Losing the Weight

My experience with exercise programs has proven to be quite effective. It takes time and determination for me to achieve weight loss. I chose to lose weight to get healthy. I realize that gaining weight can cause me to have health problems. I owe part of my new figure to the exercise programs I attended at Ladies Only Total Fitness. The reason why exercise programs exist to this day is to keep people healthy. I was dealing with some serious problems being overweight. However, in order to improve my health, self-esteem, and attitude I endured workouts that boosted my energy and gave me strength. There are more reasons than one that cause me to lose weight. The day I went to the doctor’s office to get a physical was one of the biggest turning points in my life. What the doctor informed me on that day was one of the reasons why I choose to lose weight. While I was at the doctor’s office going in for a physical. I told the doctor before she came in with her diagnosis that “my knees, back, and the heels of my feet were hurting.” I also told her that “I tend to get headaches often.” My doctor told me the reason why I could be having these issues was because of my weight (5’2, 200 lbs). I wasn’t at the right weight for my height. I was putting my body at risk of having health problems. A week after I went to the doctor‘s office. I was extremely depressed about my weight. My self-esteem was at an all time low. I didn’t want to look at myself in the mirror, nor go out with my friends. I felt that my clothes didn’t look right on me. If, I was to hang out with my friends’ people would make fun of me behind my back by comparing me to them. My attitude was terrible because of how I felt about my weight. I would catch attitudes, like being defensive when I’m told to do something that I truly do not want to do. I felt, what was told to me in an

Losing Weight the Healthy Way

...Losing Weight the Healthy Way Almost every fast food restaurant has a dollar menu. Meaning it is even easier to eat something unhealthy versus eating a nice healthy meal that cost more. Getting a fried chicken sandwich or a hamburger is about a dollar at most fast food restaurants but to get a salad is about four dollars. Statistics shows 63 % of adults in America are overweight and 34% of minors are over weight because of a lack of physical activity and terrible eating habits. People tend to drink more soft drinks and snack on sweets rather than eating our correct servings of vegetables and fruits. Exercising, eating healthier, and minimizing stress are good healthy ways of losing weight without so much dieting which can cause malnutrition. All of these suggestions sound good but losing weight is tough because it requires time and a little self-discipline. First and foremost the important thing when losing weight is to focus on eating habits. Fried foods and sweets are the foods that cause rapid weight gain so a cut back on those foods will surely help. Replacing soda and fruit drinks with water is a start and eating low whole grain foods, vegetables, fruits, and protein. Eating less and healthier may automatically cause one to lose weight without exercising because one’s body is now having less intake on those foods that are causing excess weight gain. Additionally, keeping note of calories that day helps with trying to eat fewer calories. Trying to eat 300 to 500...

There are many Americans becoming more health conscious, yet the vast majority is still overweight. There could be many reasons for this; poor eating habits, or from plain ole laziness. An interest in one’s career or one’s family lifestyle could be the cause for one to neglect their physical well-being. In order for a person to maintain one’s health and to prolong one’s life, one needs to exercise along with eating healthy foods with nutritional value. Exercise and healthy diet regimen is the main ingredient to losing weight. Some folks think that if they skimp out on a couple of meals and taking it easy on the snacks, they can lose weight without exercising. Little do they know that when one exercises, not does he only burn off body fat, but he is also helping his body function better. If one does not have the time to go to the gym, simply taking the stairs rather than riding up a couple of floors in an elevator is one way of staying active, and one will notice that they have a little more pep in their step. Ways of Losing Weight: Healthy vs Unhealthy

...Ways of Losing Weight: Healthy vs Unhealthy To look good, the main important feature is a beautiful figure for both men and women. Nowadays people don’t have time to cook at home and as a result they depend on fast food. Generally fast foods have too many calories from butter, fat, sugar and preservatives which are very bad for health. Consequently, day by day people are becoming overweight. Thousands of people, who are now struggling to lose weight, can choose either a healthy or a dangerous way of losing weight. Both of these will help you to drop weight, but unlike the dangerous way, the healthy way has the long lasting benefit. The dangerous way of losing weight is easy and fast, whereas the healthy way takes time and lots of motivation and patience Some people take weight loss pills which is the shortcut way of losing weight. But these pills have many side effects.  These kind of pills reduce the appetite and can destroy the metabolic system permanently . The healthy way does not recommend taking pills, rather it encourages people to eat five small servings throughout the day and drink lots of water. Some people do excessive exercise which is considered to be dangerous for losing weight because too much exercise can cause harm to the muscle and  sometimes it causes muscle pull. On other hand, regular and slight exercises are a must for those who choose the healthy way of losing weight. Regular exercise can burn calories and make muscle slowly which is...

How to Lose Weight Without Losing Your Mind

...How to lose weight without losing your mind In today’s society, we are bombarded with weight loss products and programs. Everywhere you look, it’s low-fat this and reduced calories that. It seems every other commercial is advertising some miracle diet pill or program. According to John Phillip, “Every day fitness clubs are opening up on every corner and new weight loss books are being published at lightning speed”(92). Even with all this going on around us we are still not losing any weight at all. We are doing this and it is driving our friends, family and ourselves insane. We are causing our minds to explode and bodies with all the diets and pills. So if these things are not working how do we lose the weight and keep it off?, by light exercising, alternative snacking, and by letting your body receive sleep. I have taken the pills, tried the diets, even cabbage soup, and spent an enormous amount of money on programs to help me. Finally one day after stepping on the scales and seeing that after a week of dieting I had not lost one pound, I started thinking about metabolism. I knew metabolism had to do with the rate in which your body uses up or “burns calories”( Stanley). So I learned that if you have a higher metabolism, you burn calories faster than consume them, making you lose weight. Here are just a few simple steps to consider as you battle with your metabolism. Light Exercises I know exercise is most definitely not a word that most dieters wants to even think...

How to Lose Weight Without Losing Your Mind

...Many people struggle with weight problems and find it close to impossible to shed pounds. Making realistic goals, cleaning up your nutrition, and daily exercise can make it easier to lose weight. While making goals it’s crucial to set a time period and to be realistic; don’t expect 50 pounds to be gone in one week. It’s also best to keep in mind to be specific on how much you wish to lose, measurable such in a scale or dress size, and attainable with their daily schedule kept in mind. Keeping a nutritious diet (such as fruits, vegetables, and unprocessed foods) will help better your body and help your body get rid of the extra unnecessary glucose, fatty acids and amino acids. Even with a nutritious diet one’s weight loss goals cannot be accomplished without some form of exercise that best fit the individual’s needs, for example walking or jogging, yard work (mowing, raking, digging), dancing, swimming, biking, climbing stairs or hills, or playing a sport like tennis or basketball. Together these three key steps will help you lose weight without losing your mind. Losing weight is similar to writing an essay; you have to start by planning it out. Make your goal attainable, specific, measurable, and set a specific date on which you’ll reach your goal. Start off by specifying your weight loss goal to ten pounds and the time period by which you’d want to have accomplished this such as in one month’s time. You have to prerequisite a daily schedule to plan out how to make this goal...
