Dear Mrs. Punich,
I am interested in pension benefits processing and I would like to inquire about the positions at CTPF. Since being employed here as a temp in the Pension Benefits Administration department, I have come to learn much more about CTPF and its purpose. I have been introduced to many key functions in the pension benefits processing department and have mastered them successfully. This includes processing service estimates as well as reciprocal estimates for active members, verifying service and salaries for reciprocal systems, reviewing applications for members who have applied to retire, to insure accuracy and that all supporting documents are on file, and sending correspondence to members to acknowledge receipt of their pension applications and/or to request additional information, if needed, as well as other things.
I completed my Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting at Devry University and my MBA in the same discipline, at Keller Graduate School of Management. I am currently pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Financial Analysis from Keller Graduate School of Management.
My resume, which is enclosed, contains additional information on my experience and skills. I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss the Pension Benefits Administrator position with you and to provide further information on my candidacy. I can be reached via my cell phone, 331.203.1583 or by email at koleskyy@sbcglobal.net.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to speaking with you about this exciting opportunity.
Regards,

Nicole

...Ryan Boudreaux 1517 South Morgan Ave. Broussard, LA, 70518 (337) 552-8898 rboudreaux31@yahoo.com April 1, 2014 Internship Review Committee Letter of Interest LHS Health Academy 3000 W Congress St. Lafayette, LA, 70506 Dear Internship Review Committee, I am interested in participating in the internship program at Lafayette High next year. The main health care career I am intent on following is nursing. My mother, Charlene Boudreaux, who works at UHC, has inspired me to become an RN. Seeing what she does on and off the clock has shown me how her job really works. This has been my career goal since I was younger. Since my mother works at UHC, I have some knowledge of how things work at the hospital and I know the general locations of departments. Interning there would be my first choice because it would be a lot easier for me to get use to the hospital. My second option would have to be Lafayette General. I have family members who have and are currently working there that tell me that it is a great facility and lively atmosphere. My third option would be Our Lady of Lourdes if I am not able to have the any of the other options. Participating in the internship program can make or break my liking or becoming of a nurse. I would notice whether I like or dislike this health care field. If I were to go blind into nursing school- not having any experience- there is always a possibility of not enjoying it. Internship is critical in my eyes just because I will be...

...Cover Letters and other career correspondence Your letter is your introduction —it continues or starts a conversation about work or education Just as you start a conversation by introducing yourself, a résumé should always be sent with an accompanying letter. Picture yourself sitting face-to-face with a person doing work that is interesting. What would you say? What do you want to ensure they know about you before you leave the room? Your letter is a chance to make a great first impression or continue a conversation that has already been started. Your letter is something employers expect —it shows your professionalism and helps them get to know you Every time you submit a résumé, you should attach an accompanying letter. Even if they don’t specifically request it, employers expect documentation from you that shows your professionalism and potential contributions. What better way to start than by using a cover letter? Your letter should clearly show the match —it illustrates the connections between you and the work Some employers scan your résumé first, while others start with the cover letter. To increase your chances of being invited to an interview, ensure that both documents clearly show the match between what the employer needs and what you can contribute. Once you have made the match, remember that the letter is your chance to stand out as an individual from the many other qualified applicants. Include information that supports and points to your résumé, without...

Cover Letter Guidelines

...Introduction to Cover Letters The cover letter is a document meant to accompany one’s resume when applying for or inquiring about a job. It provides you with an opportunity to really introduce yourself to your employer by explaining your interest in the company and position, why you are qualified, and what sets you above other potential applicants. It is very important to know how to write a proper cover letter so that you can distinguish yourself as a worker and as a person. * Cover letters are typically around one page in length and consist of fourparagraphs, each of which performs a specific job to quickly inform the employer of why they should consider you for the position. It's an opportunity to tell a perspective employer why you’re the perfect fit for their internship and their office and just as importantly, a cover letter is an opportunity to tell an employer you don't care about their position, by writing a sloppy or template cover letter. Some valuable cover letter topics include, explaining why a position interests you, what you bring to the table, how you would be a great fit, or something unique about you that makes you different from the hundreds of other candidates. The ultimate goal of your cover letter is to get the reader excited to meet you for an interview to learn more. To summarize the points above, ingredients needed to make a successful cover letter are: Header with contact information: Including a header with your contact information on the cover letter makes you look professional and ensures your information will be easy to find. Importance of Cover Letter

...bea1_c01.qxd 12/12/01 10:20 AM Page 1 1 Importance of Cover Letters The cover letter you choose for transmitting your resume to an employer or important networking contact can be one of the most significant factors in the success (or failure) of your job-hunting campaign. In fact, a survey of nearly 600 employment professionals, conducted by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), suggests some 76% of employers may automatically eliminate an employment candidate from any further hiring consideration, based solely on the quality of his or her cover letter alone. Further, 43% of survey respondents also reported they view the cover letter as equal to the resume in importance. When it comes to running an effective employment campaign, therefore, this data should cause you to sit up and take notice! (Note: A copy of the full survey, which covers both cover letters and resumes can be obtained by contacting SHRM by phone, (703) 548-3440, or by e-mail at SHRM.org.) If well written and informative, the cover letter can grab the reader’s attention, raise his curiosity, and stimulate immediate interest in your employment candidacy. In fact, if particularly well written, it can sometimes raise sufficient interest to compel the reader to extend an interview invitation without reading the resume document to which it is attached. By contrast, a poorly written cover letter can be disastrous to an otherwise successful job-hunting campaign, serving as an immediate roadblock...

...service. To do so, write a sales letter. In selecting the product or service for your company, choose a topic that interests you. This could be a topic that you're currently involved with at work. It could be a topic related to your major at college. Perhaps you'll want to write about a hobby (dog training, wood working, gardening, parasailing, etc.).  Whatever topic you select, have fun and be creative. NOTE:  All subsequent assignments in this class (your flier, letter of inquiry, memo, user manual, and report) will ask you to write about the same topic you have chosen for the sales letter.  Therefore, pick a good topic for your sales letter--one that you enjoy, one that you can live with for a few months, one that lends itself to a how-to user manual, and one that is mature and appropriate for a college class. Why write about the same topic over and over?  I'm asking you to practice a very common skill in technical writing called "single sourcing."  In "single sourcing," tech writers use and reuse content in different communication channels. You're not required to stick with the same topic.  If you want to change topics from assignment to assignment, go ahead.  But, reusing the same topic (and graphics) could save you time throughout the semester. | Now that you know the objectives for this assignment, follow this sequence: Read the sales letter's criteria to learn exactly what your letter will include. Review the sample sales letter. Prewrite to gather data, to determine...

However, banks are not permitted to offer different interest rates to different customers for deposits of same maturity period, except in the case of deposits of Rs. 15 lakhs and above.
