Please find attached a memo outlining the following items:
How I plan to successfully lead my team to meet the company’s goals. I will give an individual evaluation of my team members, including myself based on the personality assessment. I will provide an evaluation in terms of urgency, culture and anything else applicable. I will provide my leadership approach based on individuals and the situation. Finally, I will discuss any principles I will be applying from leadership theories.

Team Leadership
As a manager I have a substantial role when it comes to motivating my team to produce results. I will do this based on a method of leadership that fits my personality as well as the personality of my team. I will be much more than just a decision maker. I am responsible for much more such as understanding each individual on my team including their personality and what motives them. Once I have determined what those traits are, I will use them to reach the goals of this organization.
Different personalities on a team can complicate the team’s ability to accomplish tasks efficiently. As a manager it is my responsibility to ensure that I leverage the individual personalities to the organization’s advantage by performing a personality test on each of my team members.
With my task of running this new department, I understand it is my responsibility to make sure my team understands the challenge we are presented with. As a manager with a leadership style of democratic or participative, I feel that it is best to include my team in the department processes. Since my team will be the ones who will be performing the day-to-day activities of the department I value their input. After taking input from my team members I will use that to help make decisions if appropriate and will best serve the organization.
