The song I'm choosing is full of poetry and it has a deep meaning like clear water and I guess we all feel it once in life at least. In this thesis I would like to approach the meaning the song as for me and the difference between 1993 until 1999. Also leave an important message to you that you can read during this prewriting. In 1993 singers were artists and some ugly in 1999 singers are all models that sing.
In 1993 I was 15 years old. I was a teenager in the down of my adult life and when I listen to this song on the radio I always wondered what that emotion so private that they sang was.
Private Emotion:

The song is from the Hooters and the lyrics are as follows:

Every endless night has a dawning day Every darkest sky has a shining ray And it shines on you, baby, can't you see You're the only one who can shine for me
It's a private emotion That fills you tonight And a silence falls between us As the shadows steal the light and wherever you may find it Wherever it may lead Let your private emotion come to me Come to me, come to me, come to me
When your soul is tired and your heart is weak Do you think of love as a one way street? Well, it runs both ways, open up your eyes Can't you see me here, how can you deny
It's a private emotion That fills you tonight And a silence falls between us As the shadows steal the light
And wherever you may find it Wherever it may lead Let your private emotion come to me Come to me, come to me
Every endless night has a dawning day Every darkest sky has a shining ray It takes a lot to laugh as your tears go by But you can find me here till your tears run dry
Well, it's a private emotion That fills you tonight And a silence falls between us As the shadows steal the light
And wherever you may find it wherever it may lead let your private emotion come to me
Let your private emotion come to me Let your private emotion come to me Come to me, come to me

This is pure poetry and very private emotion. When I feel down I listen to this song and a “shining ray” comes to my like because every endless night as a shining ray and the night can become day because it is all in our emotions and if we let them go, the sun will shine like into the miserable way of felling sadness. Sometimes we really should let go the private emotions to others so that we get free of black thoughts.

I used to live near Oporto and my live was different like I was free and many people were alive and now they are old or passed away.
Concerning the song it is more popular as a Ricky Martin song than properly the Hooters feelings.
In a small web search I type “private emotion” and guess who comes there Ricky Martin.

"Private Emotion" is a pop song written by Eric Bazilian and Rob Hyman and originally recorded by The Hooters, for their 1993 album, Out of Body. The song was picked up by Ricky Martin and included on his Ricky Martin album. It was released as a single on February 8, 2000 and featured Swedish singer Meja. As Turkey was one of the countries where Martin's popularity was at its peak, Ricky Martin sings the song with Sertab Erener instead of Meja in the Turkish edition of the album.
The Australian maxi-single includes "Almost a Love Song", which is an English version of Martin's song "Casi un Bolero", taken from the Grammy-winning album Vuelve.

As you can see it is not the Hooters that are famous probably you never heard from them. They are mentioned just for author’s rights not because of their song and Ricky Martin just did a cover.
I can tell you why Ricky has more success: he is younger and more attractive than the old hooters.
We live in a material world but I’m not a material girl, I appreciate art and artist not models that sing and sometimes kill the purity of the song with their covers.
Take a look at the Hooters, as you can see they are old and not as beautiful as Ricky.

I think our society felt in the ridiculous like female singer almost naked with underwear and those shorts that my mother uses to disguise her big belly.
So empty futile highly demanding society.
Susan Boyle is another example she could be better than Celine Dion but she is too old and ugly.

Here is a picture of Susan Boyle

This house wife caught everybody with the open mouth in Britain got Talent because with her aspect they thought she was just another sick person and she won’t go much further because she has no sex appeal to be shown on TV.
I mean when I was 15 years old there was toothless people and fat people you know real people now they are not real people they are sculptural man an woman that sing in their void message an void songs, wearing my mother's underwear.
However “every darkest night as a shining ray”(Eric Bazilian, Robert Hyman 1)
I hope this change to another kind of music concept and normal people like the Hooters or Susan Boyle can be as famous as Madonna or Ricky Martin.

After all who are the Hooters?
The Hooters are an American rock band from Philadelphia. By combining a mix of rock and roll, reggae, ska and folk music, The Hooters first gained major commercial success in the United States in the mid-1980s due to heavy radio and MTV airplay of several songs including "All You Zombies", "Day by Day", "And We Danced" and "Where Do the Children Go". Their popularity resulted in the band opening the Philadelphia portion of the Live Aid benefit concert in 1985. Bob Geldof has publicly stated (including in the BBC Live Aid Against All Odds documentary) that he didn't see the Hooters as a high-profile band suitable for Live Aid, but that the band was forced on him by the promoter of Live Aid in the United States, Bill Graham.[1] Geldof let his feelings be known during an interview for Rolling Stone saying: "Who the fuck are The Hooters?"[2] The Hooters do not appear on the officially released DVD of the concert.[2]
During the late 1980s and 1990s, The Hooters found significant commercial success internationally, especially in Europe, where they played at The Wall Concert in Berlin in 1990, before they went on hiatus in 1995.
Since reuniting in 2001, The Hooters have staged successful tours in Europe and 2007 saw the release of their first album of new material since 1993, Time Stand Still.

The Hooters are a band full of history with a huge work and they deserve all the respect for their music.
Funny sometimes I feel I live in a capitalist material fake democracy like a dictator camouflage by capitalism.
But never mind... I hope you got the message and you feel the same too.
