Major themes of Quran the book which is written by Fazlur Rahman who was born September 21, 1919, in what is today Pakistan. His early education was in Islamic schools followed by an M.A. degree from Punjab
University, Lahore, in 1942, with a First Class in Arabic. He was awarded the D. Phil. degree by Oxford University in 1949 for his thesis, Avecenna's Psychology.
He was lecturer in Persian Studies and Islamic Philosophy at Durham University from
1950-1958. In 1958, he was appointed Associate Professor in the Institute of Islamic
Studies, McGill University in Montreal, where he remained until 1961. In 1962, he was named Director of the Central Institute of Islamic Research in Pakistan and continued in that capacity until 1968.
In 1969, he was appointed Professor of Islamic Thought at the University of Chicago …show more content…
As the Quran is the revealed book from God it has the solution for all kind of problems .these problem can be with an individual or in society Quran has solution for that.
From this part we can discuss two thing s which is very important aims of the Quran .
1: establishing a viable social order on the earth.
Reasons:
Justice: because the Quran is revealed book it is for all the people no difference among people .thus viable social order needs justice on the earth,if there is no justice so there is no viable social order on the earth . favored people to Allah: are the people who are faithful and has piety. living faithfully or having piety is the one way for establishing viable sociable order .in the Quran also has stated about favored people. O mankind, we have created you from a male and a female and have made you into nations and tribes for you to know one another. Truly, the noblest of you with God is the most pious. Truly, God is All-Knowing, All-Aware.

Literature entails a vast array of forms including prose, novel, drama and poetry. This discussion covers the concepts of literature in the Western and Islamic tradition. To further explore the above dichotomy, this paper identifies the unifying function of both literatures as enhancing knowledge of self. Besides, this essay also clarifies the function of literature as a didactic instrument of teaching from both different traditions. In addition, by comparing these two traditions, there is a clear explication of the elements of fantasy and reality infused in both literary traditions. Lastly, this essay concludes with the value-judgment of evaluating good or bad literature. Muhammad Qutb defines ‘Islamic literature’ as literature written by people belonging to Muslim writers as well as works by non-Muslim writers who deal with Islamic values in their views (M. Badawi, 1993, p. 50).
