Make a List

Top 3 most pressured situations in school
The concept of the list is the ironic and twisted way of thinking and acting as a student, when in a pressured situation at school. The list is made to give students a “wake-up-call” from the way they act, and to make them start realizing that school is not that hard and bad.
3. The “last minute assignment”
It is a popular situation. You have got an assignment to do for the next day, though the wall is so much more interesting to look at than your blank paper of doom. You catch yourself staring into the wall, or going to the kitchen to get food over and over again, but nothing happens to your assignment. It is an eternal blank page of boringness. The letters just will not magically appear on it. Then the classic “screw this!” reaction comes to mind. You write a lot of useless junk, which is not even right and deliver it, only to get a really bad grade that you are probably going to cry about at night. This happens to students all over the world, and it is what brings the world to its end. Maybe 2012 is not just a prank.
2. The “I am not prepared” situation
This happens every day for students all over the world. Yesterday ruined it all, your favorite TV-show was airing non-stop, and you end up in class tired as hell, with nothing to say. Suddenly your teacher asks you if you are ready make your presentation. You sit tongue-tied for a few seconds, though afterwards you man up, and tell the teacher you are ready, and you are going to kick ass! As you walk the steps of evil on your way to the drawing board, you think about what you are going to say, and that it is going to be amazing! The teacher will sit with tears in his eyes and grant you a giant applause! Though when you start talk, it is a constant mumbling about stuff you don’t have the slightest sense of what is. When you are done, you feel like you have done great,…...

Schindler's List

...Jews (6 millions) were being killed during a time which most label as one of the darkest periods of human history. What does “Schindler’s List” stand for? It stands for the Jewish workers that Schindler bought from the German officer, Goeth, to work in his factory, the 1100 Jewish people that he saved eventually. Who were the best performing characters of the movie? Liam Neeson does well (as Oskar Schindler), but in particular I liked Ben Kingsley (as Istak Stern, Schindler's accountant) and Ralph Fiennes (as Amon Goeth, the camp commandant). All of the performances were very convincing and reflect the good casting. What was the color of the movie? The color of the movie was mostly in black and whit. Black and white give a historical connotation to the movie which in my opinion made it very distinctive. There were a very few colorized scenes though (the Jews praying at the beginning/ the Jews putting small rocks on Schindler’s grave) Why do we still make movies about world war II? The story of the Holocaust needs to be told over and over again, in hopes that future generations can understand the horrors perpetrated on an entire race of people and prevent such future occurrences. How is the movie in general? The making of this film took over a decade of preparation and it was well worthy the time spent. Schindler's List not only entertained but also educated and amazed millions of viewers with strong emotions. It's powerful scenes and insight into the......

...takes an earthquake of 7.5 on the Richter scale or more to cause a tsunami. Floods The destruction an earthquake likely to cause is definitely an unpredictable one. When a certain water body such as a lake or a river is deformed due to an earthquake it can result in a flood. Damage of dams can so cause a sudden overflow of water into land. Landslips due to earthquake into dam reservoirs can also lead to a flood situation. Soil Liquefaction When fine soil such as sand loses its power and gets liquefied, it is known as soil liquefaction. This can cause many buildings to sink and cause great destruction. Such kind of destruction can wipe out infrastructure and pose a threat to human life. Fire The severe movement that earthquakes make can cause serious damage to electrical and gas lines. As it disrupts the whole of infrastructure, it gets difficult to bring down the fire. The latest earthquake in Japan has damaged the nuclear reactor which has led to nuclear radiation in the country. Shaking and Ground Rupture This is a primary effect of an earthquake. The visible breaking of ground and displacement of the Earth, which can go up to several meters is known as shaking and ground rupture. This can be a major risk if it happens close to a dam, a nuclear plant or near other power stations. CAUSES OF EARTHQUAKE. The primary cause of an earthquake is faults on the crust of the earth. The cracks or sudden slips of the land are known as faults or fault planes. The......

Think About and Create a List of Step That Makes Sense for Your Organization

...3. Think about and create a list of step that makes sense for your organization. As a management sponsor the implementation of this project is crucial. The project manager and steering committee would be politically astute enough to develop and maintain an open, honest relationship with the management sponsor. The list of step that will make sense for organization to implement the HRIS as follow: 1. Process Mapping. To implementation of any new information system it is important to understand an existing process. On the surface, this appears to be a rather straightforward task which is the process and identify: a. The Data elements are stored and modified. b. How those data elements are stored and modified. c. What output exists? In reality, additional information and structure are required to ensure that the essence of the entire organizational process is captured. The first step is to generate a list off all the processes performed by each area of the HR function and a second list process of processes that are touched by more than one are of the HR function. The second step is to start generating a model of each process within the entire HR function. A successful model will incorporate both a flowchart picture and a dataflow picture model (i.e what data elements, processes and outputs go with each step of the process). The Completed process maps are ideally compiled into a large chart that provides an overall view of the organizations processes. 2...

