The Gospel of Luke has many similarities to the books of Matthew and Mark. The story of Jesus’ life from his birth to his death are similar and different to the other books. Being a graphic designer there are six images that are given. As a graphic designer candidate, choosing the best image of the final six creations is very difficult. The top image would be displayed as the cover for a new commentary on the Gospel of Luke. Image number two is the best selection for the documentation of the Gospel of Luke because of the genuine quality and colors being displayed. The Gospel of Luke also displayed great genuine image through stories like The Pharisee and the Tax collector; The Good Samaritan; The Parable of the Lost Sheep; Lazarus and the Richman; and the Parable of the Lost Son. The best image of Jesus is image two because of the genuine friendly figure that opens the door for everyone and that’s what the Gospel of Luke was all about. The Gospel of Luke portrayed life lessons about not assuming one’s self based off of a not so good title, but judging the individual’s mercy and belief towards God. Imagery number two displayed the most genuine welcoming environment compared to the other five images. The Gospel of Luke showed Jesus, and other Jesus figures being Genuine through the stories of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector; Good Samaritan; Parable of lost sheep; Lazarus and the Richman; and the Parable of the Lost Son. Being Genuine takes a lot of effort and kind personality in order to let others even though they are sinners into the community of God. Being Genuine is a key aspect towards image 2 and why it deserves to be part of the image for the documentary of the Gospel of Luke. The Pharisee and the Tax collector was a story about two people praying. The Pharisee praying or talking to God and how much righteousness he had and what good things he did for the Lord. The Tax collector was very sorrowful and merciful towards the actions that he had done and pleads for forgiveness of his sins. Despite being a Pharisee, the intentions of excluding people who are tax collectors or sinners is wrong. Being genuine like Jesus is a good thing because it gives people hope and faith to believe in God the father. No one should look down on others just because of the title of a Tax Collector or a sinner. Everyone deserves to have the right to follow or believe in Jesus. Image number two definitely shows the image of someone that will lend that genuine hand towards Christianity. The tax collector had every right to pray to God and ask for forgiveness for his wrong doings. The Pharisee didn’t even give the individual a chance and gave assumptions that he was automatically a bad individual. Image number two shows a welcoming image and the image the Gospel of Luke displayed. The face and smile of image number two helped out a lot because it showed the welcoming environment that Jesus has to offer towards the world today. The Good Samaritan theme in the Gospel of Luke fits picture number two. The story of the Good Samaritan story describes of one beggar on the street. There were three men and the first two men passed up the beggar. The third individual gave mercy towards the beggar and cleaned up the wombs of the individual and even fed him. Now out of all the images, number two definitely has that feel as an individual who would kindly help the beggar. Those who do not resemble such a smile or such warm presence wouldn’t help the poor beggar. The first two individuals that passed by the beggar did not show the genuine kindness that the third person would do. I feel as if images number four and five would represent the first two individuals that didn’t give pity to the beggar. Image number two with the man smiling would be the type of impression you would get that can represent the third person who took care of the beggar the best he could. The smile, the colors, and the atmosphere you get from that image can help someone trust that person. There wouldn’t be trust towards image number four or five because of the lack of color and genuine feeling you would get from image number two. The Parable of the lost sheep also can explain how number two best fit’s the rendition of the Gospel of Luke. The Pharisees and the teachers complained how Jesus let’s sinners into hearing his word. Those sinners included tax collectors and others that did wrong. Jesus explained how 100 sheep is important rather than leaving 1 lost sheep. Once that lost sheep is found they shall rejoice in heaven. In analogy, Jesus explained how that everyone should be able to have a chance to enter in heaven, even sinners that show mercy and plead for forgiveness. Jesus welcomes all that believe in God whether you are a Pharisee or a tax collector. The number two imagery of Jesus smiling is the perfect image that best describe the genuine quality of someone who would welcome anyone that believes. The smile of the image gives a warm welcome to anyone that admits to being a sinner. Image two gives that image that visual of Jesus is someone that would never leave anyone behind. Image two of Jesus looks like the Jesus that looks out for those that are not noticeable like the leopards, the sick, the handicapped, and the poor. The story of Lazarus and the poor man is much similar to the last few parables. The beggar Lazarus was always at the rich man’s door and there was a point where he could no longer live. Once he passed, angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man died as well and was properly buried. The rich man ended