Case believes that the road to success is based in what he calls the Three P’s: People, Passion and Perseverance. Case believes to gain success one must engage in the right people who also have a desire to successful and change the world. Loving your job is one of the key points he discusses. If enjoyment is missing from your chosen profession, you are no good to yourself or those around you. Gaining success sometimes involves taking a risk. Failure may be inevitable, but at least the effort was made. Be patient and stay the course, success will follow (Case, 2010). Kouzes also feels that the best leaders should use five techniques to motivate others. First, lead by example. Your words should be modeled by your actions. Second, surround yourself with people who focus on similar ideas and goals. Third, do not wait for success, but instead go out and make things happen. Fourth, focus on your team. Leadership: a Support Communication and Motivation

...strong leader as long as determination, open-mindedness, and optimism are learned and developed. If you have the desire and willpower, you can become an effective leader. Good leaders develop through a never ending process of self-study, education, training, and experience (Jago, 1982). To inspire your workers into higher levels of teamwork, there are certain things you must be, know, and, do. These do not come naturally, but are acquired through continual work and study. Good leaders are continually working and studying to improve their leadership skills; they are not resting on their laurels. Leadership is a process by which a person influences others to accomplish an objective and directs the organization in a way that makes it more cohesive and coherent. This definition is similar to Northouse's (2007) definition — Leadership is a process whereby an individual influences a group of individuals to achieve a common goal. In most of the organizations, the influence of managers is most clearly seen in the leader role. Formal authority vests them with a great potential power. Leadership determines, in large part, how much power they will realize (O’Rourke, 2010, p4). Although your position as a manager, supervisor, lead, etc. gives you the authority to accomplish certain tasks and objectives in the organization, this power does not make you a leader, it simply makes you the boss. Being a boss is not the same as being a leader. Bosses inherit subordinates. Leaders earn......

...and responsible for their own success and failures. However, because the leadership is so strong and thought of every aspect of the organization, following the simple steps to running a successful organization is a proven system that anyone can do. With that being said, if you are great at playing follow the leader, there will be no reason for a great deal of innovation because all that needs to be done, has been done. The one innovation that is promoted is the way to build confidence and posture. Something leaders teach but each individual has to find it in them what it takes to motivate them to implement the changes that need to be made. The leaders, which are the founder, the vice president of sales and the master distributor do more focusing on the creation of the innovation in my organization. The leaders that have been in the trenches and made a substantial amount of success within the organization focus more on managing and sustaining the innovation in my organization. According to the structure of the organization, not much innovation is needed to be successful. The structure is designed to be simple and easy to duplicate throughout the entire organization, making it possible for anyone that has a desire to make it to the top to not only make it, but also experience significance throughout their journey. The wonderful thing about the structure of this organization is the fact that everyone that collaborates is not only their own business owner, but also the......

Personal Responsibility

...Personal Responsibility is linked to College Success Gen/200 July 1, 2013 Jeremy NeVille Personal Responsibility is linked to College Success As George Washington Carver said, “Ninety-nine percent of all failures come from people who have a habit of making excuses.” (LeadershipNow, n.d.). Although, people are naturally unable to take responsibility, college success is attainable when an individual accepted personal responsibility. With an early behavioral intervention set at a young age, academic success is easily adaptable and reachable. Continuing higher education such as attending college is an individual’s personal responsibility of choice. Higher Education offers a place for learning and practicing skills such as; setting goals, manage time, resolve conflicts, and learn new skills. Recognizing our potential can advance our ability to gain lifetime-acquired skill for success in college. Accepting personal responsibility is to own up to his or her mistakes. When an individual accepted personal responsibility of his or her actions, he or she takes full control of all the decision-making. Pointing fingers or making excuses for any circumstances are not a trait of an individual who takes personal responsibilities for his or her life. Acknowledging your own mistakes is an admirable trait of a responsible individual. In every family household there are different sets of values and approach on teaching their children personal responsibilities. These children are......

Strategic Decision Making

...friend is going to start a new business and he invited me to join him as partner. He proposed me to put me in a fix position. But in the meanwhile I am in the middle of starting my own business. Both of the planned companies are in the real estate business, specialized in acquiring, managing and repositioning of industrial, residential and office properties. I know that my friend is very intelligent with a lot of experience and an extent network of relationship. It is really an honor to be invited to join him. On the other hand I have been meaning to start my own business for a long time. Both companies will take up about the same amount of time to invest and it will be impossible to manage both at the same time. So I stay before the decision whether I try to undertake on my own or join with my friend. It is obvious that both of the way has its risks and advantages. So this decision demands more consideration. To illustrate the decision-making I stay before I imagined the following decision-tree: If I would follow my passion, namely to build up my own venture I have to invest the ~ 51% of the acquired money. The rest would be invested by a venture capital firm, which I have already convinced with my business plan. This investment means from my side almost all of my savings, and a bankruptcy would mean that I have to start my life over. As I know that in nowadays’ always changing business environment the knowledge, the well built business plan, well prepared exit......

...prevent a person from making foolish decisions that could jeopardize that person’s career. The legal system is perhaps the field where values and ethics are most needed. The decisions made by criminal justice professionals affect a person’s livelihood, their freedom, and even their continued existence. For this reason, judges have a very extensive set of ethical guidelines laid out in the U.S. Constitution, federal and state law, and legal precedent. Two judges in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania chose to ignore professional ethics, and it cost them their careers. We expect judges to be impartial when administering justice, but these two judges had a stake in the verdict when juvenile offenders appeared in their courts. An unusually high number of juvenile offenders got stiff sentences for minor crimes. They were all forced to serve time in privately-owned juvenile detention centers that these judges had a stake in (Juvenile Law Center, n.d.). Oftentimes these children’s civil rights were violated. One of the judges, Mark Ciavarella, repeatedly ignored established legal procedures by not advising children of their right to counsel and sentencing them without representation. He is now serving prison time for his crimes. The other judge is now awaiting sentencing (Warren, 2011). Some would believe that practicing ethics in a business setting would prevent a person from being successful. This is not the case. Fred Hsieh would be considered a business success by any means. He......
