II. Rationale Your community is where you live in with your neighbors, so you got to keep it safe and healthy. By observing your community, you may get to know about it, get to know its problems and investigate the source of the problems. It is exciting to investigate because you can help your community to solve the problem.

The researcher observed that children don’t like to eat vegetables that much. This can cause problems in their nutrition. Even if they are young, their lives won’t last long because they lack vitamins and the proper diet to give them energy. She will make an experiment to help the children be healthy again and help her community become strong.

III. Related Literature
A. Oil and its Uses
An oil is any neutral, nonpolar chemical substance that is a viscous liquid at ambient temperatures and is both hydrophobic (immiscible with water, literally "water fearing") and lipophilic (miscible with other oils, literally "fat loving"). Oils have a high carbon and hydrogen content and are usually flammable andslippery.
The general definition of oil includes classes of chemical compounds that may be otherwise unrelated in structure, properties, and uses. Oils may be animal, vegetable, or petrochemical in origin, and may be volatile or non-volatile.[1] They are used for food, fuel, lubrication, and the manufacture of paints, plastics, and other materials.
-------------------------------------------------
Etymology
First attested in English 1176, the word oil comes from Old French oile, from Latin oleum,[2] which in turn comes from the Greek ἔλαιον (elaion), "olive oil, oil"[3] and that fromἐλαία (elaia), "olive tree", "olive fruit".[4][5] The earliest attested forms of the word are the Mycenaean Greek , e-ra-wo and , e-rai-wo, written in the Linear B syllabic script.[6]
-------------------------------------------------
Types
Mineral oils
Crude oil, or petroleum, and its refined components, collectively termed petrochemicals, are crucial resources in the modern economy. Crude oil originates from ancient fossilizedorganic materials, such as zooplankton and algae, which geochemical processes convert into oil.[8] The name "mineral oil" is a misnomer, in that minerals are not the source of the oil—ancient plants and animals are. Mineral oil is organic. However, it is classified as "mineral oil" instead of as "organic oil" because its organic origin is remote (and was unknown at the time of its discovery), and because it is obtained in the vicinity of rocks, underground traps, and sands. Mineral oil also refers to several specific distillates of crude oil.

Organic oils
Organic oils are produced in remarkable diversity by plants, animals, and other organisms through natural metabolic processes. Lipid is the scientific term for the fatty acids, steroids and similar chemicals often found in the oils produced by living things, while oil refers to an overall mixture of chemicals. Organic oils may also contain chemicals other than lipids, including proteins, waxes and alkaloids.
-------------------------------------------------
Applications
Cosmetics
Oils are applied to hair to give it a lustrous look, to prevent tangles and roughness and to stabilize the hair to promote growth. See Hair conditioner.
Religion
Oil has been used throughout history as a religious medium. It is often considered a spiritually purifying agent and is used for anointing purposes. As a particular example, holy anointing oil has been an important ritual liquid for Judaism and Christianity.
Painting
Color pigments are easily suspended in oil, making it suitable as a supporting medium for paints. The oldest known extant oil paintings date from 650 AD.[9]
Lubrication
Given that they are non-polar, oils do not easily adhere to other substances. This makes them useful as lubricants for various engineering purposes. Mineral oils are more commonly used as machine lubricants than biological oils are. Whale oil is preferred for lubricating clocks, because it does not evaporate, leaving dust, although its use was banned in 1980.[10] As no suitable substitute is available, whale oil is still used in space (in small quantities).[11]
Fuel
Some oils burn in liquid or aerosol form, generating light, and heat which can be used directly or converted into other forms of energy such as electricity or mechanical work. To obtain many fuel oils, crude oil is pumped from the ground and is shipped via oil tanker or a pipeline to an oil refinery. There, it is converted from crude oil to diesel fuel (petrodiesel), ethane (and other short-chain alkanes), fuel oils (heaviest of commercial fuels, used in ships/furnaces), gasoline (petrol), jet fuel, kerosene, benzene (historically), and liquefied petroleum gas.

Cooking
Several edible vegetable and animal oils, and also fats, are used for various purposes in cooking and food preparation. In particular, many foods are fried in oil much hotter than boiling water. Oils are also used for flavoring and for modifying the texture of foods (e.g. Stir Fry).
Cooking oils are derived either from animal fat, as butter, lard and other types, or plant oils from the olive, maize, sunflower and many other species.

B. Oregano Plant and its benefits

“Oregano is a warm and aromatic yet slightly bitter herb in the mint family. The best quality oregano is grown in a warm, dry climate. The name is derived from the Greek, meaning “mountain of joy”. Sunlight encourages the concentration of the essential oils that give oregano its flavor.

