Leadership Style
“Leadership is less about your needs, and more about the needs of the people and the organization you are leading,” (The Wall Street Journal, 2014, para.1). This is why it is important to understand one’s own leadership style to be successful. In the following research the author will talk about the leadership style, and ideas and plans to improve based on an admired leader and the work that is performed with my mentor.
Style/Characteristics
Charismatic leadership style is what I would like to evolve into over my history of growing and becoming a seasoned leader. This style is characterized as, “the leader uses charm to get the admiration of their followers. They show concern for their people and they look after their people's needs. They create a comfortable and friendly atmosphere for their followers by listening to them and making them feel that they have a voice in the decision making,” (Dems, 2011, para.3).
Mary Kay Ash is defined as a charismatic leader and I have admired her for years. She started with a vision, and her son to run a company that evidently cares about the health of men and women for the last 50 years. She has a lot to admire and one thing that has always kept me interested is her ability to bring so many people together and continue to inspire them although she has passed on. She was and is still amazing. Mary Kay has built a company based on the needs of others, caring for them through the vision of healthy women and enriching lives. I have had the opportunity to be a Mary Kay consultant and love the vision that is sent out to the world. It is the vision of Mary Kay that stands out and the love that is portrayed through her followers that keeps the Mary Kay Ash I know to life. The meetings with the ladies/gentlemen are sincere and touching

Richard was a great leader whom I looked up to since I was in my early teens. Richard understood life in general and did nothing to take advantage of it.
