In the book the TaoTe Ching, Lao-tzu wrote " What is a good man but a bad man's teacher? What is a bad man but a good man's job? If you don't understand this you will get lost, however intelligent you are. It is the great secret" (Tao Te Ching, 1988, Stephen Mitchell). The Tao Te Ching is a classic book about Taoist spiritual teachings. There are many translations of the title and the book itself. However, for this purpose I refer to it as "The Classic book on the Way of Virtue. (David James Lee) In English the word 'virtue' relates to the sense of personal character, inner strength or personal integrity. It is this definition of virtue that I consider to be the core of good leadership especially in the field of social work. Tafvelin (2012) found:
Social work leadership has attracted growing attention in both social work practice and research. As social service organisations have changed in a variety of ways during the last decades, knowledge of how leaders should act in these transformed organisations is crucial. However, few empirical studies have examined what kind of leadership these changed organisations benefit from and how the continuing organisational change might affect the impact leaders have. Clinicians who become supervisors may find it challenging to transition into a leadership role. It is imperative that the new supervisor understand the agency's mission, vision, goals and culture as it relates to their new responsibilities. In order to be an effective leader who inherits managerial responsibilities, the supervisor will need to choose and develop a leadership style that closely reflects their personal values and personality. The leadership style will serve as a

I aspire as women in our immense nation I would like become a great female leader while bringing countless to success. I would like to make the most of my understanding and know-how to gather this purpose and prepare and educate other women on how to get the same achievements so that history can be written to prove that there has and will carry on to great women leaders. Servant Leadership is where the leader senses the want to seize care of the needs of their staff. It has been demonstrated in such businesses as Google that this technique works. Their employee’s undemanding needs were cared for and addressed. This permits those to feel valued in most cases they were able to be industrious at the same time. I currently work for a company with a vision that focuses on educating people so that they can better themselves health wise as well others around them to live longer lives. Servant Leadership is used within my organization in a lot of ways. Our leadership recognizes that if they are aware of our needs and they can complete those essential needs they will acquire superior production from the staff. This organization is very clear and consents to us with speaking our needs and they illustrate that to us by meeting our needs or confirming that they are aware of them with acknowledgement...

Term Paper: Management Analysis of a Manufacturing Company

...Term Paper: Management Analysis of a Manufacturing Company A. Introduction As a term paper for the subject Theories of Management, the performance of the management of the ACMC Quality Assurance (ACMC QA) section is analyzed. The analysis is subdivided according to the four management functions: planning, organizing, leading and controlling. In the Organizing section, the organizational chart of ACMC QA is the one analyzed. In the Leading section, both Leadership and Motivation are analyzed. Strengths and weaknesses are identified in the analysis. To conclude the report, these strengths and weaknesses are prioritized and matched to optimize their usefulness. Before the analysis, it is important to note that there are actually five leadership positions the ACMC QA and that these positions, and not of the ACMC QA Manager alone is analyzed. The five leadership positions are: the QA Manager (QAM), the Out-going QA Supervisor (OQA), the In-Process Quality Control Supervisor (QCS), the Customer Quality Engineering Team Leader (QETL), and the Improvements Quality Engineering Team Leader (QITL). The supervisors and team leaders are direct reports of the QA manager. They are held by low to medium grade level staff and not by managers. And although, it does not seem fair to evaluate these staffs in terms of management, the author’s (the QAM) purpose of making the evaluation is not to appraise their individual performance but to know the weaknesses of the ACMC QA section...

Humor in Workplace

...Final Project Proposal This paper aims to explore how humor, a site of construction of gender identity and power relation, is employed by both males and females to negotiate their power relations and either subvert or confirm their gender roles. I believe this topic is of particular interest because though a number of studies have been conducted to examine the relation between gender practice and occupational practice, and ways of constructing gender roles via humor. Concentration is rarely deployed on humor use by males and females at workplace. This review is important because there is a growing number of female practitioners participating in different sectors and industries. They are frequently confronted with paradoxical situations of their gender role of feminity and their professional competence and leadership, usually tagged with masculinity. This paper will offer some insights to professional females about how they can resolve such paradoxes at their workplace through the employment of humor. Besides, this topic is of particular interest because it can be seen through the review of the body of literature, that the meaning and effect of humor, as a linguistic means can never be captured nicely. It can have different functions in different context, which is in accordance with the “ambiguity” and “polysemy”put forward by Tannen (1993), so this paper will probes into the fluidity and ambivalency of this linguistic means. Moreover, one big context in this review...
