BECOME AN ACTOR.
If you're wondering what it takes to make it in the acting field, you need to ask yourself one very important question before you begin: Why do you want to become an actor? If you answer is that you want to be rich and famous, you should stop right now. Like any art, acting takes hard work and passion for the craft. The business can be gruelling and almost always involves a lot of rejection. There are thousands of actors who work constantly, but are never known by name. They keep at their art because they love it. If you are going to become an actor, so should you.

Acting
The art or practice of representing a character on a stage or before camera.

Basics of Acting * Reflect - to bring about a special appearance or characterization.

* Characterize – to know which character accords with your qualities

* Practice – for close resemblance to a character to a character.

ACTING FOR THE COMEDY GENRE
COMEDY IS HARD WORK
Acting in a comedy is harder than it may seem. One of the key elements of comedic acting is not to "milk the audience" for a laugh. You may have a brilliantly funny script to work from, but if you play the scenes as though a laugh is going to come at any moment, you will certainly kill the spontaneity of the world you have created. In order to avoid giving the joke away too soon, actors need to stay focused on each moment as it unfolds.
ACTING FOR THE DRAMA GENRE
ACTING IN SOAP OPERAS
In the old days, soap opera acting was synonymous with cheesy acting. Crying women, brooding men... Some soap operas do still hold that honor, but most have begin to hire actors who can bring a bit of reality to their roles.
Think of a soap opera as real life with the intensity knob turned up a few notches. In a moment of conflict, don't go overboard with your emotion, but simply intensify it. Audiences thrill at living through

...of diagnosis evaluation, management, prevention and treatment. It is completely relevant to my specialty as I work in pediatric as a RN and encounter a lot of asthmatic cases that include the children with exercise induced asthma. The methods of guideline validation are external peer review and internal peer review. The major recommendations are presented in the form of summary statements that show the strength of the recommendations. The potential benefits are in terms of appropriate evaluation and management of the individuals affected with suspected exercise-induced bronchoconstriction (in accordance with my PICOT question). Although the use of albuterol (short acting) decreases the signs and symptoms of exercise induced asthma but according to guidelines daily use of long-acting β2-agonists (LABAs) and short-acting β2-agonists (SABAs) may actually increase the severity of exercise-induced bronchoconstriction (EIB) in long terms. Fraud at Samone

...clock-in system to track payroll, employees forgot to clock in or out constantly, so they needed to complete a missed clock report in order to get paid for unrecorded hours. Manual paychecks were used to adjust underpayments to employees. The manual paycheck system was simple; a manager would fill out a manual paycheck request, submit it for approval to Patricia Gonner, the HR manager, and White would process the check. Everything seemed to be in order because White would try and process the checks and get them to employees within 48 hours. In addition, each department manager was required to review the payroll expense reports for accuracy twice a month. The business unit controller at Samone, Joe Burke, found a stack of manual paycheck request forms on White’s desk one day when she was out of the office. Burke had a hunch that something fishy was going on so he selected a few manual paychecks to test and he found some patterns that brought up concerns of fraudulent behavior. Burke asked internal audit to conduct an investigation of all manual paychecks processed in White’s business unit. They discovered that in the last 5 years, 60 percent of the manual paychecks processed were fraudulent payroll request forms created by White with Gonner’s forged signature. Internal audit confirmed that White had created the manual paychecks, forged the payee signatures, and signed her or her...

Constitutional Reform

...Introduction The monarchy has been described as ‘the keystone in the arch of the British Constitution’. It is, indeed, an extremely significant part of our culture and history, as well as being central to our system of Government. It will therefore be necessary to begin any discussion of the constitutional issues involved in its abolition by outlining the current functions of the head of state in Britain. As ‘a state without a monarch is a republic’, it will then be necessary to consider the constitutional issues which would be implicit in giving effect to such a republic. These issues will include decisions as to the type of president we would have, how they would be selected, and the scope and extent of powers they would possess. This discussion is not intended to be one of the relative merits of a monarchy versus a republic: indeed, the decision to abolish the monarchy has already been made. Rather, it is an attempt to answer the question of how this central feature of our constitution could be replaced. In answering this question, I will look to a possible alternative, namely an elected president, and determine whether, and on what basis they could take over the functions of the monarch. Other constitutional issues regarding the selection of such a President must then be considered, along with other constitutional issues arising in this context. As a preliminary issue, it should be noted that in this hypothetical situation, it is Prince Charles, or rather King...

Learning Inventory

...VARK and Multiple Intelligences Inventory assessments and answers to the questions on the syllabus: 1. Based on the descriptions in the text, where do you see yourself on the Kolb Inventory of Learning Styles? Based on the descriptions in the text of the Kolb Inventory of Learning Styles I see myself as an active experimenter. I make decisions easily and enjoy solving problems. I enjoy applying what I have learned to see if I understood the material correctly and feel that I learn quickly. I am always ready to move quickly from thinking to action and get frustrated by those who take too much time acting on what they have been taught. This coincides with the realistic category I fall into with the Holland Personality and Career types as I see myself as a concrete and practical doer. I prefer situations that involve action rather than verbal or interpersonal tasks and take a concrete approach to problem solving rather than relying on abstract theory. 2. After reading about the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, determine which personality is most like you. On the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator I am an ESTJ: Extravert –I am outgoing, gregarious, and talkative and find myself too talkative at times or intimidating to those who are shy or introverted. Sensing- I am interested in the facts and see myself as practical, factual, realistic and down-to-earth. Thinking- I see myself as a logical, rational, and analytical person. I tend to decide things relatively impersonally...
