The conceptual framework is limited to the model impaired sleep. The linking of the concept impaired sleep to independent variables of the fatigue countermeasures program for nurses (FCMPN). The FCMPN in this study was “modeled after the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Ames Research Center’s Fatigue Countermeasures Program and the Sleep, Alertness, and Fatigue Education in Residency Program” (Scott et al., 2010, p. 253).
