LDR Assessment #4: Least Preferred Coworker (LPC) Measure
Were the results accurate?
I believe the results were accurate because I scored a 71 which is means that I have a high LPC and I am more relationship motivated.
Why or why not?
The results were accurate because I am a people person. In groups, I tend to form relationships with others. I believe that if I form a relationship with others, it is easier to get the task done. When I mean relationship, I am not referring to friendship, because if it becomes a friendship, it is harder to tell the others to complete a task. Realizing that you are friends they are always going to be asking them to cut them some slack.
Do you see some problems with the questions asked?
I found a couple of problems with the questions being asked. The majority of them just focused on 2 words, if it is either/or. I feel the questions asked should have just been a statement and not only two words in order to get a better understanding of what was being asked.
What are they?
All the questions only consisted of two words, which was either/or. I believe rather than instead of using the scale from 1-8, it should have just been to pick the word that first comes into mind by circling it. Like I mentioned above, a statement would have given me a better understanding of what was being asked. I had to think a little to rank a person I previously worked with because I did not really understand the scale system with only using two words.
What insights did this survey give you about yourself?
I learned that I am a type of leader that focuses on relationships. I feel that this is good in situations where leaders want to make their subordinates feel comfortable. I like focusing on relationships, so my subordinates will fee comfortable asking for help or any other questions they might have. I like to keep the environment friendly and relaxed
