model A, Tobias Model B)

(Skiftes)

A Beautiful, Sad and Touching Story About Hachiko

...“If you’ve ever owned a dog, don’t miss this film about loyalty, devotion and undying love “ - It’s about “Hachiko: A dog’s tale”, an American movie based on the true story about a dog in Japan, who had been waiting for his owner to return from work at the station every day until the owner passed away at the beginning of the 20th century. Scripted by Stephen P. Lindsey and directed by Lasse Hallstrom, this drama film released in August 2009 with a mainstream budget. Parker Wilson found a lost puppy at the station and took the dog to his home because the station controller refused to take care of the puppy. He named the dog “Hachi” after he learnt about Japanese symbol’s meaning on the dog’s collar. There seemed to be a bond between the professor and Hachi. Every morning, when Parker left for work, Hachi followed him to the train station and every later afternoon, the dog walked to the station, waited patiently for the owner to return from work and then they went home together. One day, Parker suddenly had a heart attack and died at work meanwhile Hachi was still waiting patiently for him at train station. He was lying in the snow and waited for many hours until Parker’s son in-law came and brought him to home. The dog didn’t realize that his owner wouldn’t come back ever again so next morning, Hachi returned to the trained station and waited from dawn till dusk , and the next day, he tried to escape from his new owner’s house to come to the train station again as usual. What's Eating Gilbert Grape

...What’s Eating Gilbert Grape? Introduction Growing up is the process of maturing physically and emotionally. It helps develop a sense of individuality and identity. Lasse Hallstroms 1993 film ‘What’s Eating Gilbert Grape?’ shows the stages of growing up such as childhood, life experience, maturity and family and friends. Growing up is a significant part of our lives. Childhood Childhood is an important factor of growing up as children begin to develop their sense of identity. This occurs during the period of birth and puberty in a person’s life. Arnie Grape, from the film ‘What’s Eating Gilbert Grape?’ (1993), is the definition of childhood. He is turning 18 years old but has developmental disability where he is stuck in a childhood state forever. A high angle shot of Arnie when he climbs the water tower is used to show how he was unsafe and helpless. The reverse shot shown while he was climbing the tower highlights his innocence and child-like manner. The montage of Arnie at the beginning of the film shows snippets of Arnies behaviour and attitudes. This give the audience an insight and brief understanding of his everyday life. Repetition/motif of Arnie playing hide-n-seek in the tree shows that he still has the playfulness in him as he did at the beginning of the film. The personality of an individual emerges through the stages of childhood and continues to develop as they grow. Maturity Maturity is influenced by the different factors of growing up such as childhood...

Pedersen 2 Interest-Rate Sensitivity First order effect: Bond prices and yields are negatively related Maturity matters: Prices of long-term bonds are more sensitive to interest-rate changes than short-term bonds Convexity: An increase in a bond’s YTM results in a smaller price decline than the price gain associated with a decrease of equal magnitude in the YTM. Prof. Lasse H. Pedersen 3 Duration The duration (D) of a bond with cashflows c(t) is defined as minus the elasticity of its price (P) with respect to 1 plus its yield (y): dP 1 + y T c(t ) D=− = ∑ f (t ) t , where f (t ) = dy P (1 + y ) t P 1 We see that the duration is equal to the average of the cash-flow times t weighted by f(t), the fraction of the present value of the bond that comes from c(t) ! The relative price-response to a yield change is therefore: ∆P ∆y D modified P ≅ −D 1+ y =− 1+ y { ∆y = − D ∆y modified duration Prof. Lasse H. Short Story - the Trash

...The Trash He looked out of the dirty window, which was covered with fingerprints and dead insects all over. He was sweating in the torn shirt he had put on this morning, before his long journey back to Denmark. He was already excited about his next lunch, rye bread with liver pâté and beetroot, just the way he liked it, just the way he knew it. It reminded him, that he had to go to the grocery before they closed. He had sold his house to fulfill the dream of his life; to become a tour-guide in Africa together with his best friend. His friend, Lasse Henriksen, left back home the week before, when he received a call from his mother, telling him that his dad was found shot on Nørrebrø. Lasse’s dad was a cop, recently celebrating his 30-year anniversary on the force. Lasse had to make it to the funeral, and support his family during the hard time. He hadn’t heard from Lasse since. He had tried reaching him on his cell, but with no luck. Wednesday d. 16th of April 15.09 o’clock Smallville Sigurd was pulled out of his thoughts, when the bus driver announced the final stop threw the speakers of the bus. Sigurd dragged his luggage out of the backdoor of the bus, and the bus went on along the empty and quiet road. He inhaled the fresh air, and felt his stomach sizzling of joy. He finally had reached his destination after a long journey. He had rented a weekend cottage in the edge of the small town of Smallville in the Northern part of Sjælland. He found the description of...

