What does life means? Life, for me, is the most precious thing that everyone has the opportunity to have. According to Mother Teresa, “life is an opportunity; life is precious”. She gave life fifteen wonderful meanings but I totally admire the latter two simply because life is as precious as we are.

God given us this life we have now. No matter how hard or easy to handle it, we should treasure such a precious gift from God. Life is then priceless and freely given. We don’t need to demand for it. Life is just up there waiting for us. It’s only up to us if we claim it or not. Upon claiming it, how do we view life then? How should it be and why would it be? Do we need to be the same in viewing life or it would be our own choice? If I were to ask, it would be our choice. Life as I view it is like a book. No matter how quick you turn the pages, for you to learn, you would probably go back and read completely. In life, no matter how you want to escape from your problems, you would not be able to do it. Whether you like it or not, you need to face whatever your problem is. Just challenge yourself as life is full of challenges. Who would say that living is easy? Yes, it is happy to live. But life is a challenge and is not absolutely easy. Of course, to give up is not the solution. Life must go on no matter what happen. Lewis Carroll says that “If you don’t know where you are going, any road will get you there.” So it’s better to just ride on it as life is also a journey. We do have a lot of chapters in life. We live step by step. Sometimes, we strive hard for us to accomplish each chapter. But God is always there to guide us. When we are in deep struggle, He is there to fulfil and strengthen us. Have faith not just merely to overcome our worries and fears in life but to secure that the entire life we have right now would be for a longer time. As life is only a borrowed thing. So live now the way we want. Choose the road where you can find happiness for as long as you have still the chance. Taking chances can also lead us to the right path. According to Douglas Adams, “I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.” He is just right. Do you want to be happy and satisfied in life? Just make no regrets. Cry at the corner but make sure to smile at crowd. Show others that you can. No one can defeat us unless we first defeat ourselves. So don’t bother making regrets or crying about mistakes you’ve done. A quotation says it’s how you deal with failure that determines how you achieved success. This is possibly true. I believe that if you met failure, it is already an assurance that you are going to meet success. Therefore, if I would be at my worst, I would also be at my best.

Life is life. No matter how unique we are in viewing it, there’s no difference at all. Why? It is simply because we are all living. We all have the chance to possess life. Nobody is exempted. No one is guaranteed to have it special. To keep life moving, just keep living to the fullest. Before I end up this speech, thank you for attentively listening, I just hope that I have inspired you. One last thing I want to say. Just live, enjoy life and give thanks to God, our creator.

...THE ABSURDITY OF LIFE Steven Luper, Trinity University In "The Absurd"[i] Nagel claims that self-conscious human beings are necessarily absurd, so that to escape absurdity while remaining human we would have to cease being self-conscious. Fifteen years later, in The View From Nowhere,[ii] he defends the same thesis, supplementing some of his old arguments with a battery of new ones. I want to suggest that Nagel has misdiagnosed, and exaggerated the inescapability of, our absurdity. He does so partly because the grounds on which he bases his conclusion are spurious, and partly because he does not acknowledge the extent to which we can eliminate absurdity by suitably redesigning our plans and modes of justification. Nonetheless, I do not mean to imply that we can easily eliminate absurdity from our lives.
