publicly- traded companies in the U.S. consider to make values included in their hiring?

Taj know exactly what kind of people they want. The way that Taj hiring employee shows that a great service employee in hotel industry should value more in these traits: caring for others, respect olds and peers. They do not value much in these areas: education levels, family background and where live. I think for those GMs and HRMs in the publicly-traded companies, they should find people that have the right and suitable traits for the job they will do. Even though some employees might not be suitable for the job, the company should got good training programs to help build valuable employees. For specific actions, there are quite some resources we can find. I read an article called “Hiring the Best People with a value based interview” online. It’s written by Ann Rhoades. Rhoades says that letting the best people in the company involved in the hiring process is a good practice for companies to find valuable people. She calls it a values interviewing and it help multiple companies to be successful. For example, at Loma Linda university medical center, after using the value-based hiring strategy the turnover fell from 18% per year to 1% in ICU. To be more specific, they start the process with one key position, meaning that you apply it to a position that is important in the customer’s perception of the company. Then have the recruiting team find the job’s key attributes. For example, as mentioned in this article, at Loma Linda key employees agree that the key attributes of an environmental care specialist are “customer focus”, “accuracy and attention to detail” and