Besides, the price of medical cost for annual physical is relatively expensive. Reducing medical cost by eliminating the annual physical cost in the United States has become a critical issue. Background of Medical costs Medical costs rate in the United States has grown rapidly in decades and is still arising in the following years. “In total, health spending accounted for 17.9% of the nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2010” (KaiserEDU.org). After doing annual physical, most people feel better about their health since there is an evidence proving that you are in a good health. According to the 2002 survey conducted by the University of Colorado Health Science Center, there are 65 percent of doctors and patients think that the annual physicals are indispensable (Katherine). Betting Against Beta

...Betting Against Beta Andrea Frazzini and Lasse H. Pedersen* This draft: October 9, 2011 Abstract. We present a model with leverage and margin constraints that vary across investors and time. We find evidence consistent with each of the model’s five central predictions: (1) Since constrained investors bid up high-beta assets, high beta is associated with low alpha, as we find empirically for U.S. equities, 20 international equity markets, Treasury bonds, corporate bonds, and futures; (2) A betting-against-beta (BAB) factor, which is long leveraged lowbeta assets and short high-beta assets, produces significant positive risk-adjusted returns; (3) When funding constraints tighten, the return of the BAB factor is low; (4) Increased funding liquidity risk compresses betas toward one; (5) More constrained investors hold riskier assets. * Andrea Frazzini is at AQR Capital Management, Two Greenwich Plaza, Greenwich, CT 06830, e-mail: andrea.frazzini@aqr.com; web: http://www.econ.yale.edu/~af227/ . Pelle Erobreren

Acc 400 Week 1 Assignment

...Current Assets:- In accounting, a current asset is any asset sensibly anticipated that will be sold, devoured, or depleted through the ordinary operations of a business inside the current financial year or working cycle (whichever period is longer). Average current assets incorporate money, money equivalents, transient ventures, debt claims, stock and the parcel of prepaid liabilities which will be paid inside a year. On an accounting report, assets will commonly be characterized into current holdings and long haul possessions ( Sullivan, Arthur; Steven M. Sheffrin (2003)). The current ratio is ascertained by partitioning aggregate current stakes by aggregate current liabilities. It is habitually utilized as a marker of an organization's liquidity, its capacity to meet transient commitments. Current assets are essential on the grounds that they show the amount money an organization basically has entry to inside the following 12 months outside of outsider sources. It is characteristic of how the organization finances its continuous, everyday operations, and how liquid a firm is. Roosevelt of the US attempted to alleviate unemployment and national financial and business failures. During this time, many banks collapsed and consumer confidence became low (Lasse B. 2009). ...almost 20 years ago, when she immigrated to the United States. Having lived in the Middle East all her life, the USA introduced new customs to every aspect of her life, including the food she ate, her occupation, and even the way she dressed. A married woman in Jordan exclusively wore fancy dresses and classy attire when in public. My mother then saw how nearly every woman here wore more casual clothing, such as jeans and sweatpants, apparel my mother had never seen a married woman wear freely. My mother having to adjust to a completely different environment affected her in similar ways as other cultures affected civilization in certain pieces of fiction. In the novel Things Fall Apart, by Chinua Achebe, and the film Chocolat, directed by Lasse Hallstrom, the influences of new culture on an existing society shows that actions carry consequences. In both pieces, each society experiences a similar influence caused by new cultures. When these new cultures present themselves, both stories include a sort of abandonment to old traditions in replacement for these new ones. In Things Fall Apart, many people living in Umuofia, including Okonkwo’s son, convert to Christianity when the missionaries introduce the new religion. Okonkwo feels a deep shame towards these converts for betraying their gods and their customs, so deep that he ultimately disowns his own son, commanding him to never come back home. Similarly, in Chocolat, Vienne opens a Chocolaterie during the weeks of Lent, shocking...