up in the side of suffering in the agony of fire. Father Abraham talked about how Lazarus had suffered long enough and shall be comforted in heaven. The rich man pleads Abraham to spare his five brothers and the rest of his family. Abraham only replied that they shall be spared only if they believe in the prophets. In this story, Abraham resembled Jesus from the previous parables and the Father in the parable of the lost son. Imagery two definitely can be the image that welcomes the poor man in to the arms of heaven. The poor man has suffered long enough and is ready to be in the arms of God. Abraham showing the ability of being genuine to those that are in need. The rich man lacked the genuine emotions that Abraham gave to the poor person. The rich individual only cared about himself until those that are related to him are endangered to face the same path like he did for leaving the poor man outside the door. The Parable of the Lost son is also a story related to the lost sheep in a way. The father had lots of land and would pass it down to his two sons. The older son is the one individual who does everything that is suppose to be done. He was very obedient to his father and helped in any way he can. The youngest one of the family demanded his inheritance right away. The youngest took his land and instantly sold all of it to a buyer and collected all of the earnings. The youngest son took the earnings and spent it all recklessly through drinking and partying. Once he ran out of money, it came to a point where he was fighting for survival. He ended up living in the muck with all the pigs. Eventually, the youngest knew that what he did was wrong and was very ashamed of himself. He decided that he would apologize to his father about selling the land and would attempt to work for him. Once the youngest entered the door of his father and started to apologize. Interrupting the plea, the father hugged him and welcomed him back right away with open arms. The father happily celebrated and told his fellow servants and colleagues that his son is back and that a celebration should be held. The older brother was jealous because of all the mistakes his brother has made and that a celebration is held because of it. This story being similar to the other parables shows how everyone can be welcomed in the kingdom of God. It doesn’t matter if you do everything right, just as long as you believe in God and show mercy and know that the sins you’ve done are wrong. The Father in the story represents Jesus which resembles photo number two the best. Going back to being Genuine, the parables show the genuine atmosphere the father and Jesus have shown towards those who have done wrong to others because of the fact those who did wrong have admitted their sins. The Gospel of Luke document image should be represented by imagery number two. The man smiling and the colors displayed on the image fairly represents what the Gospel of Luke is all about. Being Genuine towards the people is a big thing especially to tax collectors and other hated sinners for their wrong doings. Jesus number two displayed great welcoming quality compared to the other images. Image number one and four displayed some good dark gloomy colors. Those images displayed themes relating to the other stories of Jesus which included his death and resurrection. However, those images don’t seem to match up towards what the Gospel of Luke was all about. Those images sort of related towards the mercifulness and punishing of those that are rich. It seems as if Jesus is looking down on those evil doers. Images five and six seem pretty gloomy, unwelcoming, and some what disturbing. The Jesus in the Gospel of Luke was very warm welcoming and everybody wanted to hear the word. Image number three showed how hierarchy Jesus is because of the image of the halo behind his head. The Halo kind of showed the transition of Jesus and when he ascended into heaven. In comparison to all the others, number two had the most welcoming image when it came to relations towards the themes in the Gospel of Luke. Image number two was the only image that showed Jesus smiling. All the other Jesus images looked gloomy or in pain depending how you see it. The Gospel of Luke showed more favoritism towards the person making all of the mistakes rather than the individual who did everything right when it came to following instructions or orders. Once that individual who made the mistakes asked for mercy, the celebration begins after the character realizes that a need for redemption is required. Being Genuine requires a lot of effort and kindness. Being Genuine also shows the qualities that Jesus, Abraham, and the father had. Regardless if you did everything right, as long as an individual shows mercy and believe in God, then that person shall also be welcomed into the kingdom. The gospel of Luke displayed Genuine teachers like the father, Jesus, and Abraham accepting those who sin and do wrongful acts. Despite the bad acts, in the end the sinners gave mercy and asked for forgiveness to Jesus. The Gospel of Luke displayed lots of Genuine acts from Jesus and others. Image two deserves to be the display for the documentary on the Gospel of Luke because of the Genuine aspect it has. Through the stories of the Tax collector, rich man, lost son, they all ended up selfish and arrogant at first. In the end, mercy and forgiveness is what they needed because of the mistakes that has been made. Lucky enough being genuine to those that aren’t gradually accepted in society is a big theme here in the Gospel of Luke.