Uses of Oregano Essential Oil
Source of Essential Nutrients
It’s not exactly a multivitamin but there’s no denying that oregano oil is loaded with vital nutrients like magnesium and zinc and vitamins C and E. It’s sufficiently high in iron, calcium, potassium, copper, manganese, and niacin. As a secondary approach, oregano oil might help bridge the gap that so many people have between their nutritional intake and requirements.
Fights Infection
There’s a lot of evidence to show that oregano oil is a powerful tool against the harmful organisms that lead to infections. One study straight from the United States Department of Agriculture reported that oregano oil has such a strong action against germs that it could easily fight Salmonella and E. coli.
Allergy Support
If you suffer from allergies and environmental sensitivities, the soothing properties of oregano oil are likely to be highly interesting.
Weight Loss
In addition to its reputation as a natural immune booster, oregano oil also packs a punch against unwanted body fat. Its active ingredient, carvacrol, is thought to modulate genes and promote fat digestion In one study, when fed a high fat diet, mice not given carvacrol quickly became obese. In contrast, mice given carvacrol gained significantly less weight and even had lower levels of cholesterol and triglycerides in their blood.
Digestive Aid
Good digestion is absolutely required to experience good health. Stopping the buildup of toxins in the gut needs to be part of the plan, and oregano oil can help. Oregano oil is known to stimulate the flow of bile into the digestive organs, enhancing the digestive process.

“Anti-Fungal of Marigold (Calendula Officinalis) Flower Extract

...(Calendula officinalis) flower extract” I. INTRODUCTION Background of the Study From hundreds of centuries ago, in ancient times, and from times when the human being was active as today on the scene of life and fighting for life, along with his struggles to provide food and clothing, he was thinking about his health, finding ways to live healthy and relieving physical ailments and illness which was later called the medicine and of course the herbal medicine which is now applicable for us. Flowers always make people better, happier, and more helpful; they are sunshine, food and medicine for the soul. A popular garden plant, Marigold has been valued for many centuries for its' exceptional healing powers and is particularly remarkable in the treatment of wounds. When used for medicinal purposes, it is commonly referred to as 'Calendula'. (Sunset Western Garden Book) The “marigold” (Calendula officinalis) also called “ruddles”, common marigold, garden marigold, English marigold, or Scottish marigold is a plant in the genus Calendula of the family Asteraceae. It is probably native to southern Europe, though its long history of cultivation makes its precise origin unknown, and it may possibly be of garden origin. It is also widely naturalized further north in Europe (north to southern England) and elsewhere in warm temperate regions of the world. “Marigold” is well known as a wound-healing, antiseptic and stimulating remedy, but in fact modern herbalists rely upon this plant for...

Diabetes Awareness: Signs, Symptoms and, Prevention and Nutrition

...HUN1201 Principles of Nutrition 04/20/2014 Diabetes Awareness: Signs, Symptoms and, Prevention and Nutrition As a very young child, I grew up watching my mom struggle with her diet every day. She suffered from diabetes and was forced to keep a constant watch over every single morsel of food she put in her mouth. Over the years began to understand much more about the complexities of my mother’s disease and how vital it was for her to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. As the disease progressed, my mother was forced to introduce now and more invasive methods to manage her disorder, including insulin shots twice daily. Despite all of her efforts to keep her disease in control, my mother lost her battle at the horrifyingly young age of 47.Watching her fight so bravely against sometimes that she eventually would have no control over was a tremendous inspiration to me. My mother’s journey is the reason that I have decided to come up with a healthy balanced diet for an individual who is diagnosed with diabetes. My hope is that I can educate diabetes about their disease and maybe give them more precious time with their loved ones that I had with mine. Diabetes mellitus, more commonly called simply diabetes, is a group of metabolic diseases. People afflicted with this disease have high blood sugar, either because their body does not produce enough insulin, or because the body's cells do not respond to the insulin that is produced. Insulin...

Communicating About Food in Today's Diverse World

...assortment of backgrounds --people who have important, lasting ties to their own cultures? -Are you called upon to provide guidance to people who have recently joined the community, for whom everything -- language, living accommodations, and economic status -- is new and different? Nutrition educators face challenges like these more and more every day. In a multicultural world, opportunities abound for knowledge to be shared among educators, families, and communities. This begins with understanding the many ways in which seemingly different cultures are alike, including foods eaten, occasions celebrated, and traditions followed. It also involves fostering respect for the great variety in cultures and developing an appreciation for what makes people different. Above all, it means celebrating diversity -- in nutrition, as in so many other aspects of life. Our Nation's Changing Culture There's no doubt about it -- the face of our nation is changing. The population of the United States is diverse, and this racial and ethnic diversity is growing rapidly. In fact, according to the 1990 census, almost one in four Americans has African, Asian, Hispanic, or American Indian ancestry. That figure is projected to rise to almost one in three by the year 2020 and almost one in two by the year 2050. Within each of these broad ethnic groups, there are people of many different backgrounds and cultures. For example, there are 530 federally recognized American Indian and Alaska Native nations...

He went from house to house dragging two metal ingots and everybody was amazed to see pots, pans, tongs, and braziers tumble down from their places and beams creak from the desperation of nails and screws trying to emerge, and even objects that had been lost for a long time appeared from where they had been searched for most and went dragging along in turbulent confusion behind Melquíades’ magical irons. “Things have a life of their own,” the gypsy proclaimed with a harsh accent. “It’s simply a matter of waking up their souls.” José Arcadio Buendía, whose unbridled imagination always went beyond the genius of nature and even beyond miracles and magic, thought that it would be possible to make use of that useless invention to extract gold from the bowels of the earth. Melquíades, who was an honest man, warned him: “It won’t work for that.” But José Arcadio Buendía at that time did not believe in the honesty of gypsies, so...
