The body needs more oxygen when exercising because when you start to move your muscles will start producing energy from breaking down glucose to aid with the movement. If there is an insufficient amount of oxygen getting to the muscles then they will look for another way to produce energy. This can result in the production of lactic acid which causes cramping in the muscles or if you’re doing intense exercise then you could cause lactic acidosis which is harder to burn off.
The body needs to remove carbon dioxide because the build up of carbon dioxide will over power the oxygen which will then start replacing it and result in making the blood more acidic. This would then slowly start shutting down the vital organs as the used oxygen is not being replaced which keeps everything alive.
M2
A unicellular organism requires the use of diffusion because the surface area of a unicellular organism is so small it is quick enough to meet the demands for oxygen so they don’t need a complex respiratory system. A multicellular organism cannot use diffusion as diffusion is a slow process and it physically can’t meet the demands of oxygen for a larger organism.
Blood is made up of various components which include;
 Plasma
 Red blood cells
 White blood cells
 Platelets
All of these components work together …show more content…
People with illnesses such as asthma or people who don’t exercisehave a smaller lung capacity because they have narrow airways compared to athletes who train their lungs to increase the intake of air into their lungs. They do this to keep up with the demand of oxygen required from the muscles because the muscles need to break down glucose to form energy with the help of
