SWOT Analysis

* Human Resources- Staffs

Strengths:
La Belleza Salon and Spa salon has 9 staffs. This indicates that the salon is not that big compared to known salons like Bench Fix, Davids’ salon and other salons who has branches in different cities. With this, having only 9 staffs is easy to manage and to communicate with staffs and the manager. The salaries expense is not that big as well because the salon has few staffs.

Weaknesses: For the information that the market of the salon to where it is located consists of 8,000 residences living in that subdivision. Therefore, the salon doesn’t have enough staffs to handle with the market people they have. They will have hard time handling the customers especially when customers are coming in and out continuously. The customers won’t be patient enough to wait for their turn since the salon is new.

* Physical Resources- Location Strengths: La Belleza Nail and Spa salon is new, so basically their equipments are also new. The furnitures and the interior of the salon are fresh so people would love to visit and try their services. Renovation is not needed. The salon is located inside a mall in village, we can tell that the rent expense would not cost much compared if they have their own establishment. Weaknesses: The salon is located inside the mall of the subdivision, so basically homeowners and residents are the one who will visit and be able to see the salon. The market people are 8,000 and it is not sure that, the 8,000 people are fond of going to the salon. It is hassle for outsiders to go inside the village just to try this new salon that they can experience the same service to the salons near their place. * Activities and Processes- Programs you run

Strengths: La Belleza Nail and Spa salon has a lot of services to offer like like nails, they have manicure and pedicure. For spa, they have different types of body massage and for hair treatment like haircut, rebonding, hot oil, hair color, relax and such. These are things that people needs to pamper themselves out from stress or just to make themselves good looking.

Weaknesses: La Belleza is a salon and the services that they offer is not enough to maximize their space. They should also have services like facial, waxing so that the business can earn more with these services added.

* Past Experiences- Company reputation

Strengths: The La Belleza is a new built salon and the because is new, their reputation is good and a lot of people might try their services especially when they give promos. They should maintain the freshness that the salon has for now because it is new so people may come and visit them again.

Weaknesses: The salon is new, and this may also be the reason why people can choose to not try their services because they have doubts of trying it. For this matter, the salon can further advertise their salon in order for the people to get encourage to try and visit the salon.

...Perceptual Map Presentation MKT/421 October 2, 2014 Perceptual Map Presentation Introduction Congratulations on the opportunity of purchasing a new Big O Tire franchise. The location you have chosen is a good spot. You will need to raise money for the franchise, marketing research is important to your success, and so is competitive advantage. Raising Money It is important to raise $350,000 for the Big O Tires location on 61st avenue and Bell Road. The address is 6195 W Bell Rd in Glendale. The first and easiest would be ask family members and friends. This is just simply a gift, and it works for obtaining business capital. According to Fraser (n.d.), “You have no ongoing obligation to the giver (although you should thank the person and make an effort to maintain good relations.)” It may seem impolite to ask family or friends, but it does make sense to start here. It is important for tax purposes to document the gift, even it is in a letter explaining that the money is a gift (Fraser, n.d.). It is also possible to ask for a business loan from family or friends. A loan is when a person receives money and promises to pay it back, usually with interest over a set period. “For your sake and the sake of the lender, it’s best to set up every loan the way a bank would: with a signed agreement, call a promissory note, and repayment schedule,” Fraser (n.d.). A small business loan has the possibilities of borrowing up $150,000 of the $300,000 needed to. The SBA express launched...

My project will involve two assignments using the Excel application and two with Power Point. A) What did I decide to do for my Excel project? The two pieces of evidence that I am producing in Excel are two spreadsheets that will comprise the following: 1) A spreadsheet for an event that I organised while I was working at the Royal Bath Hotel as a Conference Supervisor. A social evening event for staff to get to know one another outside the work place. I liaised with contractors and suppliers in arranging the food, drink and to check the feasibility for a band and DJ via the club manager. A rough data input form was produced, a document of how the spreadsheet was being designed and what information was needed to process the assignment. 2) The second spreadsheet is an invoice for Conferencing and Banqueting Supplies for the Events Department at the Royal Bath Hotel with authority by the De Vere Group. As a Conference Supervisor I organised supplies for our Conference Rooms, to improve our services and to compete with other 5 star hotels. Every three months this invoice was sent to De Vere Headquarters for it to be approved. B) Why did I use this application? The Excel software for the event project has allowed me to calculate...

...and Red Crescent Societies, the United Nations, various nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) and government agencies themselves. As the limiting factor in disaster response is often the coping capacity of those affected, improving their resilience when responding to disasters is a key approach to lessening the consequence of a disaster. A vulnerability map gives the precise location of sites where people, the natural environment or property are at risk due to a potentially catastrophic event that could result in death, injury, pollution or other destruction. Such maps are made in conjunction with information about different types of risks. A vulnerability map can show the housing areas that are vulnerable to a chemical spill at a nearly factory. But it just as likely, could delineate the commercial, tourist, and residential zones that would be damaged in case of a 100-year flood or, more devastation, a tsunami. Vulnerability maps are most often created with the assistance of computer technology called geographic information systems (GIS) and digital land survey equipment designed for use in the field. However, vulnerability maps can also be created...

Reflection

... In my 4th year of study, I would have to spend 8 months working on a project in a developing country. I could work on a health care delivery system, do an environmental assessment, create a marketing or small business development plan with local entrepreneurs, address key issues such as child labor or HIV/AIDS, and the list goes on. With a good mark in English, I hope to get accepted into this program. I’ve never taken an online course so I did not know exactly what to expect. I am finding it more difficult than the English course that I took in day school. I also find that it is twice as much work. However, in day school, a lot of the marking is through class discussions, presentation, and overall behavior in class. Because ILC is independent and there are no teachers to mark a student on presentations discussions, etc, it makes sense that there would be more work to cover. I like this course a lot more than my last English course. I love writing. In day school, we did a lot of writing, but there was always a lot of pressure to finish it at a certain date and perfectly. I absolutely love how I can work at my own pace think about what I am writing thoroughly without stress. It makes things much easier. I work at Zellers as a Fashion Sales Associate. And I have found that balancing school and work has become so much more easier by taking this...

Evaluating Business Communication

...communiques that we learned about are email, memo, powerpoint presentation and report. First let’s talk about emails and how effective they are within the business. When it comes to how well it conveyed the message well the status of how the due diligence is was not clearly the focal point of the message and the recommendation overshadows the message that is trying to be conveyed. It was the right type communication to be used. Emails are best for when talking between peers because is not a formal message. The ethical implications are the sharing of information over an email can be seen by others if the email is hacked or if your peer decides to show someone that they shouldn’t have. The information could be that shouldn’t be seen by any other person other than your peer. Then we have a formal written memo to the Chief Executive Officer. The message was very forward about not moving on with the investment. A formal memo is the best way to talk to such a high authority within your company. It shows the professionalism within yourself to your higher making it look like you know exactly what you are talking about and believing in what you are saying to them. Next there is the powerpoint presentation. With the powerpoint presentation it is very easy to read and understand with the slides and animations. It flows very well making it easier to get the point across and keeping the reader intrigued. Powerpoint presentations are one of the more basic ways to provide financial information...