...The List Story by 10/16/2013 I find myself on the ledge of a building with two of his thugs grabbing me. I think to myself how did I get here? Should I have done what I did? Is this the end? I should start from the beginning. I grew up in a wealthy house hold. My father was well known for breakthroughs in the technology field. He was working on many projects but the one that made him a multi-millionaire was the work in self-sustaining energy. When I was eighteen, my father and I went on a trip to China, a trip that would change our lives forever. It was a pretty quiet plane ride. Dad was working on his laptop and I was listening to music. I noticed there was a very bad storm out of the window. The plane was shaking. Suddenly the lights went out and the oxygen masks deployed. Something hit my head. The next thing I know we are in the water and my dad is yelling my name. I see him in the distance swimming towards me. He gets to me and gives me his life vest. He tells me that I have to survive, that his company isn’t what I thought it was. He gives me a book with a list of names and tells me that everyone on that list has done terrible things to stay rich, and that he is no different. He told me stories of how he and the people on this list got wealthy by stepping on the necks of the poor. That he has had people hurt or killed to keep his company on top. He stayed with me as long as he could but as time went by he got weaker. He couldn’t......

...Process production means that the product undergoes physical -chemical transformations and lacks assembly operations, therefore raw materials cant easily be obtained from the final product, examples include: paper, cement and nylon. * Part production (ex: cars and ovens) comprises both manufacturing systems and assembly systems. In the first category we find job shops, manufacturing cells, flexible manufacturing systems and transfer lines, in the assembly category we have fixed position systems, assembly lines and assembly shops (both manual and/or automated operations) Another possible classification[12] is one based on Lead Time (manufacturing lead time vs delivery lead time): Engineer to Order, Purchase to Order, Make to Order, Assemble to Order and Make to Stock. According to this classification different kinds of systems will have different customer order decoupling points (CODP), meaning that Work in Progress cycle stock levels are practically nonexistent regarding operations located after the CODP (except for WIP due to queues). The concept of production systems can be expanded to the service sector world keeping in mind that services have some fundamental differences in respect to material goods: intangibility, client always present during transformation processes, no stocks for "finished goods". Services can be classified according to a service process matrix: degree of labor intensity (volume) vs degree of customization (variety). For high degree of labor......

...Local landline phone systems consist of several different components. The following are what makes it all up. 1. The local loop is the link between a customer and the telephone company’s central office, often called “the last mile”. The local loop uses copper-based telephone wire. 2. The central office is a local telephone company switching center. There are 2 types of central offices, the first is end office (EO) or local exchange (LE) and connects directly to the outside plant. The second type is the Tandem office; this is a central office that is not connected directly to the customer. 3. Point of presence (POP) is the point at which a line from a long distance carrier (IXC) connects to a local telephone company or to the user if the local company is not involved. In dial up the POP is the local telephone exchanged that the modem dials into to log in. 4. Long Distance service is made by an interexchange (IXC). This component is used to connect LEC’s together in different LATA’s. 5. The fixed line refers to devices connected by cable. A fixed line phone is wired to a telephone jack on the wall. Cellular Telephones are a lot like a two way radio that carries a full-duplex conversation. These components that make this up are; 1. Voice, transmitted information in a format similar to a fixed line, when it first came out. There were a lot of lost calls when it was implemented. Now that is very rare. 2. Data, started out at 2g, and now we are......

The Bucket List

...The bucket list The Bucket List; what can I say? The Bucket List is a movie starring Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson about the exploits in life they never got to accomplish and set out to do so after discovering they were going to die. It is an interesting take on death and how to deal with death. It shows many different viewpoints on the subject of death not just from the view of Edward (Nicholson) or Carter (Freeman.) This movie really makes you think about how you live your life. The Bucket List was considered one of the most uplifting movies of the year. These men both view death in different ways. Carter in the beginning accepted death; if he did not accept death yet the movie would have been over fairly quick. You can tell he accepted death because he started writing his bucket list as a metaphorical contract that states he has given his life and is ready to die. However towards the end of the movie it seems Carter has no longer accepted death because he refuses to go back home to his family after starting the list. I think he feels this way because he thinks when he gives up on the list that will signify the end. Edward in the beginning does not accept death he refuses to deal with funeral arrangements and the passing down of his possessions. Towards the end Edward realizes that his life has been fulfilled not from completing the list but truly finding a lifelong friend in Carter. It makes you wonder how different these men’s lives would be if they were not to......

Schindlers List

...Character types in Schindlers list: Oskar Schindler: Oskar Schindler, war profiteer, womanizer, and Nazi Party member, becomes the unlikely hero and savior of about 1,100 Polish Jews during the Holocaust. He is essentially a con artist and moderately successful businessman who recognizes the potential for profit in wartime. He buys a formerly Jewish-owned enamelware factory and uses bribery and ingratiation to procure military contracts to make war supplies. At the beginning of his quest to become rich, he is indifferent to the Jewish situation, which he sees as merely an unfortunate result of war. A playboy with a large ego, Schindler routinely cheats on his wife and joins the Nazi Party not for ideological reasons but because it will help him make more money. Although he purchases the factory after it has been confiscated from Jewish owners and is given an apartment appropriated from wealthy Jews, Schindler feels no remorse and does not consider the origins of his good fortune. Schindler, initially concerned only with himself and the success of his moneymaking scheme, undergoes a change that prompts him to spend his fortune to save the lives of those he once exploited. His motive is never completely clear—and indeed, the real Schindler never revealed his motivations. However, the film does suggest that at least one of his incentives was obvious: Schindler simply could not sit by and watch people he knew be sent to death. His metamorphosis from a man of indifference to......
